Dear Friends,

Greetings! As we have mentioned in the past, the above verse is one of six verses where the word Christ can be found in the Septuagint version of the Bible.

This week we are starting off with a link to the radio program, NIGHTLIGHT, which our friend and colleague Simon Peterson produces from Uganda. We found his Christmas special for 2016 very inspiring and uplifting and think you will enjoy it as well.

We are also featuring a video and article from the newspaper Arutz Sheva. Arutz Sheva is a newspaper based in Israel and the title of the article is: “Watch: Why the Temple needs to be rebuilt

How Santa Claus Points to Jesus

I recently asked my three-year old granddaughter — a major joy in my life — whose birthday we celebrate at Christmas time.

"Uh," she responded, "Santa Claus?"

D'oh!

Some people think Santa Claus is upstaging Jesus. I remember a controversial cover of Christianity Today long ago, showing Santa Claus crucified on a cross, hung up by strands of Christmas lights. More recently, a group of atheists put Santa on billboards to encourage people to skip church at Christmas.

But Santa is based on the life of a real man whose generosity came from his following Jesus. Thus, Santa Claus actually points to Jesus.

Bill Federer has written much about how St. Nicholas became Santa Claus in his book, There Really Is a Santa Claus, which provides the basis for much of this article.

St. Nicholas (c. 270-343) was a real man. He served as a bishop in Myra, in what is modern day Turkey. He was one of the 318 bishops who participated in the Nicene Council, which produced the Nicene Creed.

Nicholas directly opposed Arius, who was ruled a heretic because of his false teaching about the trinity and the divinity of Jesus. Arius' proposed demotion of Jesus' divinity caused the Council of Nicaea to be called in the first place.

Bishop Nicholas was a very generous man. He inherited a lot of money, and he gave away a lot of it anonymously.

Nicholas reportedly said: "The giver of every good and perfect gift has called upon us to mimic God's giving, by grace, through faith, and this is not of ourselves."

Jesus said when you give, don't be like the hypocrites who blow the trumpet and announce to all what they give. Instead, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your Father who knows all things and sees what is done in secret knows when you are generous.

Nicholas was able to put these principles into practice before he became a bishop. Federer tells us that according to tradition, Nicholas learned of a merchant, who lost everything because of debt. The creditors threatened to seize his home, leaving the man and his three beautiful daughters with nothing.

He wanted to get his daughters married, lest they be seized by the creditors and sold into slavery and prostitution. But the man had no dowries for his daughters. A dowry (wedding gift) was needed for any marriage to be legally recognized.

The first daughter was pledged to be married, but could not be without a dowry. One night, as the story goes, Nicholas anonymously threw a pouch of gold into the window of the home of the merchant for the dowry for the first daughter.

Then later, in the middle of another night, Nicholas did the same thing for the second daughter. The father then exclaimed, "O merciful God, Author of our salvation, Who hast redeemed me by Thine Own Blood and now redeemest by gold my home and my daughters from the nets of the enemy, do Thou Thyself show me the minister of Thy mercy and Thy philanthropic goodness. Show me this earthly angel who preserves us from sinful perdition ..."

Then came help for the third daughter. Again, St. Nicholas took some gold and tossed it into the house through the window. According to the legend, it landed in one of the stockings of the daughter that was hanging up by the fireplace to dry. This is the supposed source of the tradition of Christmas stockings.

The merchant got up, ran out, and caught St. Nicholas. Nicholas swore him to secrecy, and the father reportedly said, "If the Lord great in mercy had not raised me up through thy generosity, then I, an unfortunate father, already long ago would be lost together with my daughters in the fire of Sodom. Now we are saved through thee and delivered from a horrible fall into sin."

Nicholas gave God alone the glory and in his humility, he made the father swear that as long as Nicholas was alive, no one would know that he was the benefactor.

From the story of St. Nicholas has ultimately come the tradition of Santa Claus — whose name is derived from the Dutch way of saying St. Nicholas. But it all grows out of the Christian tradition.

D. James Kennedy and I point out in our book, What If Jesus Had Never Been Born? that if there were no Jesus, there would be no Santa Claus. Thus, like so many other things in this world, when the truth is told about the origin of the Santa Claus, it points to the glory of our Lord.

And as radio broadcaster Paul Harvey was wont to say, "And now you know the rest of the story."

Although we do not agree with the information put forth in the following video we have never the less decided to publish it as it pertains directly to the building of the Third Temple in Jerusalem.

Temple Institute releases new video to bust age-old myths about the Temple and its relevance to our time.

The Temple Institute, in honor of Hanukkah, just released a new thought-provoking video series to bust age-old myths about the Temple and its relevance in our time. The first video in the animated “Holy Temple Myth Busters!“ series delves into some of the most controversial questions associated with the Temple and why it is a religious obligation to build the Holy Temple today.

