That Hate Me

Dear Friends,

Greetings! We have featured John PiIgers material several times in the past. In his article below, “Anything that flies on everything that moves!”, he does a very good job of exposing and explaining the current situation in the middle-east.

It can be very difficult for many of us to try and comprehend the mindset of the leaders in today's, and for that matter yesterday's world.

We have been taught all of our lives that our leaders for the most part, are benign, caring individuals who surround themselves with like-minded people for their counselors and inspiration.

However, make no mistake that whoever is in power has an agenda that does not favor you or I, but the very rich and powerful. Most of the worlds leaders are neither benign nor caring individuals, although they know how to “act” that way.

Although we do not approve of George Carlin's use of foul language or his religious views, on this subject, he did know who ran the world.

In the US, the UK, and much of the western world people often wonder why things don't change when a different party or leader is in power. That is because most western so called democracies have agenda driven politics. That is why things continue to deteriorate regardless of which party or leader is in power.

Voting has become a charade. The following article is from the International Business Times.

Jimmy Carter: US “has no functioning democracy”

The former president weighs in on NSA and the future of Internet platforms like Google and Facebook

Former U.S. president Jimmy Carter is so concerned about the NSA spying scandal that he thinks it has essentially resulted in a suspension of American democracy.

“America does not at the moment have a functioning democracy,” he said at an event in Atlanta on Tuesday sponsored by the Atlantik Bruecke, a private nonprofit association working to further the German-U.S. relationship. The association’s name is German for “Atlantic bridge.”

Carter’s remarks didn’t appear in the American mainstream press but were reported from Atlanta by the German newsmagazine Der Spiegel, whose Washington correspondent Gregor Peter Schmitz said on Twitter he was present at the event. The story doesn’t appear in the English-language section of the Spiegel website and is only available in German.

Why the continual wars and bloodshed? Are you aware the Bible says that there are people who actually love death. “All they that hate me love death.” Proverbs 8:36.

We have published this chapter before, how Solomon describes how the ungodly think. In the Apocrypha book of Ecclesiasticus also called Wisdom, chapter two, it describes what we would today call a sociopath.

Since you and I do not, or should not, think this way, it is hard to understand these people.

“For the ungodly said, reasoning with themselves, but not aright, Our life is short and tedious, and in the death of a man there is no remedy: neither was there any man known to have returned from the grave. For we are born at all adventure: and we shall be hereafter as though we had never been: for the breath in our nostrils is as smoke, and a little spark in the moving of our heart: Which being extinguished, our body shall be turned into ashes, and our spirit shall vanish as the soft air, And our name shall be forgotten in time, and no man shall have our works in remembrance, and our life shall pass away as the trace of a cloud, and shall be dispersed as a mist, that is driven away with the beams of the sun, and overcome with the heat thereof.

They are past feeling, they have no empathy for their fellow human beings.

They are the ultimate 'entitlement' group of people. Unfortunately, this mindset has filtered down to millions of people particularly in the western world and specifically in the USA.

Is it any wonder that the people with this mentality hate Christians, the Bible, God and Jesus in particular.

If we know anything about Jesus and his sample and His mentality it was in complete contrast to the “selfie” philosophy that seems to have permeated our world.

Jesus came to set us free from the bondage of this world and the things of this world.

Since we are in a spiritual warfare, we can know where a lot of the inspiration originates for “those who love death”. Jesus even said of his enemies, “Ye are of your father the devil”. John 8:44

Thank God He is coming back soon, after the Great Tribulation.

Thank God for Jesus. As bad as the world is today, and the even worse mess it is going to be in tomorrow, we can always find hope.

NEWLY-FOUND DOCUMENT HOLDS EYEWITNESS ACCOUNT OF JESUS PERFORMING MIRACLE

Rome| An Italian expert studying a first century document written by the Roman historian Marcus Velleius Paterculus that was recently discovered in the archives of the Vatican, found what is presumed to be the first eyewitness account ever recorded of a miracle of Jesus Christ. The author describes a scene that he allegedly witnessed, in which a prophet and teacher that he names Iēsous de Nazarenus, resuscitated a stillborn boy and handed him back to his mother.

Historian and archivist Ignazio Perrucci, was hired by the Vatican authorities in 2012, to sort, analyze and classify some 6,000 ancient documents that had been uncovered in the gigantic archive vaults. He was already very excited when he noticed that the author of the text was the famous Roman historian Velleius, but he was completely stunned when he realized the nature of the content.

