"For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known."
(Luke 12:2)

Nothing Covered

Dear Friends,

Greetings! As the first two articles below show, and as you are probably aware, many of us live more and more in a surveillance society. Even in India the government plans to issue computer chip identification cards to the entire population of 1.2 billion people.

This is of course going to lead to the eventual mark of the beast described in Revelations, chapter thirteen. One of the leading global planning organizations has expressed a desire to have the entire population of the planet chipped by the year 2017!

One thing we need to realize is that God has the ultimate surveillance system, keeping track of both the good and the evil. "The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good." (Proverbs 15:3)

If we belong to Jesus, He has promised that He is with us always even to the end of the world. (Matthew 28:20) The Bible also says, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him."(2 Chronicles 16:9)

It is those who are hoping to set up the surveillance society, to help usher in the mark of the beast who will one day be saying to the mountains and rocks "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" (Revelation 6:16-17)

As the situation in the world continues to tighten, also remember a wonderful promise that Jesus gave in the book of Revelations, chapter twelve, verses six and fourteen; "And the woman (the church, the called out ones, not a building,) fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent."

He has promised to take care of us, or to take us to Him. So don't fear the church going through the "Tribulation". God loves us and will never suffer us to be temped above what we are able to handle. (1Corinthians 10:13)

As for those who perpetrate this end time system leading to the mark of the beast, "....every one of us shall give account of himself to God." (Romans 14:11)

Internment

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Internment is the imprisonment or confinement of people, commonly in large groups, without trial. The Oxford English Dictionary (1989) gives the meaning as: "The action of 'interning'; confinement within the limits of a country or place". Most modern usage is about individuals, and there is a distinction between internment, which is being confined usually for preventive or political reasons, and imprisonment, which is being closely confined as a punishment for crime.

Internment camps

An internment camp is a large detention center created for political opponents, enemy aliens, people with mental illness, specific ethnic or religious groups, civilians of a critical war-zone, or other groups of people, usually during a war. The term is used for facilities where inmates are selected according to some specific criteria, rather than individuals who are incarcerated after due process of law fairly applied by a judiciary.

As an Internment/Resettlement Specialist for the Army National Guard, you will ensure the smooth running of military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility, similar to those duties conducted by civilian Corrections Officers.

This will require you to know proper procedures and military law; and have the ability to think quickly in high-stress situations. Specific duties may include assisting with supervision and management operations; providing facility security; providing custody, control, supervision, and escort; and counseling individual prisoners in rehabilitative programs.

Army Regulation 210-35

Makes administrative and editorial changes (throughout) - This new regulation dated 9 December 1997

Provides Army policy and guidance for establishing civilian inmate labor programs and civilian prison camps on Army installations.

Britain To Put CCTV Cameras Inside Private Homes

By Charlie Sorrel

August 3, 2009

As an ex-Brit, I'm well aware of the authorities' love of surveillance and snooping, but even I, a pessimistic cynic, am amazed by the governments latest plan: to install Orwell's telescreens in 20,000 homes.

£400 million ($668 million) will be spend on installing and monitoring CCTV cameras in the homes of private citizens. Why? To make sure the kids are doing their homework, going to bed early and eating their vegetables. The scheme has, astonishingly, already been running in 2,000 family homes. The government's "children's secretary" Ed Balls is behind the plan, which is aimed at problem, antisocial families. The idea is that, if a child has a more stable home life, he or she will be less likely to stray into crime and drugs.

It gets worse. The government is also maintaining a private army, incredibly not called "Thought Police", which will "be sent round to carry out home checks," according to the Sunday Express. And in a scheme which firmly cements the nation's reputation as a "nanny state", the kids and their families will be forced to sign "behavior contracts" which will "set out parents' duties to ensure children behave and do their homework."

And remember, this is the left-wing government. The Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling, batting for the conservatives, thinks these plans are "too little, and too late," implying that even more obtrusive work needs to be done.

