Google Director's Push for Computers Inside Human Brains Is 'Anti-Christ,' 'Human Rights Abuse,' Theologians Explain

Google's director of engineering is saying implanting computers "inside our brains" is upon us, words theologians and Christian bioethicists consider a "slap in the face" to Christ and would result in horrific human rights violations.
According to the Daily Mail, Ray Kurzweil, a futurist who works on Google's machine learning project, said at the South by Southwest conference taking place this week in Austin, Texas, that by the year 2029, technological "singularity" will be achieved, the complete merging of human and computer intelligence.
By that time "computers will have human-level intelligence," Kurzweil said in an interview with South by Southwest. "That leads to computers having human intelligence, our putting them inside our brains, connecting them to the cloud, expanding who we are." The joining together of human beings and computer technology at this level, he maintained, will make people "funnier," "sexier," and will "exemplify all the things that we value in humans to a greater degree."
But bioethicists and theologians who spoke with The Christian Post could not disagree more fervently.
Fay Voshell, an award-winning theologian who earned her Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and writes regularly for The American Thinker, said that these tech honchos would have an outrageous level of control over humanity should this ever happen.
"A technological elite comprised of demi-gods who decide how the rest of us think and act by programming us may well result in abuse and deformations as severe as those depicted in The Island of Dr. Moreau or Frankenstein," Voshell said in a CP interview Thursday.
"What tech geniuses would like to insert dumb chips into the neo cortexes of people, making them subhuman slaves?" she asked.
The "singularity" that Kurzweil predicts is near is not merely about the purportedly noble purposes he says this technology will accomplish such as "meeting physical needs" of people or enhancing "artistic qualities," but it also involves creating a single global consciousness.
"Ultimately, it will affect everything," Kurzweil said.
Human beings, then, Voshell said, are thus "programmed machines," pawns in a globalist vision of total equality in a "universal and homogenous state." This transhumanism — a subject about which Kurzweil has authored books — amounts to "a total erasure of our God-given and unique human identities," she contended.
"The process of eradicating the binary identity [of male and female] of human beings already begun by the transgender movement would find its culmination in the erasure of human identity altogether," Voshell concluded.
"The ultimate human rights abuse would be achieved. God forbid."
Dennis Sullivan, a medical doctor and director of the Center for Bioethics at Cedarville University, a Baptist school in Ohio, agreed and called Kurzweil's comments a "slap in the face of our Savior."
Sullivan told CP that although he has never met Kurzweil he has followed his work for years, and he speculates that the Google director takes "maybe 50 to 75" supplements per day.
"He personally must be terrified of his own death," Sullivan mused.
In modern times, he explained, "because of the technological revolution, people are saying 'I want to be better than well. I want to improve,'" which goes far beyond both the "Do No Harm" ethical principle in the Hippocratic oath that physicians abide by and the Christian impulse to alleviate suffering in a fallen world.
"Theologically, I always thought that was a slap in the face to God who said that 'This is very good' in Genesis 1 after creating man. And they're saying 'Not so good, and in fact we can do better.' I find that very, very arrogant."
The main principle undergirding transhumanism as an ideology is "a secular version of immortality on its own terms," he said.
CP asked Sullivan if he would then label this philosophy as inherently "anti-Christ."
"Of course it is," he replied.
By contrast, the Psalms proclaim an exceptional view of human beings, he noted.
Psalm 8:5 reads that God made men and women "a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor." Similarly, Psalm 139 declares God created the "inmost being" of persons and that they are "fearfully and wonderfully made."
"But all of that pales," Sullivan continued, "when you look at John 1:14: 'The Word was made flesh and dwelled among us.' The ultimate affirmation of our personhood, created in God's image, is that God became one of us."
He added that John 3:16 could never have happened without John 1:14.
"We've got to have the 'Word made flesh' as the embodiment of 'For God so loved the world,'" he noted.
Transhumanism in all its hubris, he said, relies on a retooled Gnostic heresy that is very prevalent today, which is the belief that "mind is the permanent self and the body is changeable" and can therefore be divided with no consequences.
In chapter 6 of Why People Matter: A Christian Engagement with Rival Views of Human Significance, a scholarly volume that challenges transhumanism and other philosophies, contributor Patrick T. Smith, a professor of philosophical theology and ethics at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Massachusetts, explains that what humans become in the future in transhumanism remains "undefined."
The model for the future of Christians "is the glorious resurrected body of Jesus Christ," Smith writes.
"That body may well enable us to be the best of all that transhumanists aspire to be, without our needing to become anything other than truly human. People must depend on human power to get where the transhumanists aspire to go; in Christianity people have the power of God to get there. Even if technology could give everyone bodies with half the abilities of the resurrected body — which is doubtful — it cannot free people from their sinful preoccupation with self."
Such preoccupation, Smith explains, and not other deficiencies, "will always be the source of people's greatest unhappiness."
Though transhumanists may seem straight out of a Sci-Fi novel to many, they are becoming increasingly visible. A few have run and are currently running for public office.
Transhumanist Gabriel Rothblatt, a "pastor" of the Terasem movement — a "new sort of religion seeking answers to very old kinds of questions, all with an abiding faith in the transformative power of technology," according to TIME — ran unsuccessfully against Florida Republican Bill Posey for his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2014. Rothblatt's father Martin, who now identifies as a transgender woman named "Martine," is the founder of Sirius Satellite Radio.
Futurist Zoltan Istvan, a San Francisco-based journalist, libertarian, and author of The Transhumanist Wager, is running to be the next governor of California in 2018. A self-identified "passionate science and technology guy" and "an advocate of radical innovation," he claims Libertarian Gary Johnson interviewed him to be his vice president during the 2016 presidential campaign, per a Feb. 12 Newsweek article articulating his prospective gubernatorial bid.