Professor Perrucci found the text in the archives of the Vatican, while searching amongst a bundle of personal letters and other trivial documents dating from the Roman era.

The text as a whole is a narrative of the author’s return journey from Parthia to Rome that occurred in 31 AD, recorded in a highly rhetorical style of four sheets of parchment. He describes many different episodes taking place during his trip, like a a violent sandstorm in Mesopotamia and visit to a temple in Melitta (modern day Mdina, in Malta).

The part of the text that really caught M. Perrucci’s attention is an episode taking place in the city of Sebaste (near modern day Nablus, in the West Bank). The author first describes the arrival of a great leader in the town with a group of disciples and followers, causing many of the lower class people from neighbouring villages to gather around them. According to Velleius, that great man’s name was Iēsous de Nazarenus, a Greco-Latin translation of Jesus’ Hebrew name, Yeshua haNotzri.

Upon entering town, Jesus would have visited the house of a woman named Elisheba, who had just given birth to a stillborn child. Jesus picked up the dead child and uttered a prayer in Aramaic to the heavens, which unfortunately the author describes as “immensus”, meaning incomprehensible. To the crowd’s surprise and amazement, the baby came back to life almost immediately, crying and squirming like a healthy newborn.

Marcus Velleius Paterculus, being a Roman officer of Campanian origins, seems to perceive Jesus Christ as a great doctor and miracle man, without associating him in any way to the Jewish concept of Messiah.

Many tests and analysis have been realized over the last weeks to determine the authenticity of the manuscript. The composition of the parchment and ink, the literary style and handwriting have all been carefully scrutinized and were considered to be entirely legitimate. The dating analysis also revealed that the sheepskin parchment on which the text is written, does indeed date from the 1st century of this era, more precisely from between 20-45 AD.

This new text from an author known for his reliability, brings a brand new perspective on the life of the historical character that is Jesus of Nazareth. It comes to confirm the Gospels on the facts that he was known for accomplishing miracles and that his sheer presence in a town was enough to attract crowds of people.

A complete and official translation of the document should be made available online in many different languages over the next few weeks, but the impact of the discovery is already felt in the scientific community. Many scholars have already saluted the finding as one of the greatest breakthrough ever realized in the study of the historical life of Jesus, while others have expressed doubts about the conclusions of Professor Perrucci and demand for more tests to be performed by other scientific institutions before drawing any conclusions.

Lunar eclipse on Jewish holiday gains global following

A lunar eclipse that graced the night skies across parts of the globe early Wednesday “dazzled” viewers, according to media reports on the rare occurrence.

USA Today reported it was a “gorgeous ‘blood moon’” and said in Australia “whoops of joy went up at the Sydney Observatory.”

“Very spectacular,” astronomer Geoff Wyatt told USA Today. “The cloud certainly got in the way, but we’ve seen it during totality and, of course, that’s always the highlight – to see that lovely, reddish-brown color.”

A headline published in Detroit said the event “dazzles sky-gazers” and explained the “blood moon” derives its coppery red color from the moon’s surface reflecting all of the sunsets and sunrises on Earth.

CBN said the event “enthralls” millions.

“Some biblical observers have noted a link between the appearance of blood moons throughout history and important events in the Middle East – specifically Israel,” CNN said.

The report only hints at the significance of the “blood moon” eclipse, which not only occurred on the Feast of Tabernacles but was the second in a tetrad. A tetrad is a rare series of four lunar eclipses that are occurring on Jewish holidays this year and in 2015.

The first was on Passover, and in 2015 the eclipses also will be on Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles.

Pastor Mark Biltz, whose “Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs” links the heavenly events to much more than nature, believes they are “vital to understanding the importance of God’s timetable and calendar.”

“This blood moon seen at the beginning of the Feast of Tabernacles is God’s sign in the heavens according to Genesis 1:14,” Biltz told WND.

“According to Zechariah 14, it is at the Feast of Tabernacles where all the nations have to come up to Jerusalem and recognize it as the capital of Israel. Representatives from every nation have to recognize the king of Israel and follow his instruction or they will receive no rain in their country and there will be a plague. This blood moon is a precursor warning that this time is drawing near!”