UPDATE: Further research shows that the Express didn't quite have all its facts straight. This scheme is active, and the numbers are fairly accurate (if estimated), but the mentions of actual cameras in people's homes are exaggerated. The truth is that the scheme can take the most troublesome families out of their homes and move them, temporarily, to a neutral, government-run compound. Here they will be under 24-hour supervision. CCTV cameras are not specifically mentioned, nor are they denied, but 24-hour "supervision" certainly doesn't rule this out from the camera-loving Brits.

It remains, though, that this is still excessively intrusive into the private lives of citizens, cameras or not.

Giant Particle Collider Struggles

By DENNIS OVERBYE

August 4, 2009

The biggest, most expensive physics machine in the world is riddled with thousands of bad electrical connections.

Many of the magnets meant to whiz high-energy subatomic particles around a 17-mile underground racetrack have mysteriously lost their ability to operate at high energies.

Some physicists are deserting the European project, at least temporarily, to work at a smaller, rival machine across the ocean.

After 15 years and $9 billion, and a showy "switch-on" ceremony last September, the Large Hadron Collider, the giant particle accelerator outside Geneva, has to yet collide any particles at all.

But soon?

This week, scientists and engineers at the European Center for Nuclear Research, or CERN, are to announce how and when their machine will start running this winter.

That will be a Champagne moment. But scientists say it could be years, if ever, before the collider runs at full strength, stretching out the time it should take to achieve the collider's main goals, like producing a particle known as the Higgs boson thought to be responsible for imbuing other elementary particles with mass, or identifying the dark matter that astronomers say makes up 25 percent of the cosmos.

The energy shortfall could also limit the collider's ability to test more exotic ideas, like the existence of extra dimensions beyond the three of space and one of time that characterize life.

"The fact is, it's likely to take a while to get the results we really want," said Lisa Randall, a Harvard physicist who is an architect of the extra-dimension theory.

Colliders get their oomph from Einstein's equivalence of mass and energy, both expressed in the currency of electron volts. The CERN collider was designed to investigate what happens at energies and distances where the reigning theory, known as the Standard Model, breaks down and gives nonsense answers.

Alabama's Jefferson County makes massive job cuts

Melinda Dickinson

August 4, 2009

Alabama's debt-ridden Jefferson County laid off about two-thirds of its 3,600 employees on Monday because of plummeting revenues, a move that will sharply curtail services in areas ranging from roads to courthouses.

The cuts are just the latest blow to Jefferson, whose population of 660,000 includes Birmingham, the state's largest city and its economic powerhouse. They come after the county racked up around $4 billion in debt by using exotic financial instruments to fund a revamp of its sewer system.

The work-force cuts will hit the roads and transportation, revenue and security departments, and reductions will also affect the courthouse and information technology department as well as laborers paid on an hourly basis, according to a senior county official.

64% of Israelis want Temple rebuilt

Even half of secular Jews say time is right

August 01, 2009

Nearly two-thirds of Israelis say the time is right to rebuild the Jerusalem Temple, according to a Ynet-Gesher survey.

Even half of non-religious Jews favor rebuilding the Holy Temple - an idea politically unthinkable in Israel just 10 or 20 years ago.

The poll was released on the saddest day on the Jewish calendar - the fasting day of Tisha B'Av, or the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av. It commemorates a series of tragedies that befell the Jewish people all on the same day, most significantly the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem, which occurred about 656 years apart on the same day. Jewish tradition calls for the reading of Lamentations.

The book of Lamentations, written in poetic verse, mourns the desolations brought on Jerusalem and the Holy Land by the Chaldeans.

The rebuilding of the Temple is an extremely controversial idea in Israel because currently Jewish access to the Temple Mount is restricted by the Muslim Waqf, which was granted administrative authority over the Jews' holiest sites, which are occupied by Muslim shrines.

King Solomon built the First Temple in the 10th century B.C. The Babylonians destroyed it in 586 B.C. The Jews built the Second Temple in 515 B.C. after Jerusalem was freed from Babylonian captivity. The Romans destroyed the Second Temple in A.D. 70.

The First Temple stood for about 400 years, the second for almost 600. Both Temples served as the center of religious worship for the whole Jewish nation. All Jewish holidays centered on worship at the Temple - the central location for the offering of sacrifices and the main gathering place for the Jewish people.