The introductory video deals with questions like: Who needs the Holy Temple anyway? Haven’t we evolved? Don’t we have to wait for the messiah to build it? What about the Mosque? Didn’t the rabbis say it was all symbolic?

The new series is narrated by the organization’s International Director, Rabbi Chaim Richman, whose weekly Torah classes are watched by thousands of people worldwide.

Rabbi Chaim Richman commented: “The Holy Temple Myth Busters series is for people that truly want to understand what the Torah says about the Holy Temple, as opposed to the many mantras and misnomers that have been repeated for generations.”

He added: “We launched the video series to coincide with Hanukkah, when we celebrate the Hasmonean rededication of the Temple, because it is imperative that we understand our religious requirement to rebuild it today. The Torah is very clear about the Jewish people’s obligation to build the Holy Temple and there is no precedent in Jewish history for buildings of millions of tons falling from heaven, as is commonly believed.”

The Temple Institute is a center of research - and preparation - for the Holy Temple. In addition to educational activity focused on the centrality of the Temple Mount and Holy Temple, they have also recreated over 60 sacred vessels for use in the Third Holy Temple, which can be seen at their Visitors Center in the Old City of Jerusalem. The Institute’s Youtube channel has attracted a broad audience, with over 5,000,000 viewers.

Chaim Richmand and Robert from People of the Keys

Chaim Richman is certainly correct when he said, “Christian beliefs and expectations regarding the Holy Temple are in diametric opposition to Jewish belief".

The Jews, of course, believe that the Temple is where their messiah will sit to rule Israel. It may also be noted that after visiting The Temple Institute we were informed that the Jews, at least the ones involved with “The Temple Institute”, believe their messiah will be a purely political leader with no supernatural powers and that the issue of spirituality will be in the oversight of the high priest.

Christians, or at least the majority of those who study Bible prophecy, believe that the rebuilt temple will eventually be occupied by the antichrist from where he will proclaim that he is God.

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come,] except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

“And he (the antichrist) shall do according to his will, and the king shall exalt and magnify himself against every god, and shall speak great swelling words, and shall prosper until the indignation shall be accomplished: for it is coming to an end. And he shall not regard any gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, neither shall he regard any deity: for he shall magnify himself above all. And he shall pitch the tabernacle of his palace between the seas in the holy mountain of beauty: but he shall come to his portion, and there is none to deliver him.” Daniel 11:36-37, 45

We believe here is however a possibility that Jesus will one day rule from that rebuilt temple in Jerusalmem. Following is a document we first published in September 2009 titled “The Word Of The Lord”.

"Out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem."

The Word Of The Lord

There has been much in the news recently concerning a peace treaty, (covenant Daniel 9:27) between Israel and the Palestinians some of which we have published on this web site. There has also been numerous articles dealing with the rebuilding of the third temple in Jerusalem, some of which have also appeared on this web site.

Those familiar with Bible prophecy will know the significance of these events,in that they herald the soon coming returning of Jesus Christ and His thousand year reign on earth,more commonly referred to as the "millennium".

We would like to give you some thoughts we have had on the third temple to let you draw your own conclusions. We want to say right from the beginning that this is a theory and we are not saying "Thus saith the Lord......". We found these points interesting and thought you may as well. If you have any feedback concerning these ideas we would be happy to hear from you.

Thoughts concerning the Third Temple.

"And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. Revelation11:1-2 “

This temple described here seems that it could only be the rebuilt Jewish temple from which the Anti-Christ will rule. Now the question that arises, is that in verse one it calls this temple 'the temple of God'. How can the rebuilt Jewish Temple from which the Antichrist rules be called the "Temple of God".

Also, Matthew 24:15 states:

"When ye, therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)”

Again the Temple or at least the inner sanctuary, is referred to as the 'holy place'.

Daniel 8:11 and 12 says:

"Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host,...And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of the transgression , and it cast down the truth to the ground;..."

We again see a reference to 'truth' in the temple and the prince.

Well one possible explanation that we thought could be an explanation is that up until the time of the breaking of the covenant the religious Jews are actually allowed to worship in the temple. With today's technology, through lasers or other means a fake but very realistic God-like 'Shekaniah Glory' could be made to appear between the wings of the Cherubim.

This explanation, however, does not really answer the question as to why it is called "The Temple of God". We know from Romans 2:28, and 29:

"For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God".

The Scriptures show that God is no longer in Jewish ceremonial worship. When Jesus was crucified and the veil of the Temple rent, the Ark of the Covenant was not even there. It disappeared just a few years before the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem along with God's presence as manifested in the 'Shekaniah Glory'. (See 2 Maccabees chapter 2.)

A possible clue could come from Isaiah 2:2-4:

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more".