NASA says tetrads have occurred previously, but they are rare and even more so when they occur on the biblical holidays of Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. When such tetrads have happened in the past, they have coincided with momentous events in the history of the Jewish people. The 1967 Six-Day War and the 1948 resurrection of the nation of Israel are two examples.

Biltz, who discovered the ties between the blood moons phenomenon and the religious days, has said it may indicate something historic.

“All these signs, coming together at one time, are potentially the culminating signals that God is closing this chapter of human history,” Biltz said. “This could be the final curtain call before the Great Tribulation mentioned in the Bible. God has always wanted to warn His people, and the rest of the world, before He intervenes. What better way to communicate to us than through the universal language of heavenly signs that speak to every tribe, tongue, and nation?”

Sweden Will Recognize State of Palestine

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven says he plans to recognize Palestine as a state.

Sweden’s new center-left government will recognize the state of Palestine in a move that will make it the first major European country to take the step, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven said on Friday.

The U.N. General Assembly approved the de facto recognition of the sovereign state of Palestine in 2012 but the European Union and most EU countries, have yet to give official recognition.

“The conflict between Israel and Palestine can only be solved with a two-state solution, negotiated in accordance with international law,” Lofven said during his inaugural address in parliament.

“A two-state solution requires mutual recognition and a will to peaceful co-existence. Sweden will therefore recognize the state of Palestine.”

For the Palestinians, Sweden’s move will be a welcome boost for its ambitions.

With its reputation as an honest broker in international affairs and with an influential voice in EU foreign policy, the decision may well make other countries sit up and pay attention at a time when the Palestinians are threatening unilateral moves towards statehood.

However, there is likely to be strong criticism of Sweden from Israel, as well as from the United States and the EU, which maintain that an independent Palestinian state should only emerge through a negotiated process.

Within the EU, some countries, such as Hungary, Poland and Slovakia recognize Palestine, but they did so before joining the 28-member bloc.

If the center-left government fulfills its plans, Sweden would be the first country to recognize Palestine while being a member of the European Union.

The Social Democrats and Greens hold a minority of seats in parliament and the incoming center-left government is likely to be one of Sweden’s weakest for decades.

The former center-right government would not recognize Palestine as the Palestinian authorities did not control their territory.The Palestinians want an independent state in the West Bank and Gaza, with its capital in East Jerusalem. While Gaza’s boundaries are clearly defined, the precise territory of what would constitute Palestine in the West Bank and East Jerusalem will only be determined via negotiations with Israel on a two-state solution, negotiations which are currently suspended.

EXCLUSIVE: Saudi Regime Alarmed over Disclosure of Close Ties with Israel

TEHRAN (FNA)- Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Abdulaziz bin Abdullah voiced concern about the disclosure of the close relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv, specially when Muslims from across the world are in Saudi Arabia for Hajj rituals.

"After a meeting between Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, also a former foreign minister, with Saudi Prince Turki bin Faisal al-Saud in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting late September, and given the decreasing influence of Riyadh in the region and among the Muslims, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah expressed dire concern about the disclosure of the close relations with Tel Aviv, specially when a large number of Muslims have gathered in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina for Hajj rituals," an informed source told FNA.

According to the report, in a secret meeting between a close advisor to Abdulaziz bin Abdullah and Saudi Interior Minister Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, the two sides discussed the serious challenges facing Saudi Arabia in the near future.

"At the start of the meeting, the representative of Abdulaziz bin Abdullah elaborated on the meetings between certain high-ranking Saudi officials, specially Turki bin Faisal, and Zionist officials, mostly held in Aqaba port, in which Riyadh undertook some commitments," the source who called for anonymity due to security concerns, said.

The source quoted Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud as saying that the most important subjects raised during the meeting between the Saudi and Israeli officials included 1. Strengthening cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Israel in defeating the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, 2. All-out cooperation to prevent a nuclear deal between Iran and the West in a way that Tehran's relations with the western states will be experience serious trouble and lead the nuclear talks to a failure, 3. Finding new ways to accelerate and facilitate economic, political and foreign policy relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, 4. Given the existence of differences between Saudi Arabia and Qatar on the political, territorial, economic and regional issues, Israel undertook to support Riyadh's stances and force Qatar to accept the preconditions of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE for ending the existing conflicts, and 5. During the meeting between Turki al-Faisal and Tzipi Livni in New York, Saudi Arabia has presented a dual-track approach to play with Iran which started with Turki al-Faisal's meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in New York.