Former Chase Manhattan Chief Executive David Rockefeller has died at the age of 101.
Rockefeller died in his sleep at home in Pocantico Hills, New York, on Monday morning as a result of congestive heart failure, according to a family spokesperson Fraser P. Seitel.
The businessman, who had an estimated fortune of $3 billion, retired as head of Chase Manhattan in 1981 after a 35-year career.
In the statement from the The Rockefeller Foundation confirming his death, Rockefeller was described as “one of the most influential figures in the history of American philanthropy and finance, considered by many to be ‘America's last great international business statesman’.”
Rockefeller, also known as ‘the banker’s banker’, according to the statement, is said to have donated almost $2 billion over his lifetime to various institutions including Rockefeller University, Harvard University and art museum.
David was the youngest of six children born to John D. Rockefeller Jr. and the grandson of Standard Oil co-founder John D. Rockefeller.
Rockefeller graduated from Harvard in 1936 and received a doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago in 1940. Appointed president of Chase Manhattan in 1961, he became chairman and CEO eight years later.
Rockefeller often spoke about the importance of American capitalism, which he said “brought more benefits to more people than any other system in any part of the world at any time in history.”
"The problem is to see that the system is run as efficiently and as honestly as it can be," he added.
Rockefeller was married to Margaret McGrath from 1940 until her death in 1996 and the couple had six children.

There are many people who don't mess with New Age beliefs because they know that it's the exact same stuff the Illuminati (Illuminated ones) and Masons believe. The New Age is the religion of the New World order, it's the religion of the Illuminati, the religion of the Masons. It starts with ancient Egypt, then Babylon, then up through the ages with mysticism and theosophy, and it gets mishmashed together and diluted a little bit to give us the religion of the New Age.
And the irony is that as those who began to dabble in the occult are conditioned to view themselves as "awake," they are actually stepping deeper into the beliefs and values of the very NWO they believe they are opposed to.
Bancarz says he initially slipped down the rabbit hole of New Age when he was in high school.
Since his salvation in 2016, however, Bancarz is out to expose the very real demonic influence over the occult.

Jesus is real, and we live in a world clearly run by his spiritual enemy. This is when things actually start making sense for the first time. This is when things actually become consistent, and we don't have to wrestle with the fact that all the ancient cultures we believe had secret knowledge practiced blood sacrifice, or that we believe what the elites believe or what the masons believe. It's when we can finally rest in intellectual and spiritual integrity.
Notice how the same websites that talk about "spiritual awakening" and the "New Age" are the same ones that are quickest to spread misinformation about the historical Jesus, the Bible or Christian history. It is uncanny.

The New Age beliefs go hand in hand with a one-world religion, which goes hand in hand with denying Christ. It all comes back to him because he is Lord, and this is a time of deception to turn as many away from Him as possible. And as biblical prophecy continues to be fulfilled, the deceptions will get more intricate and severe. Please do not be fooled by this stuff.

Vatican to hold Islamic prayers for the first time in history

On Sunday for the first time ever the readings from Quran will be heard at the Vatican. This move was initiated by the Pope Francis in order to bring peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
During his visit last week to Jordan Israel, and the Palestinian Authority, Pope Francis invited Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
Peres’s spokesperson has announced in Times of Israel that Abbas, Peres, and Pope Francis will be joined by Jewish, Christian and Islamic religious leaders.
According to the officials, these evening prayers would be a “pause in politics” and have no political aim behind it other than the desire to bring peace and respect to the Israeli-Palestinian relations, states the Associated Press.
The Vatican will broadcast the event worldwide through the official website.
However, Rev. Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the custodian of Catholic Church property in the Holy Land has announced that people should keep their expectations low when it comes to this event.
[No-one should think] “peace will suddenly break out on Monday, or that peace is any closer,” he said to AP.
The Vatican has also announced that on Friday, the Pope also held a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and both leaders discussed possible ways of promoting peace and stability in Asia.