We know that these verses refer to the "Thousand Year Reign" of Christ upon the earth. We also know that Jerusalem serves as the center of Christ's Kingdom on earth from where "...the law and the word of the Lord" go forth. (Even though in Revelation 11:8, it is referred to as 'Sodom' and 'Egypt'.)

Then in Revelation 20:7-9:

"And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them."

Again 'the beloved city"'would seem to be referring to Jerusalem during the thousand year reign of Christ. Therefore Jerusalem seems to be of primary importance throughout the entire thousand year reign of Christ. Which brings us to a possible explanation poised at the beginning of this letter.

We cannot find in the Bible the fate of the Third Temple explained. In the past it seemed it was assumed it was destroyed during the Battle of Armageddon, but nowhere is that written, that we are aware of.

The third temple, from what we understand, is to be rebuilt and designed to the specifications of the earlier temples. If the Temple is not destroyed, what is to prevent Jesus from cleansing and sanctifying that Temple for His use, "..for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem" and making it his earthly headquarters during the millennium?

This could explain why Revelation 11:1, calls it "The Temple of God". Daniel 8:13 and 14 says:

"Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.”

Cleansed not destroyed.

We find there has been a precedent of such an event occurring before. The entire conquest of Canaan/Israel and Jerusalem. The land of Canaan was occupied by seven Canaanite tribes who dwelt in thirty one fortified cities which included amongst others Jericho and Jerusalem. Jerusalem before its conquest by the Israelites was called Jebus and inhabited by a sub grouping of Canaanites called Jebusites.

To give you some idea of Canaanite religious practices we will quote from Halley's Bible Handbook:

"Baal was their principal god; Ashtoreth, Baal's wife, their principal goddess. She was the personification the reproductive principle in nature. Ishtar was her Babylonian name; Astarte her Greek and Roman name, Baalim, the plural of Baal, were images of Baal...In an excavation at Gezer, MacAlister of the Palestine Exploration Fund, 1904-1909, found, in the Canaanite stratum, which had preceded Israelite occupation, of about 1500 B.C. the ruins of a 'High Place,' which had been a temple in which they worshiped their god Baal and their goddess Asntoreth (Astarte).

Under the debris, in the 'High Place', McAllister found great numbers of jars containing the remains of children who had been sacrificed to Baal. The whole area proved to be a cemetery of new-born babes."

The very parcel of ground where Solomon's Temple was believed to have been built, was bought by King David from a Jebusite named Araunah.

The point being made here with that refernece is that God took a Satanic strong hold and turned it into the place of His presence here on earth where He dwelt between the wings of the Cherubin represented as the 'Shekinah Glory'.

If He could do that with a seat of Satan could He not do it with the rebuilt Temple from where Jesus will rule and reign for one thousand years after the battle of Armageddon!

In the Doway-Rheims version of the Bible in Jeremiah 30:18 it talks about a great destruction taking place in Jerusalem and the temple being saved.

"Thus saith the Lord: Behold I bring back the captivity of the pavilions of Jacob, and will have pity on his houses, and the city shall be built in her place, and the temple shall be found according to the order thereof." (Other versions of the Bible use the word palace instead of temple.)

This however raises another question concerning Ezekiel, chapters 40-48, which of course follow Ezekiel 38 and 39, the battle of Armageddon, and deals with the building of another temple, sometimes referred to as "Ezekiel's Temple". From what we understand this temple has never been built. There are also marked differences in the practices of this temple in that it does not exclude the gentiles. If according to Revelation 19:15 ...he (Jesus) shall rule them with a rod of iron:...why not ruling with something very similar to the Old Testament law.

(The only problem we see with all of this is animal sacrifice during the Millennium because in Isaiah 11:9 and 65:25 it says, "They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain...".)

There are also other important differences: A prince will enter through the eastern gate:

"Then he brought me back the way of the gate of the outward sanctuary which looketh toward the east; and it was shut. Then said the LORD unto me; This gate shall be shut, it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it; because the LORD, the God of Israel, hath entered in by it, therefore it shall be shut. It is for the prince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bread before the LORD; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same." Ezekiel 44:1-3

In the previous two temples that were built, the high priests entered through the south gate. Also, from reading these scriptures, especially verse three, the prince and the Lord are two separate individuals. At this point in time we do not know who the "prince" is.

Another thing different about this Temple is that, it is much bigger than the two temples proceeding it. There is, apparently, not enough room on the Temple Mount to build it, with all its courtyards etc.

One possible explanation for this is the geography of the area will be altered after Jesus returns, as explained in Zechariah 14:4:

"And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south."

This restructuring of the land after the Mount of Olives is split could provide the area needed for the completion of Ezekiel's temple.

Zechariah 14:8 is very interesting:

"And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be."

This is very similar to Ezekiel 47: 1-12:

"Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.

And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles.

Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.

Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over, for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.

Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.

And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh. And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.

But the miry places thereof and the marshes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt. And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine."