"During the meeting between the two Saudi officials in Riyadh, Abdulaziz's representative told Nayef that the issues raised in the meetings with the Israeli officials were undoubtedly Riyadh's most important goals but given the presence of Muslims in Saudi Arabia for Hajj rituals the relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv should never be allowed to come under the spotlight, warning him that otherwise there will start a crisis which may lead to the overthrow of the Saudi dynasty," the source told FNA.The informed source revealed that at present, the Saudi princes, specially "Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Saud a-Feisal and Turki al-Feisal have intense differences on many important issues".

From Pol Pot to ISIS: “Anything that flies on everything that moves”

In transmitting President Richard Nixon's orders for a "massive" bombing of Cambodia in 1969, Henry Kissinger said, "Anything that flies on everything that moves". As Barack Obama ignites his seventh war against the Muslim world since he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, the orchestrated hysteria and lies make one almost nostalgic for Kissinger's murderous honesty.

As a witness to the human consequences of aerial savagery - including the beheading of victims, their parts festooning trees and fields - I am not surprised by the disregard of memory and history, yet again. A telling example is the rise to power of Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge, who had much in common with today's Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS). They, too, were ruthless medievalists who began as a small sect. They, too, were the product of an American-made apocalypse, this time in Asia.

According to Pol Pot, his movement had consisted of "fewer than 5,000 poorly armed guerrillas uncertain about their strategy, tactics, loyalty and leaders". Once Nixon's and Kissinger's B52 bombers had gone to work as part of "Operation Menu", the west's ultimate demon could not believe his luck.

The Americans dropped the equivalent of five Hiroshimas on rural Cambodia during 1969-73. They levelled village after village, returning to bomb the rubble and corpses. The craters left monstrous necklaces of carnage, still visible from the air. The terror was unimaginable. A former Khmer Rouge official described how the survivors "froze up and they would wander around mute for three or four days. Terrified and half-crazy, the people were ready to believe what they were told... That was what made it so easy for the Khmer Rouge to win the people over."

A Finnish Government Commission of Enquiry estimated that 600,000 Cambodians died in the ensuing civil war and described the bombing as the "first stage in a decade of genocide". What Nixon and Kissinger began, Pol Pot, their beneficiary, completed. Under their bombs, the Khmer Rouge grew to a formidable army of 200,000.

ISIS has a similar past and present. By most scholarly measure, Bush and Blair's invasion of Iraq in 2003 led to the deaths of some 700,000 people - in a country that had no history of jihadism. The Kurds had done territorial and political deals; Sunni and Shia had class and sectarian differences, but they were at peace; intermarriage was common. Three years before the invasion, I drove the length of Iraq without fear. On the way I met people proud, above all, to be Iraqis, the heirs of a civilization that seemed, for them, a presence.

Bush and Blair blew all this to bits. Iraq is now a nest of jihadism. Al-Qaeda - like Pol Pot's "jihadists" - seized the opportunity provided by the onslaught of Shock and Awe and the civil war that followed. "Rebel" Syria offered even greater rewards, with CIA and Gulf state ratlines of weapons, logistics and money running through Turkey. The arrival of foreign recruits was inevitable. A former British ambassador, Oliver Miles, wrote recently, "The [Cameron] government seems to be following the example of Tony Blair, who ignored consistent advice from the Foreign Office, MI5 and MI6 that our Middle East policy - and in particular our Middle East wars - had been a principal driver in the recruitment of Muslims in Britain for terrorism here."

ISIS is the progeny of those in Washington and London who, in destroying Iraq as both a state and a society, conspired to commit an epic crime against humanity. Like Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, ISIS are the mutations of a western state terror dispensed by a venal imperial elite undeterred by the consequences of actions taken at great remove in distance and culture. Their culpability is unmentionable in "our" societies.

It is 23 years since this holocaust enveloped Iraq, immediately after the first Gulf War, when the US and Britain hijacked the United Nations Security Council and imposed punitive "sanctions" on the Iraqi population - ironically, reinforcing the domestic authority of Saddam Hussein. It was like a medieval siege. Almost everything that sustained a modern state was, in the jargon, "blocked" - from chlorine for making the water supply safe to school pencils, parts for X-ray machines, common painkillers and drugs to combat previously unknown cancers carried in the dust from the southern battlefields contaminated with Depleted Uranium.