Israel's defence minister has threatened to destroy Syria's air defence systems if they are used to target Israeli fighter jets again.
The Israeli military said it shot down one of several anti-aircraft rockets fired at its warplanes by Syria last week in the most serious military exchange between the two hostile neighbours in recent years.
Air force officials said four Israeli jets on a mission to destroy a weapons convoy destined for the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah were attacked by three Syrian surface-to-air missiles, one of which was intercepted by the Israeli Aerial Defence System known as "Arrow."
"The next time the Syrians use their air defence systems against our planes we will destroy them without the slightest hesitation," Avigdor Lieberman said in remarks broadcast on Israeli public
Damascus claimed one of the jets was shot down in Israeli-controlled territory and another was hit – a claim the Israeli military denied, saying none of the jets had been hit.
Israel had carried out strikes near Palmyra to help “Isis terrorist gangs and in a desperate attempt to raise their deteriorating morale and divert attention away from the victories which the Syrian Arab Army is making in the face of the terrorist organisations”, a Syrian army statement said.
Most Israeli air strikes in Syrian territory over the last few years have been aimed at preventing weapons from being smuggled to Hezbollah, which fights alongside the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime against rebel forces.
While the Israel Defence Force (IDF) does not comment on the nature of its operations, Hezbollah, like Iran, is committed to the destruction of the Jewish state.
In highly unusual comments confirming the operation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "Our policy is very consistent. When we identify attempts to transfer advanced weapons to Hezbollah, and we have the intelligence and the operational capability, we act to prevent that. That is what was and that is what will be."
Israel has been largely unaffected by the Syrian civil war raging next door, suffering only sporadic incidents of spillover fire that it has generally dismissed as tactical errors by Assad's forces.
It has responded to the errant fire with limited reprisals on Syrian positions.
The skies over Syria are now crowded, with Russian and Syrian aircraft backing the regime's forces and a US-led coalition striking Isis and al-Qaeda targets.

Russia has sent a clear message to Israel that the rules of the game have changed in Syria and its freedom to act in Syrian skies is over, Syria’s ambassador to the United Nations said on Sunday night.
“Putin sent a clear message,” said Bashar Jaafari, speaking on Syrian television. “The fact is that the Israeli ambassador [to Russia] was summoned for a conversation only a day after he submitted his credentials [to the Russian Foreign Ministry last Thursday], and was told categorically that this game is over.”
Syria’s use of anti-aircraft fire against Israel last Thursday night has changed the rules of the game, too, Jaafari said, adding that Syria will not stand idly by in the face of an Israeli threat.
He also claimed that when the civil war began in Syria in 2011, opposition militia groups sabotaged the anti-aircraft defense systems belonging to President Bashar Assad’s regime, giving Israel freedom to operate.
In a separate incident, Syrian media reported Sunday that the commander of a militia fighting alongside the regime was killed in an Israeli airstrike around Quneitra, in the Golan Heights.
The Lebanese TV channel Al Mayadeen, which is associated with Hezbollah, identified the casualty as Yasser Assayed, a member of the national defense militia. A source associated with the Assad regime said Assayad was a commander in the Golan brigade, a militia of Druze fighters (from villages in the Syrian part of the Golan Heights) who are fighting with the regime.
Between Thursday night and Friday morning, Israeli fighter jets attacked several targets in Syria, triggering the most serious clash between Israel and Syria since the civil war erupted six years ago. In response to the airstrikes, the Assad regime’s aerial defense system fired several missiles at the jets. Israel’s Arrow anti-missile defense system was launched, shooting down one of the missiles north of Jerusalem. The incident forced Israel to admit for the first time that it had launched an aerial attack in Syria.
Following that, Israel’s ambassador to Moscow, Gary Koren, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry for talks with Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov – again, an unusual development. Since Russian forces began operating in Syria in 2015, there have been a number of airstrikes that foreign media have attributed to Israel. But the Israeli ambassador had never previously been called in to clarify Israel’s actions.

Netanyahu to Putin: Israeli airstrikes in Syria will continue

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he has told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Israeli forces will continue airstrikes in Syria if they deem it necessary.
“If there is feasibility from an intelligence and military standpoint – we attack and so it will continue,” Netanyahu said during a visit to China, adding that he had informed Putin of Israel’s intentions.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the Israeli PM also dismissed reports that Russia was insisting that Israel cease its military operations on Syrian territory.
On Monday, Syrian President Bashar Assad told visiting Russian MPs that he is counting on Russia to prevent further Israeli attacks on Syrian soil and to help Damascus avoid a full-blown conflict with Tel Aviv.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry summoned the Israeli ambassador to Moscow, Gary Koren, to demand explanations for the airstrikes Israel conducted near the Syrian city of Palmyra on Friday morning. Israeli Defence Force (IDF) warplanes hit several targets near Palmyra, allegedly destroying advanced arms provided to the Lebanese militant movement Hezbollah.
Syria’s air defense force fired anti-aircraft missiles at the Israeli planes as they were returning to base. Syrian media reported that one plane was downed, while Israel denied any losses.
Israel also said that it shot down one of the interceptor missiles with its Arrow long-range SAMs, which saw the first-ever use of the system in battle.
After the incident, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman threatened that “next time, if the Syrian aerial defense apparatus acts against our planes, we will destroy it.”
In January, Damascus accused Tel Aviv of bombing the Mezzeh military airport west of the country’s capital. The airport was rocked by multiple explosions, with ambulances rushing to the scene.
The IDF has violated Syrian air space on a number of occasions, even before the conflict broke out in the country back in 2011.
Possibly the most infamous incident occurred in 2007 when an alleged Israeli raid destroyed a suspected nuclear reactor in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor governorate.