Today the Brook Kidron flows very intermittently toward the Dead Sea, but with the advent of the Mount of Olives splitting, it could very well open up underground reservoirs that could turn the Brook Kidron into a river that flows into the Dead Sea and create another river that could flow into the great Mediterranean Sea.

In Ezekiel's Temple it even describes the Levites, (who worshiped idols), still having a place of service in the Temple. Ezekiel 44:10-14

"The Levites who went far from me when Israel went astray, and who wandered from me after their idols, must bear the consequences of their sin. They may serve in my sanctuary, having charge of the gates of the temple and serving in it; they may slaughter the burnt offerings and sacrifices for the people and stand before the people and serve them. But, because they served them in the presence of their idols and made the house of Israel fall into sin, therefore I have sworn with uplifted hand that they must bear the consequences of their sin, declares the Sovereign LORD.

They are not to come near to serve me as priests or come near any of my holy things or my most holy offerings; they must bear the shame of their detestable practices.

Yet, I will put them in charge of the duties of the temple and all the work that is to be done in it."

It seems pretty clear from Zechariah 14:2,3,8-10 that, once the Lord gathers the nations against Israel, He then turns around and defends them.

"For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."

Third Temple on the Way as Priests Prepare Ritual Shabbat Showbreads

Last Saturday, a Shabbat reenactment of a Temple ritual took place in the holy city of Hebron, giving participants a taste of the Temple service as it was in Biblical times while taking a practical step towards preparing for the Third Temple.

More than 80 participants were greeted in Hebron Friday afternoon by the lighting of the Temple Menorah, lit by Shimshon Album and Rabbi Yaakov Hayman, the newly-elected chairman of the Temple Movement.

The lechem panim is unleavened bread, similar to the matzah eaten on Passover, and the 12 loaves are required by Biblical commandment to be on display inside the Temple sanctuary at all times. Cups of frankincense mixed with salt were placed on the bread.

“And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.” Leviticus 24:5

In the times of the Temple, Kohanim (men of the Jewish priestly caste) were separated into family groups that came to Jerusalem to serve in the Temple one week out of every year. The incoming group of priests would arrive on Friday to begin their service on the Sabbath. On Saturday afternoon, the outgoing priests would remove the showbread that had been on display for a week, replacing it with newly-baked bread.

“Every sabbath he shall set it in order before Hashem continually, being taken from B’nei Yisrael by an everlasting covenant.” Leviticus 24:8

The two Kohen families would then join together in a meal, eating the lechem panim that had just been replaced.
The lechem panim made a comeback on Saturday when today’s generations of Kohanim reenacted the feast as their ancestors used to do in the Temple, partaking of the lechem panim while dressed in the special clothes prepared to be used in the Temple.

The event was organized by the nascent Sanhedrin. Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the Sanhedrin, explained why Hebron and not Jerusalem was chosen for the Temple-oriented event.

“The first sacrifice ever brought by a Jew was when Abraham sacrificed a ram in place of Isaac, so the Temple service is actually rooted here, where the patriarchs are buried,” Rabbi Weiss explained to Breaking Israel News.

“And Avraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in the thicket by his horns. And Avraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt-offering in the stead of his son.” Genesis 22:13

“Before establishing his kingship and the foundations of the Temple in Jerusalem, King David was seven years in Hebron,” said Rabbi Weiss. “The seeds of the Messiah that will grow in Jerusalem and bring back the Temple service are planted here in Hebron.”

Tzipporet Chezi, a member of the Temple advocacy group Women of the Temple, organized the logistics. She explained to Breaking Israel News that the event was not intended to commemorate the lost Temples, but to look to the future.

“The ceremony was in preparation for the soon-to-be Third Temple,” she said.

Temple Movement chairman Rabbi Hayman explained why the group feels it is necessary to take steps towards building the Third Temple today.

“The Temple is not just a historical thing,” Rabbi Hayman told Breaking Israel News. “It brings peace to the world, and the world does not function properly without it.”

In December of 2014, the Inuit Elders issued a warning to NASA and the world, a warning that could very well explain the extreme weather and increasing activity being seen on the Ring of Fire today as yet another large magnitude, 7.9 earthquake, and subsequent Tsunami warning hits Papua New Guinea just this morning. Papua New Guinea sits on the Pacific Ocean's Ring of Fire.

The Inuits are indigenous people that inhabit the arctic regions of Canada, the United States and Greenland and throughout history their very lives have been dependent on being able to correctly forecast weather.... and they are warning NASA and the world that global warming isn't the cause of what we are seeing with extreme weather, earthquakes and other events.

The earth has shifted, tilted or as they put it, "wobbled" to the north and they all agree "Their sky has changed!"

The elders maintain the Sun doesn't rise were it used to, they have longer day light to hunt and the Sun is higher than it used to be and warms up quicker than before. The elders who were interviewed across the north all said the same thing, their sky has changed.