Just before Christmas 1999, the Department of Trade and Industry in London restricted the export of vaccines meant to protect Iraqi children against diphtheria and yellow fever. Kim Howells, a medical doctor and parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Blair government, explained why. "The children's vaccines", he said, "were capable of being used in weapons of mass destruction". The British Government could get away with such an outrage because media reporting of Iraq - much of it manipulated by the Foreign Office - blamed Saddam Hussein for everything.

Under a bogus "humanitarian" Oil for Food Programme, $100 was allotted for each Iraqi to live on for a year. This figure had to pay for the entire society's infrastructure and essential services, such as power and water. "Imagine," the UN Assistant Secretary General, Hans Von Sponeck, told me, "setting that pittance against the lack of clean water, and the fact that the majority of sick people cannot afford treatment, and the sheer trauma of getting from day to day, and you have a glimpse of the nightmare. And make no mistake, this is deliberate. I have not in the past wanted to use the word genocide, but now it is unavoidable."

Disgusted, Von Sponeck resigned as UN Humanitarian Co-ordinator in Iraq. His predecessor, Denis Halliday, an equally distinguished senior UN official, had also resigned. "I was instructed," Halliday said, "to implement a policy that satisfies the definition of genocide: a deliberate policy that has effectively killed well over a million individuals, children and adults."

A study by the United Nations Children's Fund, Unicef, found that between 1991 and 1998, the height of the blockade, there were 500,000 "excess" deaths of Iraqi infants under the age of five. An American TV reporter put this to Madeleine Albright, US Ambassador to the United Nations, asking her, "Is the price worth it?" Albright replied, "We think the price is worth it."

In 2007, the senior British official responsible for the sanctions, Carne Ross, known as "Mr. Iraq", told a parliamentary selection committee, "[The US and UK governments] effectively denied the entire population a means to live." When I interviewed Carne Ross three years later, he was consumed by regret and contrition. "I feel ashamed," he said. He is today a rare truth-teller of how governments deceive and how a compliant media plays a critical role in disseminating and maintaining the deception. "We would feed [journalists] factoids of sanitised intelligence," he said, "or we'd freeze them out."

On 25 September, a headline in the Guardian read: "Faced with the horror of Isis we must act." The "we must act" is a ghost risen, a warning of the suppression of informed memory, facts, lessons learned and regrets or shame. The author of the article was Peter Hain, the former Foreign Office minister responsible for Iraq under Blair. In 1998, when Denis Halliday revealed the extent of the suffering in Iraq for which the Blair Government shared primary responsibility, Hain abused him on the BBC's Newsnight as an "apologist for Saddam". In 2003, Hain backed Blair's invasion of stricken Iraq on the basis of transparent lies. At a subsequent Labour Party conference, he dismissed the invasion as a "fringe issue".

Now Hain is demanding "air strikes, drones, military equipment and other support" for those "facing genocide" in Iraq and Syria. This will further "the imperative of a political solution". Obama has the same in mind as he lifts what he calls the "restrictions" on US bombing and drone attacks. This means that missiles and 500-pound bombs can smash the homes of peasant people, as they are doing without restriction in Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Somalia - as they did in Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos. On 23 September, a Tomahawk cruise missile hit a village in Idlib Province in Syria, killing as many as a dozen civilians, including women and children. None waved a black flag.

The day Hain's article appeared, Denis Halliday and Hans Von Sponeck happened to be in London and came to visit me. They were not shocked by the lethal hypocrisy of a politician, but lamented the enduring, almost inexplicable absence of intelligent diplomacy in negotiating a semblance of truce. Across the world, from Northern Ireland to Nepal, those regarding each other as terrorists and heretics have faced each other across a table. Why not now in Iraq and Syria.

Like Ebola from West Africa, a bacteria called "perpetual war" has crossed the Atlantic. Lord Richards, until recently head of the British military, wants "boots on the ground" now. There is a vapid, almost sociopathic verboseness from Cameron, Obama and their "coalition of the willing" - notably Australia's aggressively weird Tony Abbott - as they prescribe more violence delivered from 30,000 feet on places where the blood of previous adventures never dried. They have never seen bombing and they apparently love it so much they want it to overthrow their one potentially valuable ally, Syria. This is nothing new, as the following leaked UK-US intelligence file illustrates:

"In order to facilitate the action of liberative [sic] forces... a special effort should be made to eliminate certain key individuals [and] to proceed with internal disturbances in Syria. CIA is prepared, and SIS (MI6) will attempt to mount minor sabotage and coup de main [sic] incidents within Syria, working through contacts with individuals... a necessary degree of fear... frontier and [staged] border clashes [will] provide a pretext for intervention... the CIA and SIS should use... capabilities in both psychological and action fields to augment tension."