Palestinians bestow highest award on UN official who resigned in ‘Israeli apartheid’ report scandal

The UN official who resigned this week over the Israeli “apartheid regime” report has been awarded the highest Palestinian honor. Tel Aviv immediately slammed the move as an act of diplomatic war, saying its an “outrageous” decision to honor the former UN official for her “libel”.
President Mahmoud Abbas had personally called Rima Khalaf, the former chief of Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) to notify her about receiving the Palestine Medal of the Highest Honor in recognition of her “courage and support” for the Palestinian people, Wafa news reported.
The series of events began when UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres asked ESCWA to take down the report, which was published on the ESCWA website Wednesday. Khalaf was forced to resign her post after she refused to comply with Guterres' request to take down the controversial study which accused Israel of being guilty of “policies and practices that constitute the crime of apartheid” against the Palestinian people.
On Friday, the UN affiliate removed the document from its website.
As she resigned Khalaf, told reporters that she still stands by the research, calling it, the “first of its kind” from a UN agency that sheds light on the alleged Israeli “war crimes.”
Announcing the award for her uncompromised principles on Saturday, Abbas’ office stressed that the Palestinian people “appreciate her humanitarian and national position.”
Israeli officials and public figures welcomed Khalaf resignation, with the Israeli UN ambassador calling it long overdue. Supporters of the Palestinian cause viewed her resignation as a tragedy.
“We ... extend our deep appreciation to Dr. Rima Khalaf whose resignation from her post as UN ESCWA Executive Secretary should have never been accepted by UN Secretary-General Guterres,” the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization said, according to Wafa.
“We will continue to remain grateful to Dr. Khalaf for assuming a principled and courageous stand on behalf of the people of Palestine,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority condemned the erasing of the report from the UN agency’s website.
“The Palestinian government denounced the removal of the report, which accused Israel of apartheid, emphasizing Israel’s continuous imposition of the apartheid regime upon the Palestinians in the occupied territories,” spokesperson Tareq Rishmawi said on Sunday.
Angered by the news of the award, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesman, Ofir Gendelman, tweeted that honoring Khalaf for her “libelous and false” ESCWA report was an act of “diplomatic war on Israel.”
“Pres Abbas’s decision to give the highest honor to Rima Khalaf, the former UN official who issued a fake report about Israel, is outrageous,” Gendelman said. “This is yet another proof that Abbas not only supports extremist elements but that he also wages a diplomatic war on Israel.”

Huge reserves of underground water in some of the driest parts of Africa could provide a buffer against the effects of climate change for years to come, scientists said.
Researchers from the British Geological Survey and University College London have for the first time mapped the aquifers, or groundwater, across the continent and the amount they hold.
‘The largest groundwater volumes are found in the large sedimentary aquifers in the North African countries Libya, Algeria, Egypt and Sudan,’ the scientists said in their paper.

They estimate that reserves of groundwater across the continent are 100 times the amount found on its surface, or 0.66 million cubic kilometres.
Writing in the journal Environmental Research Letters, they cautioned, though, that not all these reserves can be accessed.
Where they can, small-scale extraction using hand pumps would be better than large-scale drilling projects, which could quickly deplete the reservoirs and have other unforeseen consequences.
Groundwater is no panacea for Africa's water shortages but it could form an important part of a strategy to cope with an expected sharp increase in demand for water as the continent's population increases.
Even now, some estimates put the number of Africans without access to safe drinking water at more than 300 million and only 5 per cent of arable land is irrigated.
‘It is not as simple as drilling big bore holes and seeing rice fields spring up everywhere,’ said Dr Stephen Foster, a London-based senior adviser for aid group Global Water Partnership and an expert in groundwater issues.
‘In some places it could be economically and technically feasible to use groundwater to reduce crop loss, but I would question whether that is true everywhere. It will need detailed evaluation.
Foster noted that projects have failed due to cost and logistics problems.
‘In northern Nigeria there have been groundwater irrigation projects that have failed because of the rising cost of fuel - a major factor in drilling costs - and distribution difficulties.’
The researchers say some of the largest deposits are in the driest areas of Africa in and around the Sahara, but they are deep - at 100 to 250 meters below ground level.
‘Water levels deeper than 50 meters will not be able to be accessed easily by a hand pump,’ said the study, led by Dr Alan MacDonald of the British Geological Survey. ‘At depths greater than 100 meters the cost of borehole drilling increases significantly due to the requirement for more sophisticated drilling equipment.’
The amount of water a borehole yields is another key issue. A small community hand pump needs a borehole with a flow rate of 0.1 to 0.3 litres per second. For large-scale irrigation, the rate needs to be much higher, say around 50 litres.

Phoebe White, a water, sanitation and hygiene specialist for the UK Department for International Development based in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, said hand pumps in the DRC cost up to $13,000 apiece but in some areas the aquifers are too deep and other pumps must be used.
In areas of DRC where drilling deep boreholes is required the cost can be around $130,000, although problems of accessibility and infrastructure can push that figure up, according to White.
The researchers say the maps, based on existing geological charts from governments and hundreds of aquifer studies, are aimed at promoting a ‘more realistic assessments of water security and water stress’.
Roger Calow at UK think-tank the Overseas Development Institute, which was involved in the program that spawned the research, said the paper shows water shortages in large parts of Africa do not stem from scarcity.
‘What the science is telling us is that we have more storage in these shallow, relatively unproductive (aquifers) than we thought,’ he said, adding that about 60 per cent of Africans still live in rural areas and 80 per cent of those rely on groundwater systems.
Calow said a third of hand pumps across Africa have broken down due to a lack of maintenance.
Aid agencies gave the research a cautious welcome.
‘The discovery of substantial water reserves under parts of Africa may well be good news for the continent but it may prove hard to access in the near term and, if not sustainably managed, could have unforeseen impacts,’ Nick Nuttall, spokesman for the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in Nairobi.
Nuttall said over-abstraction exploitation of groundwater in Mexico City, for example, is undermining the foundations of buildings.
He said the focus of efforts to improve water supply should be on better collection and storage.
‘The fact is that there is already a tremendous amount of water available for Africa but it is rarely collected’.
A study by UNEP and the World Agroforestry Centre found there is enough water falling as rain over Africa to supply the needs of some 9 billion people.
‘Ethiopia, where just over a fifth of the population are covered by domestic water supply and an estimated 46 per cent of the population suffer hunger, has a potential rainwater harvest equivalent to the population needs of over 520 million people,’ Nuttall told Reuters.