The stars the Sun and the Moon have all changed affecting the temperature, even affecting the way the wind blows, it is becoming increasingly hard to predict the weather, something that is a must on the Arctic.

The elders all agree, they believe the Earth has shifted, wobbled or tilted to the North.

STRANGE VIBRATIONS, INCREASING INTENSITY OF EQ'S AND GIGANTIC HOLE FOUND IN OCEAN FLOOR

Fast forward to present day and we note that since that warning was issued, there have been a number of extreme weather events, and an astounding number of active volcanoes noted, as well as an increase in frequency and intensity of large magnitude earthquakes all along the Ring of Fire.

As Stefan Stanford reported on December 10, 2016, hours before the massive Solomon Islands earthquake struck, there was a strange and mysterious vibration detected on seismographs all across the planet, which had the whole planet "ringing like a bell." As of yet, there is still no explanation as to what it was.

On December 15, 2016, it was reported that a gigantic hole in the ocean floor near Australia, approximately 60,000 square kilometres and is seven kilometres deep, could "cause catastrophic natural disasters," with the Sun UK describing them as "apocalyptic earthquakes and tsunamis." According to the Daily Mail "Geologists have for the first time seen and documented the Banda Detachment fault in eastern Indonesia," which is part of the Ring of Fire.

In late November it was reported that the long-held belief that the San Andreas fault, which is part of the Ring of Fire, could only rupture in isolated sections, was countered in a recent study by federal, state and academic researchers that now say the entire fault could "unzip at once," unleashing what has commonly been referred to as "The Big One."

As many as 3.5 million homes could be damaged in an 8.3-magnitude quake along a roughly 500-mile portion of the fault—compared with 1.6 million homes damaged if only the northern part of the fault were to break, or 2.3 million if the southern piece ruptured.

A quick look at an index map of recent earthquakes in California and Nevada, found linked over at Steve Quayles website this morning, gives a very good visual of the how much activity is being seen in just that one area:

Taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture, using a world map, from December 17, 2016, we see exactly how much seismic activity is happening in real time, along the Ring of Fire.

BOTTOM LINE

The Inuit elders provided warnings to NASA and to the world, warnings which had officials concerned, and since then we have seen disturbing reports as more and more scientists continue to warn of the "big one," referring a mega-quake and catastrophic events, which will not only include earthquakes and tsunamis, but volcanic activity along the Ring of Fire as well.

For example, just days ago it was reported that "3 million cubic meters of lava are ready to blow in the air at Popocatepetl," which according to Volcano Discovery, is part of the Rng of Fire as well.

Something big is happening along the Ring of Fire.

'Whole Internet Will Shut Down For 24 Hours' Says VP Of Internet Security Company - How Many Of Your Favorites Sites Will Still Be Here When It Comes Back Up?

Imagine waking up one morning, turning on your computer and it isn't just your favorite websites you cannot access, but you cannot get online at all, no browsing, no news, no internet games, no videos, no chat forums, nothing. Then when the Internet comes back up, all your favorite sites are just gone.

Readers may remember that Twitter, Spotify, Google, Paypal, Pinterest all suffered severe outages throughout the day on October 21, 2016, as well as the U.S. portion of the Disqus commenting platform, where ANP readers noted that dependent on where they were located within the the U.S., many could only access the comment sections randomly. This happened to sites all across the Internet that were housed on U.S. servers. Now, US technology security vendor LogRhythm's chief information security officer and vice president, James Carder,, is warning us that the massive Internet outages that occurred back in October, where a DDOS attack against DNS provider Dyn caused sweeping outages across the east coast, then another wave attacks took out large chunks of the west coast internet access, then the third wave hit all across America, were all just "tests."

"In 2017, we’re going to see it hit big sometime, somewhere. If the internet goes down, financial markets will tank," he said.

The security expert told Business Insider that all the signs were there this year, with criminals "testing missiles by shooting them into the ocean".

"We saw the massive [distributed denial of service] against DynDNS just a couple of months ago. That DDoS attack took down sites like Twitter and Spotify for a few hours. We saw a similar DDoS hit Brian Krebs before the attack against Dyn. These were really just tests," he said.

Carder continued on to point out "If you can prove that you can take down massive sites and a large chunk of the US internet for a few hours, a 24-hour outage seems pretty easy to do."

Interestingly we see no mention of why the predicted entire Internet outage specifies 24 hours, or how Carder knows it would only last 24 hours, nor how providers would address and rectify the issue in order to get the Internet back up and running.

GERMAN POLITICIANS WANT €500K FINES OVER FACEBOOK “FAKE NEWS”

Politicians admit they want to control public opinion

The parliamentary chairman of Germany’s Social Democratic Party (SPD), Thomas Oppermann, has asserted that social media giants like Facebook should be required to remove fake news and illegal posts within 24 hours or face fines up to €500,000 ($522,000).