That was written in 1957, though it could have been written yesterday. In the imperial world, nothing essentially changes. Last year, the former French Foreign Minister Roland Dumas revealed that "two years before the Arab spring", he was told in London that a war on Syria was planned. "I am going to tell you something," he said in an interview with the French TV channel LPC, "I was in England two years before the violence in Syria on other business. I met top British officials, who confessed to me that they were preparing something in Syria... Britain was organising an invasion of rebels into Syria. They even asked me, although I was no longer Minister for Foreign Affairs, if I would like to participate... This operation goes way back. It was prepared, preconceived and planned."

The only effective opponents of ISIS are accredited demons of the west - Syria, Iran, Hezbollah. The obstacle is Turkey, an "ally" and a member of Nato, which has conspired with the CIA, MI6 and the Gulf medievalists to channel support to the Syrian "rebels", including those now calling themselves ISIS. Supporting Turkey in its long-held ambition for regional dominance by overthrowing the Assad government beckons a major conventional war and the horrific dismemberment of the most ethnically diverse state in the Middle East.

A truce - however difficult to achieve - is the only way out of this imperial maze; otherwise, the beheadings will continue. That genuine negotiations with Syria should be seen as "morally questionable" (the Guardian) suggests that the assumptions of moral superiority among those who supported the war criminal Blair remain not only absurd, but dangerous.

Together with a truce, there should be an immediate cessation of all shipments of war materials to Israel and recognition of the State of Palestine. The issue of Palestine is the region's most festering open wound, and the oft-stated justification for the rise of Islamic extremism. Osama bin Laden made that clear. Palestine also offers hope. Give justice to the Palestinians and you begin to change the world around them.

More than 40 years ago, the Nixon-Kissinger bombing of Cambodia unleashed a torrent of suffering from which that country has never recovered. The same is true of the Blair-Bush crime in Iraq. With impeccable timing, Henry Kissinger's latest self-serving tome has just been released with its satirical title, "World Order". In one fawning review, Kissinger is described as a "key shaper of a world order that remained stable for a quarter of a century". Tell that to the people of Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Chile, East Timor and all the other victims of his "statecraft". Only when "we" recognise the war criminals in our midst will the blood begin to dry.

PAKISTANI TERROR GROUP SWEARS ALLEGIANCE TO ISIS

Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan declaration of allegiance to ISIS

WASHINGTON – The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan – the Taliban group that seeks the overthrow of the Pakistani government – has sworn allegiance to the Islamic State, or ISIS, and has directed jihadists across the region to help ISIS set up its caliphate.

ISIS declared its caliphate from territory seized last June from northeastern Syria to western and central Iraq, and threatens to take over all of the Levant that includes Jordan, the rest of Syria, Lebanon and Israel.

ISIS and its caliph, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, already have received backing from Abdul Maulana Aziz, a follower of the Afghan Taliban supreme leader Mulla Mohammad Omar who led the infamous Red Mosque rebellion in Pakistan.

Aziz also is close to the Tehnik-i-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, as WND recently revealed.

The TTP seeks to overthrow by violent means the Pakistani government, which possesses nuclear weapons.

Aziz’s support for Baghdadi and ISIS comes as Pakistan, a predominantly Sunni country, faces yet another political crisis that threatens the existence of its democratic secular government. Political opponents of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have demanded his resignation, which he has refused.

His opponents want sweeping constitutional reform to replace parliamentary democracy and to confront alleged corruption that has crept into the electoral process.

However, jihadist groups see an opportunity now to assert their influence as Pakistan’s political crisis grows worse.

Until now, the Afghan Taliban had been aligned with al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri.

As further evidence of the TTP’s allegiance to ISIS, the jihadist group’s supporters have been seen in the Pakistani city of Peshawar distributing pamphlets praising ISIS.

In addition, ISIS flags have been seen in street rallies in Indian-administered Kashmir.

The TTP announced its support for ISIS in a message celebrating the Muslim holy festival of Eid al-Adha.