How Gaddafi’s Great Man-Made River Project became part of Water Wars

April 14, 2013 - Libyans called it the eighth wonder of the world. Western media called it a pet project and the pipe dream of a mad dog. The "mad dog" himself in 1991 prophetically said about the largest civil engineering venture in the world: "After this achievement, American threats against Libya will double. The United States will make excuses, but the real reason is to stop this achievement, to keep the people of Libya oppressed."
Gaddafi's dream
It was Muammar Gaddafi's dream to provide fresh water for all Libyans and to make Libya self-sufficient in food production. In 1953, the search for new oilfields in the deserts of southern Libya led to the discovery not just of significant oil reserves, but also of vast quantities of fresh water trapped in the underlying strata. The four ancient water aquifers that were discovered, each had estimated capacities ranging between 4,800 and 20,000 cubic kilometers. Most of this water was collected between 38,000 and 14,000 years ago, though some pockets are believed to be only 7,000 years old.
After Gaddafi and the Free Unitary Officers seized power in a bloodless coup from the corrupt King Idris during the Al-Fateh Revolution in 1969, the Jamahiriya government nationalized the oil companies and spent much of the oil revenues to harness the supply of fresh water from the desert aquifers by putting in hundreds of bore wells. Large farms were established in southern Libya to encourage the people to move to the desert. It turned out that the majority of the people however preferred life in the northern coastal areas.
Therefore Gaddafi subsequently conceived a plan to bring the water to the people instead. The Libyan Jamahiriya government conducted the initial feasibility studies in 1974, and in 1983 the Great Man-Made River Authority was set up. This fully government funded project was designed in five phases, each of them largely separate in itself, but which eventually would combine to form an integrated system. As water in Gaddafi's Libya was regarded to be a human right, there has not been any charge on the people, nor were any international loans needed for the almost $30 billion cost of the project.
In 1996, during the opening of Phase II of the Great Man-Made River Project, Gaddafi said:
This is the biggest answer to America and all the evil forces who accuse us of being concerned with terrorism. We are only concerned with peace and progress. America is against life and progress; it pushes the world toward darkness.
Development and destruction
At the time of the NATO-led war against Libya in 2011, three phases of the Great Man-Made River Project were completed. The first and largest phase, providing two million cubic metres of water a day along a 1,200 km pipeline to Benghazi and Sirte, was formally inaugurated in August 1991. Phase II includes the delivery of one million cubic metres of water a day to the western coastal belt and also supplies Tripoli. Phase III provides the planned expansion of the existing Phase I system, and supplies Tobruk and the coast from a new wellfield.
The 'rivers' are a 4000-kilometer network of 4 meters diameter lined concrete pipes, buried below the desert sands to prevent evaporation. There are 1300 wells, 500,000 sections of pipe, 3700 kilometers of haul roads, and 250 million cubic meters of excavation. All material for the project was locally manufactured. Large reservoirs provide storage, and pumping stations control the flow into the cities.
The last two phases of the project should involve extending the distribution network together. When completed, the irrigation water from the Great Man-Made River would enable about 155,000 hectares of land to be cultivated. Or, as Gaddafi defined, the project would make the desert as green as the flag of the Libyan Jamahiriya.
In 1999, UNESCO accepted Libya's offer to fund the Great Man-Made River International Water Prize, an award that rewards remarkable scientific research work on water usage in arid areas.
Many foreign nationals worked in Libya on the Great Man-Made River Project for decades. But after the start of NATO's so-called humanitarian bombing of the North-African country in March 2011, most foreign workers have returned home. In July 2011, NATO not only bombed the Great Man-Made River water supply pipeline near Brega, but also destroyed the factory that produces the pipes to repair it, claiming in justification that it was used as "a military storage facility" and that "rockets were launched from there". Six of the facility's security guards were killed in the NATO attack, and the water supply for the 70% of the population who depend on the piped supply for personal use and for irrigation has been compromised with this damage to Libya's vital infrastructure.
The construction on the last two phases of the Great Man-Made River Project were scheduled to continue over the next two decades, but NATO's war on Libya has thrown the project's future - and the wellbeing of the Libyan people - into great jeopardy.
Water Wars
Fresh clean water, as provided to the Libyans by the Great Man-Made River, is essential to all life forms. Without fresh water we simply cannot function. Right now, 40% of the global population has little to no access to clean water, and that figure is actually expected to jump to 50% by 2025. According to the United Nations Development Program 2007, global consumption of water is doubling every 20 years, more than twice the rate of human population growth. Simultaneously, every single year most of the major deserts around the world are becoming bigger and the amount of usable agricultural land in most areas is becoming smaller, while rivers, lakes and major underground aquifers around the globe are drying up - except in Gaddafi's Libya.
In the light of the current world developments, there is more to the NATO destruction of the Great Man-Made River Project than being an isolated war crime. The United Nations Environment Program 2007 describes a so-called "water for profit scheme", which actively promotes the privatization and monopolization for the world's water supplies by multinational corporations. Meanwhile the World Bank recently adopted a policy of water privatization and full-cost water pricing, with one of its former directors, Ismail Serageldin, stating: "The wars of the 21st century will be fought over water".
In practice this means that the United Nations in collaboration with the World Bank plans to secure water resources to use at their disposal, and that once they totally control these resources, the resources become assets to be reallocated back to the enslaved nations for a price. Those prices will rise while the quality of the water will decrease, and fresh water sources will become less accessible to those who desperately need it. Simply put, one of the most effective ways to enslave the people is to take control of their basic daily needs and to take away their self-sufficiency.
How this relates to the NATO destruction of Gaddafi's Great Man-Made River Project in July 2011 can be best illustrated by the Hegelian Dialectic, popularly known as the concept of Problem -> Reaction -> Solution. In this case, by bombing the water supply and the pipes factory, a Problem was created with an ulterior motive, namely to gain control over the most precious part of Libya's infrastructure. Subsequently a Reaction in the form of an immediate widespread need was provoked as a result of the Problem, since as much as 70% of the Libyans depend on the Great Man-Made River for personal use as well as for the watering of the land. A month after the destruction of the Great Man-Made River, more than half of Libya was without running water. Ultimately a predetermined Solution was implemented: in order to have access to fresh water, the inhabitants of the war-torn country had no choice but to fully depend on - and thus to be enslaved to - the NATO-installed government.
A 'democratic' and 'democracy-bringing' government that came to power through the wounding and killing of thousands of Libyans by 'humanitarian bombs', and that overthrow the 'dictator' whose dream it was to provide fresh water for all Libyans for free.
War is still peace, freedom is still slavery.