“Facebook has not used the opportunity to effectively regulate the issue of complaint management itself,” Oppermann said in an interview with Der Spiegel on Friday. Therefore, “market dominating platforms like Facebook will be legally required to build a legal protection office in Germany, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,” he added.

German politicians fear that hate speech and ‘fake news’ could influence public opinion ahead of the federal elections next year, with far-right parties gaining momentum on growing discontent with Angela Merkel’s open-door refugee policy.

Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU) party has acknowledged in a statement that, while social media platforms offer “completely new possibilities of political communication,” they also harbor some dangers. The CDU claimed on Friday that Facebook and other social media sites have increasingly become platforms for spreading ‘fake news’ and hate messages, citing manipulation of political discussions on the web as one of the greatest dangers.

“Companies are responsible for what happens on their platforms. That is why they have to react,” Volker Kauder, a senior CDU member, noted.

The legislation would oblige social media platforms to set up offices to respond to complaints from people affected by hateful messages. “High penalties” would await companies that fail to meet their responsibilities, he warned.

On Thursday, Facebook said in a statement that, although it believes in “giving people a voice,” it is currently working on measures to prevent fake news from spreading on the platform, including “several ways to make it easier to report a hoax if you see one on Facebook.”

“We’ve focused our efforts on the worst of the worst, on the clear hoaxes spread by spammers for their own gain, and on engaging both our community and third party organizations,” the company said.

However, the third-party companies that Facebook has commissioned to police for hoaxes and ‘fake news’ include the Washington Post, which recently admitted to running an article relying on sham research, and two Ukrainian groups, of which one is hardline Russophobic.

German Justice Minister Heiko Maas said the government is keeping close tabs on how efficiently Facebook removes illegal content. If removal rates fail to grow, “urgent legal consequences” could follow.

“We expect significant improvements in Facebook’s removal practice. The standard for removals must be German law,” Maas told Sueddeutsche Zeitung on Friday.

Earlier this week, the International Auschwitz Committee accused Facebook of “poisoning the societal climate” in Germany and overseas, warning that the social media giant’s soft treatment and arrogance towards online hate speech is “increasingly intolerable and dangerous.”

Facebook “continues to massively participate in the poisoning of the social climate, not only in Germany,” said Christoph Heubner, executive vice president of the International Auschwitz Committee (IAC), as quoted by German news agencies.

“Obviously, the responsible persons at Facebook neither take the [German] justice minister nor the German legislator seriously,” he added.

Hate speech, including online comments, is punishable under German law, which states that spreading information that encourages violence against people due to their ethnic or religious background is punishable by up to three years in jail.

Officials: Fukushima Has Now Contaminated 1/3 Of The Worlds Oceans

The Pacific Ocean is thought to have been contaminated from the leak out from the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster.

The Pacific Ocean – in fact almost one-third of the Globe – is thought to have been contaminated from the leak out from the Fukushima Nuclear Disaster.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), seeking to promote the peaceful use of Nuclear Power, in 2011 established with the Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA) Member States, a joint IAEA Technical Cooperation (TC) project in the region of the Pacific Ocean. It was established after the Fukushima disaster when a tsunami caused by a major earthquake on 11 March 2011, disabled the power supply and cooling of three Fukushima Daiichi reactors, causing a nuclear accident. As a result a large quantity of radioactive material was admitted into the Pacific Ocean.

Of no surprise, this caused great concern to countries based around the Pacific Ocean due to the potential economic and environmental implications. The TC project’s aim was therefore, to monitor the presence of radioactive substances in the marine environment.

The first annual review meeting held in August 2012 demonstrated predictive hydrodynamic models and they predicted that the strong current, known as the Kuroshio Current and its extension, had the ability to transport the radioactive substances across the Pacific Ocean in an easterly direction. However, the concentration of radioactivity was not as high as originally thought.

A field study found that two filter cartridges were coated, which showed elements of cesium, a radioactive substance.

massive expansion of ocean had diluted it substantially so radioactivity remained at low levels but there was still concern over contamination of seafood even at these low levels. The marine monitoring project was therefore, established to ensure that the seafood of the region was safe for consumption and to maintain a comprehensive overview and full facts of the situation, considering its grave implications.

The TC is due to conclude this year. A few results have caused concern. A field study they conducted on 2 July 2014, revealed from two sets of seawater samples, found that two filter cartridges were coated, which showed elements of cesium, a radioactive substance.

Then recently, trace amounts of cesium-134 and cesium-137 turned up in samples collected near Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The samples collected were separate from the monitoring project set up by IAEA but it is thought the only possible source of these radioactive elements is Fukushima, according to the Integrated Fukushima Ocean Radionuclide Monitoring (InFORM) Network. This is the first time that traces of cesium-134 had been detected near North America.