“Oh our brothers, we are proud of you in your victories,” the message said. “We are with you in your happiness and your sorrow.

“In these troubled days, we call for your patience and stability, especially now that all your enemies are united against you. Please put all your rivalries behind you. … All Muslims in the world have great expectations of you,” the message added. “We are with you, we will provide you with mujahideen (fighters) and with every possible support.”

The message was released following posting of a video on Friday of the beheading of ISIS’ latest victim, British aid worker Alan Henning.

Like ISIS, the TTP is funded by supporters in Gulf Arab countries to include Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

TTP’s swearing of allegiance to ISIS potentially extends the jihadist groups influence and potential for a caliphate from the Middle east into South Asia.

Although the TTP and the Afghan Taliban are separate entities with differing goals, they have been known to collaborate on occasion. The Afghan Taliban seeks to take over Afghanistan itself.

With the Afghan Taliban biding its time until U.S. forces completely leave Afghanistan by 2017, ISIS has the opportunity to extend its influence in that country as well.

The TTP’s support for ISIS is just the latest indication that a number of jihadist groups, previously affiliated with al-Qaida, are calling for a truce between the two groups to unite against the western “Crusader attacks.”

The call comes in the form of a proposal titled “An Initiative and Call for a Ceasefire Between Factions in Syria.”

“Due to the Crusader attacks on our Muslim brothers in Syria and Iraq,” the proposal called on all jihadist groups to put aside their disagreements, many of which have resulted in fighting among the various factions.

“We call on all factions in Syria and Iraq to cease fighting among themselves no later than the evening of (Oct. 3, 2014), for perhaps Allah most high will descend his mercies upon Syria and its people in the prayer of Muslim crowds on that great day.

“And we request from all the factions that they announce their position regarding this initiative in their manner in three days from the date of the publication of this statement, so that it can be made known and clear who rejects this blessed initiative.”

The jihadist proposal pointed out that 40 countries had united “and gathered together to wage war against” Islam itself.

“So, does our loyalty to Islam and its people not require of us to stop the infighting under the bombardment of this Crusader campaign at the very least if a permanent end to it is not possible?” the proposal asked.

Since last year, ISIS has been in a pitched battle with al-Qaida-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra, although there have been increasing indications that many fighters from al-Nusra are joining ISIS due to its declaration of a caliphate over territory it has captured and occupied. Al-Qaida similarly seeks a caliphate but hasn’t taken over territory as ISIS has.

How Curiosity Enhances The Brain And Stimulates The Reward System To Improve Learning And Memory

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but new research shows that inquisitiveness can actually improve learning by stimulating the brain’s reward system. In other words, curiosity serves as a form of internal motivation that can help us learn more quickly.

The study, published in the journal Neuron, found that people who were curious about a subject learned more and remembered more information than others. So instead of being a punishable and risky quality, curiosity "may put the brain in a state that allows it to learn and retain any kind of information, like a vortex that sucks in what you are motivated to learn, and also everything around it,” Dr. Matthias Gruber of the University of California at Davis said in the press release.

The researchers had participants read a series of trivia questions, then allowed them to rate their own curiosity or desire to find out the answers. Afterward, they were given a trivia question, then shown a picture of a face. The participants were asked to remember the faces, and given a memory test for the trivia questions; the ones who were curious about learning the answer to the question learned the information better than the others. These curious knowledge-seekers were also better in remembering unrelated information, like the faces presented — things they weren’t necessarily curious about. They were also quicker at retaining the information they learned that day.

Perhaps most significantly, when curiosity is stimulated, the researchers found that there was a higher activity in the brain area that has to do with reward; this was also connected to dopamine activity. “We showed that intrinsic motivation actually recruits the very same brain areas that are heavily involved in tangible, extrinsic motivation,” Gruber said. Curiosity was also linked to increased activity in the hippocampus, which is the part of the brain that makes new memories.

“So curiosity recruits the reward system, and interactions between the reward system and the hippocampus seem to put the brain in a state in which you are more likely to learn and retain information, even if that information is not of particular interest or importance,” Dr. Charan Ranganath, another author of the study and lead investigator, said in the press release. In an interview with The Guardian, Ranganath said that “once you light that fire of curiosity, you put the brain in a state that’s more conducive to learning. Once you get this ramp-up of dopamine, the brain becomes more like a sponge that’s ready to soak up whatever is happening.”