By doing some simple research you’ll come across not one, but countless maps that depict the same thing: The continent of Antarctica presumably without ICE.
But… how is this even possible? We’ve only ‘found’ Antarctica recently. So how can there be maps of the continent depicting it free of ice?
According to experts, Antarctica separated around 160 million years ago from the Gondwana supercontinent, beginning to cool down again. By 23 million years ago, Antarctica was mostly icy and for the last 15 million years, it has been a frozen desert under a thick ice sheet.
Today, scientists estimate that 98% of Antarctica is covered by the Antarctic ice sheet, a sheet of ice averaging at least 1.6 km (1.0 mi) thick. The continent has about 90% of the world’s ice (and thereby about 70% of the world’s fresh water).
An ancient global-scale ‘mapping project’

Interestingly, many authors—including myself—will venture out and say that these maps may very well prove that in the distant past, ancient explorers had an extremely well-developed cartography system comparable in precision to the one we have today.
These maps could also ‘prove’ that ancient mankind knew the exact shape and size of the Earth, contrary to popular beliefs, and used spherical trigonometry, precise and elaborate mathematical calculations, as if thousands of years ago an unknown civilization undertook a global-scale project of mapping the entire planet like no one has ever done before. The result: numerous ancient maps that according to many prove our history is not what we’ve been told.
The Zeno Map. Published around 1380, the enigmatic maps accurately depicts the coasts of modern-day countries such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and Scotland. This ancient map also happens to depict—somehow—the EXACT latitude and longitude of a number of islands on our planet.
The Camerio map, created in 1502 uses a spherical grid, even though people in the middle ages still believed our planet was in fact… flat.
The Iehudi Ibn ben Zara map, drawn in 1487 displays remnants of glaciers in Britain. The map also includes extremely detailed depictions of islands in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. Today, these islands still exist, but due to rising water levels, these are now underwater.
The Hadji Ahmed map, published in 1559, shows incredibly accurate delineations of the western coast of Northern America and Antarctica.
The Buache map—created around 1737—is believed to be the result of much more ancient maps. This chart depicts Antarctica well before the ‘icy’ continent was in fact discovered. Interestingly, like many other ancient maps, this too accurately illustrates Antarctica without ice.
Another shocking map is the King Jaime World Chart. Created in 1502, the map accurately depicts parts of the Sahara Desert displaying it much differently than it is today: with fertile land, huge lakes rivers and what appear to be ancient cities.
The Oronce Finé World Map created in 1534, is an early cordiform chart which displays features of Antarctica when the continent was not covered by Ice.

Just as the Buache map, the Piri Reis Map—one of the most famous ancient charts—is supposedly a collection of even older maps, displaying the correct coastline of Antarctica as it was under the ice. The map was composed around 1520 and in addition to displaying Antarctica without ice, it accurately depicts the geography of the American Continent with such a precision that it looks as if it was put together with the aid of aerial photography.
Is it possible that all of the above maps are the result of an advanced ancient civilization that somehow managed to map the entire planet thousands of years ago—perhaps before the last ice age?
If so, who was this mysterious civilization and does this provide enough ground to venture out and say advanced ancient civilization—like Atlantis—may have existed on Earth, terns of thousands of years ago?