While these are trace amounts, the danger of radioactive material in any amount cannot be underestimated. However, the experts say that these levels detected cannot really harm us, they are still lower than those we could be exposed to from a dental x-ray for instance.

Having said that, every possible exposure, in any small amount, adds up. The problem with nuclear energy and fallout, the radiation and radioactive materials can travel far and wide with the wind and with the sea. Therefore, we should aim on a global level to keep these levels at zero. In any event the continuous monitoring of oceans will need to be conducted, according to Ken Buesseler, a marine chemist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute.

What Buesseler says should be taken on board beyond 2015, particularly since the advice from the IAEA is to dump even more contaminated water into the sea. This is apparently more desirable than holding it in tanks. Any discharge will have to be controlled and continuous monitoring would be needed, in particular near the plant to improve data reliability. This is causing concern and not just to state authorities. Consider the fishermen. Every time they catch fish in the ocean, the fish need to be tested for radioactivity.

Before any further dumping is done, the IAEA and Tokyo Electric Power Co., who control the plant, need to consider not only the environmental impact but socio-economic impact as well. Livelihoods could be affected as well as long-term health of the region and global community eventually.

Who profits from Turkey’s 'Sarajevo moment'?

Let’s cut to the chase: Ankara 2016 is not Sarajevo 1914. This is not a prelude to WWIII. Whoever plotted the assassination of the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov – a cool, calm, collected old-school diplomat - risks a mighty blowback.

Trends

The assassin, Mevlut Mert Altintas, was a 22-year-old police academy graduate. He was suspended from the Turkish National Police (TNP) over suspected links to the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETO) after the failed July 15 putsch against Erdogan but returned to duty in November.

It’s no secret Gulenists heavily infiltrate the TNP; so a particular outcome of the attack will be an, even more, relentless Erdogan/AKP crackdown on the Gulen network. The Turkish investigation will have to focus not only on the (major) security service fail at Ankara’s modern art center – but way beyond. It’s not very reassuring that Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu put out a terse statement a very long three hours after the facts.

The killer in a black suit and tie shouted slogans about revenge “for Aleppo” – the requisite “Allahu Akbar” included – in both Turkish and broken Arabic, something that might establish a connection to an Islamist group’s rhetoric, although that’s not conclusive evidence.

Timing is crucial. The hit happened only one day before the Foreign Ministers of Russia, Turkey and Iran were scheduled to meet in Moscow for a key Syria strategic discussion. They were already closely in touch for the past few weeks on how to strike a comprehensive deal on Aleppo – and beyond.

And this right after the crucial, previously established Putin-Erdogan agreement, which implied no less than thousands of “moderate rebels” responding to Turkey’s commands being able to use a “corridor” out of Aleppo. Ankara was fully on board with the plan. That in itself eliminates the possibility of an Ankara-provoked false flag.

President Putin for his part made it very clear he wants to be informed on who “directed” the killer. That’s something that could be interpreted as subtle code for Russian intel already very much in the know.

The Big Picture

On the bilateral front, Moscow and Ankara are now working close together on counter-terrorism. Turkey’s defense minister was invited to Russia for anti-air defense system negotiations. Bilateral trade is booming again, including the creation of a joint investment fund. On the all-important energy front, Turkish Stream, despite the Obama administration’s obsession about its derailment, became the subject of state law in Ankara earlier this month.

Atlanticists are appalled that Moscow, Ankara and Tehran are now fully engaged in designing a post-Battle of Aleppo Syrian future, to the graphic exclusion of the NATO-GCC combo.

It’s under this context that the recent alleged capture of a bunch of NATO-GCC operatives – deployed under the US-led-from-behind “coalition” - by Syrian Special Forces in Aleppo must be interpreted.

Syrian member of Parliament Fares Shehabi, the head of the Chamber of Commerce in Aleppo, published the names of the apprehended coalition officers; most are Saudi; there’s one Qatari; the presence of one Moroccan and one Jordanian is explained by the fact Morocco and Jordan are “unofficial” GCC members.

And then there’s one Turk, one American (David Scott Winer) and one Israeli. So NATO shows up only via two operatives, but the NATO-GCC link is more than established. If this information proceeds – and that’s still a big “if” - these may well be coalition military personnel and field commanders, formerly advising “moderate rebels” and now a formidable bargaining chip in the hands of Damascus.

Both NATO and GCC remain absolutely mum; not even non-denial denials have materialized. That might imply a made in the shade deal for the release of the high-value prisoners, further strengthening Damascus’ grip.

It was President Putin who all but established a de facto Russia-Iran-Turkey axis dealing with facts on the Syrian ground – in parallel to the rhetoric-heavy, zero-solution UN charade going on in Geneva. Moscow diplomatically emphasizes that the work of the axis complement Geneva. In fact, it’s the only reality-based work. And it’s supposed to sign and seal definitive parameters on the ground before Donald Trump enters the White House.