The site is believed to be the biblical Mount Moriah, where Abraham fulfilled God's test of faith by demonstrating his willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac.

Jewish tradition also holds that Mashiach - literally "the anointed one," the Jewish Messiah - will come and rebuild the third and final temple on the Mount in Jerusalem and bring redemption to the entire world.

The Temple Mount has remained a focal point for Jewish services for thousands of years. Prayers for a return to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple have been uttered three times daily by religious Jews since the destruction of the Second Temple. Throughout all the centuries of Jewish exile from their land, thorough documentation shows the Jews never gave up their hope of returning to Jerusalem and reestablishing their Temple. To this day Jews worldwide pray facing the Western Wall, while Muslims turn their backs away from the Temple Mount and pray toward Mecca.

Muslims constructed the al-Aqsa Mosque around A.D. 709 to serve as a place of worship near a famous shrine, the gleaming Dome of the Rock, built by an Islamic caliph, or supreme ruler.

Some X Games Bad Boys Turn to the Bible

By Matt Higgins,

August 2, 2009

CARSON, Calif.--Brian Deegan and his band of freestyle motocross riders called the Metal Mulisha wore black and were covered in tattoos. They brawled, cursed and stirred up trouble. In their sport, they were the bad guys.

So when Deegan was baptized, he wondered what his fans would think.

After a near-fatal crash in 2005 while attempting a back flip during filming for a television show, he lost a kidney and four pints of blood, and found religion.

When a surgeon told him he might not survive, Deegan, 34, who has won more freestyle motocross medals at the X Games than any other rider, made a pact with God. If he lived, he would mend his ways. When he finally pulled through, he sought a pastor, began reading the Bible and "gave his life to Christ," he said.

Soon his fellow freestyle riders Jeremy Lusk, Ronnie Faisst and Jeremy Stenberg, who is known as Twitch, began attending Bible study with Deegan.

"All the heavy hitters of the Mulisha are born-again Christians," Deegan said.

"I started tripping. 'What are the fans going to think?' I started getting nervous."

Action sports like freestyle motocross and skateboarding were founded as antiestablishment activities. But events like the X Games, taking place this week in and around Los Angeles, have made them more mainstream. And as the sport's culture has changed, some have recognized a greater profile for religion.

It is difficult to chart when attitudes toward religion began shifting in action sports. But several years ago, ESPN began receiving credential requests for members of the clergy to accompany athletes at the X Games.

The case of Nate Adams is instructive, too. As a Christian, Adams was part pariah during the early days of freestyle motocross.

"We tried to pick him apart," Deegan said. "But you had to respect him. He always ripped on a dirt bike. And now Nate Adams is one of our best friends."

Skateboarding, too, has been transformed somewhat.

Christian Hosoi, 41, was a high-flying rival to Tony Hawk during the 1980s. On Sunday, he will compete in the Legends event at the X Games.

"I was such a rebel against conforming to government or society because we skateboarders were so radical and we wanted to be outlaws," he said about his professional heyday. "We were totally individuals, image-driven. It was more a lifestyle."

Drug addiction derailed Hosoi. He spent nearly five years in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine. He was released in 2004 but not before embracing Christianity.

"There wasn't another option back in my day," Hosoi said about the image he fostered as a professional skater. "It was either you were hard core against it all, or you're not cool and you're out."

Today, Hosoi is an associate pastor at a church in Huntington Beach, Calif., and he travels the world as an evangelist.

"I'm using my popularity, the history, my image and my accomplishments to preach the gospel," he said.

As someone once said, "You can never be too bad for Jesus, only too good," as these "bad boys" from the X Games found out. So no matter what the situation He said He "forgiveth all thine iniquities." (Psalms 103:3)

If you would like to be forgiven all your iniquities and sins, all that is necessary is for you to pray a simple child-like prayer. Dear Jesus, please forgive me all my sins, come into my heart, give me eternal life, and help me to live my life for you and others. "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalms 103:12)