Europeans won’t be able to ‘walk safely’ if EU’s current attitude persists, Erdogan warns

People in Europe won’t be able to “walk safely” and freely on the streets if they don’t change their current attitudes, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has warned, amid a deepening diplomatic row over the cancellation of Turkish rallies in the EU.
“If Europe continues this way, no European in any part of the world can walk safely on the streets. We, as Turkey, call on Europe to respect human rights and democracy,” Erdogan told a group of local journalists in Ankara on Wednesday, Reuters reported.
During his inaugural address, Germany’s new president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, said Erdogan risks undermining everything Ankara has achieved in recent years.
“The way we look (at Turkey) is characterized by worry that everything that has been built up over years and decades is collapsing,” Steinmeier said during his inaugural speech on Wednesday.
“President Erdogan, you are jeopardizing everything that you, with others, have built,” he noted, adding that he would welcome “credible signs” to ease the conflict.
“But end the unspeakable Nazi comparisons!” Steinmeier stressed. “Do not cut ties with those who want partnership with Turkey! Respect the rule of law and the freedom of media and journalists! And release [German-Turkish journalist] Deniz Yucel,” he added.
Ankara is embroiled in a war of words with several European countries that have barred political rallies supporting a Turkish constitutional referendum scheduled for April.
Earlier this month, Erdogan branded Dutch authorities as “Nazi remnants” after the government withdrew permission for Turkey’s foreign minister to land and speak at a pro-Erdogan rally in Rotterdam.
He has also slammed a number of local authorities for canceling similar political rallies for Turkish ex-pats in German cities that had been scheduled in March.
The speakers were going to promote the upcoming referendum on constitutional changes that could see Erdogan’s presidential powers greatly expanded.
At a rally in Istanbul on Sunday, the Turkish leader once again labeled certain European countries “Nazis,” saying they “would revive gas chambers” if they weren’t so ashamed.To add fuel to the fire, Erdogan turned his sights directly on Germany’s chancellor.
“When we call them Nazis, they [European politicians] get uncomfortable. They rally together in solidarity. Especially Merkel,” he said.
“Merkel… She backs [the Netherlands], too. You too are practicing Nazi practices. On whom? On my Turkish brothers and sisters in Germany,” the Turkish leader added.
The remark sparked outrage in Germany, where the country’s notorious Nazi past and the crimes of Hitler’s regime are still sensitive issues.
“The comparisons between today’s Federal Republic of Germany and National Socialism, which we have heard in recent days, are not only insulting and absolutely false – they also relativize the Nazis’ rule of terror,” said Josef Schuster, the head of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, as cited by Deutsche Welle.
Other German politicians have also lambasted Erdogan’s Nazi comparisons.
“Has Mr Erdogan lost his mind?” asked Julia Kloeckner, the vice-president of Merkel’s CDU party. She also told journalists that she would urge the EU to halt the transfer of “financial aid worth billions of euros” to Turkey, Die Zeit reported.
Earlier, Merkel also urged Ankara to stop using Nazi references, saying that Germany “will not allow the victims of the Nazis to be trivialized.”
Her appeal appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

Peru airlifting citizens stranded by fatal floods

Peru's Air Force has mobilized its planes to airlift thousands of citizens from flood-ravaged areas as the death toll from the natural tragedy rises.
The air force has been airlifting people from the northwestern city of Piura where a river burst its banks, threatening further devastation.
So far at least 75 have been killed in the flooding, 263 have sustained injuries, 20 are missing and some 630,000 have been displaced, according to the latest official report.
According to officials, some 7,000 residents have been transported in the last five days. Over 1,000 more are still waiting to be lifted to safety. However, the flights have been met by long queues of residences seeking to escape the deadly floods.
Foreigners have reported that they are often left behind by the air force. About half of Peru has been declared in emergency to expedite resources to the hardest hit areas, mostly in the north where rainfall has broken records in several districts due to the El Nino weather phenomena.
Widespread damage to roads and railways has slowed aid delivery. Many of the affected areas have little or no communication available due to power outages caused by the extreme weather.
At least eight hospitals have been destroyed by flooding and 16 others are uninhabitable, creating a dangerous situation for those injured during the recent historic flooding.
A warming of the ocean waters off the coast of Peru may be linked to the unusually heavy rainfall over recent weeks.
Peru is bracing itself for another month of flooding and President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski said he was considering appointing a "reconstruction czar" to help coordinate rebuilding efforts.

Brexit day is on the cards and those who support it will celebrate
And the occasion is set to be marked with an event, similar to US Independence Day, when all new laws will take effect.
One of the biggest issues facing the UK Government is how it will separate British domestic laws from laws that have been driven through in Brussels.
And in order to successfully achieve a change over they have to ratify a day which will go down in history as "Brexit Day".
Mrs May announced plans to introduce a “Great Repeal Bill” in the next Queen's Speech, which will repeal the European Communities Act 1972 and incorporate European Union law into domestic law, “wherever practical”.
And a Parliamentary report has revealed: "The Government has indicated that these legal changes within the Bill would take effect on “Brexit Day”: the day the UK officially leaves the European Union (EU)".
The claims were made in a Parliamentary briefing paper that was issued to members of Parliament in the Commons.
It was handed over before they voted for the Brexit bill to go through and before it received Royal Assent from Her Majesty the Queen.
The Brexit Day events are likely to be similar to that of those celebrated earlier this week on Commonwealth Day.
And insiders say it's likely that as well as an event in Parliament that the occasion will be marked in style.
The United Kingdom became a fully-fledged member of the European Economic Community on New Years' Day 1973.
Ireland and Denmark also joined Britain in becoming the newest members of the community at that time bringing a total of nine states to the club.
At midnight a Union Jack flag was raised at the EEC's headquarters in Brussels to mark the occasion.
More than 1,000 Britons relocated to Belgium in 1973 to take up their places as civil servants of the community.
At that time Britain was given four votes within the council and policy was focussed on public and environmental health.