In a nutshell; the five-year (and running) NATO-GCC combo’s multi-billion dollar regime change project in Syria all but miserably failed. Wily Erdogan seems to have learned his realpolitik lesson. On the Atlanticist front nevertheless, that opens myriad avenues to channel geopolitical resentment

The Big Picture couldn’t be more absolutely unbearable for neocon/neoliberalcon Atlanticists. Ankara slowly but surely is veering the Eurasianist way; bye bye to the EU, and eventually NATO; welcome to the New Silk Roads, a.k.a. the China-driven One Belt, One Road (OBOR); the Russia-driven Eurasia Economic Union (EEU); the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO); the Russia-China strategic partnership; and Turkey as a key hub in Eurasia integration.

For all that to happen, Erdogan has concluded Ankara must be on board the Russia-China-Iran long-term strategy to pacify and rebuild Syria and make it a key hub as well of the New Silk Roads. Between that and an “alliance” of fleeting interests with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the US, it’s certainly a no-brainer.

But make no mistake. There will be blood.

Aluminium DOES cause Alzheimer's: Expert says new findings confirm the metal plays a role in the devastating brain disease

A link between aluminium and Alzheimer's disease has long existed.

But many scientists says there is not enough evidence to blame the metal, used by thousands for everyday purposes to cook and store food.

However, Professor Chris Exley, from Keele University, says his latest research confirms it does indeed play a role in cognitive decline.

Here, in a piece for medical-blogging website The Hippocratic Post, he reveals the findings from his latest study.

There has been a strong link between human exposure to aluminium and the incidence of Alzheimer’s disease for half a century or more.

However, without definite proof, there is still no consensus in the scientific community about the role of this known neurotoxin in this devastating brain disease.

The latest research from my group, published in the Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, makes this link even more compelling.

In my view, the findings are unequivocal in their confirmation of a role for aluminium in some if not all Alzheimer’s disease.

At the very least, these new results should encourage everyone and even those who have steadfastly maintained that aluminium has no role in the disease to think again.

I don’t believe that is the only factor, but I think it is an important one which should be considered very seriously.

When our new results are put into the context of what is already known about aluminium and Alzheimer’s disease their significance becomes overwhelming and compelling.

We already know that the aluminium content of brain tissue in late-onset or sporadic Alzheimer’s disease is significantly higher than is found in age-matched controls.

So, individuals who develop Alzheimer’s disease in their late sixties and older also accumulate more aluminium in their brain tissue than individuals of the same age without the disease.

Even higher levels of aluminium have been found in the brains of individuals, diagnosed with an early-onset form of sporadic Alzheimer’s disease, who have experienced an unusually high exposure to aluminium through the environment or through their workplace.

This means that Alzheimer’s disease has a much earlier age of onset, for example, fifties or early sixties, in individuals who have been exposed to unusually high levels of aluminium in their everyday lives.

We now show that some of the highest levels of aluminium ever measured in human brain tissue are found in individuals who have died with a diagnosis of familial Alzheimer’s disease.

The levels of aluminium in brain tissue from individuals with familial Alzheimer’s disease are similar to those recorded in individuals who died of an aluminium-induced encephalopathy while undergoing renal dialysis.

In support of our quantitative data, we have also used a recently developed and fully validated method of fluorescence microscopy to provide stunning and unequivocal images of aluminium in brain tissue from familial Alzheimer’s disease donors.

Familial Alzheimer’s disease is an early-onset form of the disease with first symptoms occurring as early as 30 or 40 years of age.

It is extremely rare, perhaps 2-3 per cent of all cases of Alzheimer’s disease.

Its bases are genetic mutations associated with a protein called amyloid-beta, a protein which has been heavily linked with the cause of all forms of Alzheimer’s disease.

Individuals with familial Alzheimer’s disease produce more amyloid beta and the onset of the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease are much earlier in life.

This new research may suggest that these genetic predispositions to early onset Alzheimer’s disease are linked in some way to the accumulation of aluminium in brain tissue.

Ageing is the main risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease and aluminium accumulates in human brain tissue with ageing.

Environmental or occupational exposure to aluminium results in higher levels of aluminium in human brain tissue and an early onset form of sporadic Alzheimer’s disease.

The genetic predispositions which are used to define familial or early-onset Alzheimer’s disease also predispose individuals to higher levels of brain aluminium at a much younger age.

Aluminium is accepted as a known neurotoxin, for example being the cause of dialysis encephalopathy, and its accumulation in human brain tissue at any age can only contribute to any ongoing disease state or toxicity.We should take all possible precautions to reduce the accumulation of aluminium in our brain tissue through our everyday activities and we should start to do this as early in our lives as possible.