We’re all wired for kindness. We act kindly because we know instinctively it’s the right thing to do, and believe the world could do with more kindness.
I grew up in a small community in central Scotland where everyone helped each other. It was common to have a neighbour knock for a cup of sugar or some milk, and it was this sharing that knitted people together.
When I became a scientist, developing drugs for cardiovascular disease and cancer, I left this small village behind and moved to Manchester.
We’re all wired for kindness. We act kindly because we know instinctively it’s the right thing to do, and believe the world could do with more kindness
But I still carried its spirit with me. So much so that I studied the ways a network of relationships sustained by kindness can benefit us all, both physically and psychologically — and how it can slow the effects of ageing too.
DOING GOOD DEEDS SMOOTHS YOUR WRINKLES
People under stress tend to be more prone to infections and disease. As we get older, the immune system weakens, known as immunosenescence.
But studies have shown that both giving and receiving kindness boosts the immune system. A positive attitude to life’s stressors helps us recover faster from illness and strengthens our ability to fight off disease.
Kindness can even slow the formation of wrinkles. Groups of unstable molecules called free radicals produce something called oxidative stress in the body, which causes nasty physiological reactions, including hardening of the arteries and memory loss. It also leads to visible signs of ageing.
But being kind produces a substance called oxytocin, often known as the ‘love hormone’, as we make more of it when we feel love, share positive contact and have sex. The less oxytocin we have, the more free radicals we get (think of how skin ages under stress), but the converse is true too, so being kind helps smooth wrinkles.
‘Ah,’ I hear you say, ‘I’m kind but I’ve still got wrinkles.’ I take your point, but I promise you the speed at which wrinkles form can be slowed by lowering stress levels, alongside factors such as eating well and not smoking.

Think of it the other way round. What about how worry can turn hair white, or anger can be etched on a person’s face? These feelings have a visible effect. Kindness is no different.
THINKING OF OTHERS BEATS DEPRESSION
This fact was proved by a study at the University of California, Riverside, where volunteers were asked to perform five acts of kindness a week for six weeks. These included donating blood, paying for someone’s parking or visiting an elderly relative.
Using established measurements of happiness, psychologists found those who performed the kind acts became happier, while a control group who didn’t, well, didn’t. The greatest gains in happiness were when the acts were done on the same day.
Kindness can also alleviate depression: helping others has been shown to have a particularly antidepressant effect on adults over 65 years of age.
FIVE SWEET PHRASES TO MEND YOUR MARRIAGE
Kindness is relationship glue. World-renowned relationship expert John Gottman, Emeritus Professor of Psychology at the University of Washington, has found a formula to predict if a relationship will last. So long as we say, or do, more than five positive things for one negative thing, he says, a relationship is likely to work out. Positives include kindness, affection, support and listening; negatives include anger, negative judgments and selfishness.
Professor Gottman and his colleagues studied 700 newlywed couples for 15 minutes and, by counting the positives and negatives, predicted with 94 per cent accuracy who would still be together ten years later.
Kindness can also alleviate depression: helping others has been shown to have a particularly antidepressant effect on adults over 65 years of age.
COMPASSION CAN PROTECT YOUR HEART
Just as embarrassment causes our face to flush, while excitement speeds up heart rate, feelings caused by kindness affect our body, especially the heart.
This is where our old friend oxytocin comes in. It causes cells along our artery walls to relax. When our arteries widen, our blood pressure goes down. This means protection against heart attack and stroke.
Frequent kind or affectionate acts can have cumulative effects, leading over time to a sustained lowering of blood pressure.
AND BEST OF ALL... IT’S CONTAGIOUS
Sitting in a coffee shop the other day, I watched a woman hand a sandwich and hot drink to a homeless man. It was a heartwarming act, unnoticed by most. But I felt uplifted.
When I left, I found myself making an extra effort to be helpful. The woman provoked in me an impulse to be kind too.
Social scientists talk about the ‘three-degree rule’ — each time we are kind, we inspire someone else to be kind (one degree), who inspires someone else (two degrees), who inspires someone else (three degrees). Through one act, you can set in motion a chain of positive events.

I’d like to challenge you to perform at least one act of kindness a day for seven days. I’ve set ground rules for the acts:
1. They must be different.
2. You have to push yourself out of your comfort zone once.
3. One must be anonymous.
Here are some ideas:
Tell someone in a shop they’re doing their job well.
Use an online supermarket service and send a box of food to a family you know needs it.
Write a letter of gratitude to someone who influenced you.
Leave money at a coffee shop till and ask the manager to use it to pay for everyone’s coffee.
Tell someone they look great.
Offer your bus seat to someone who needs it more.
Get someone breakfast in bed.
Visit an elderly person and listen to their stories.
