It has become very popular to look into your genealogy. I have a friend who is really into this, and for a while, every time I saw him he had a new discovery about his heritage.

Of course, most of us would like to think we are related to someone important, like a member of a royal family, a celebrity, some great intellect, or a hero from American history.

But what if you were researching your family tree and discovered you had some unsavory characters in it? Would you want to let others know? Let’s say that you found out you had a number of prostitutes in your family tree. Is that something you would tell people about? Imagine hanging around with some friends, and one person says, “I’m a distant relative of George Washington.”

Another says, “Well, I have royal blood flowing in my family.”

And you say, “Well, I have three prostitutes in my family.” Is that something you would be proud of?

You may be surprised to know that the most famous family tree in human history had some unsavory characters, including liars, cheats, adulterers, and prostitutes. I’m talking, of course, about the family tree of Jesus Christ. He knows all about having relatives who might be embarrassing.

Yet in his family tree, we can see the amazing grace of God clearly on display, long before Bethlehem, showing us that God gives second chances.

Now, when we tell the Christmas story, we usually cut to the chase. We usually go straight to the beautiful narratives that are found in Matthew, and especially in the gospel of Luke. We often skip over what precedes that story, which is another lengthy genealogy, because we think it doesn’t mean anything to us.

Yet this genealogy affects every one of us. It is as much inspired by God as any other passage in the Bible.

And for the Jewish people in Jesus’ day, genealogies were a big deal for a number of reasons. A genealogy would determine whether someone was related to the priesthood. It also would determine if a person was in the royal line. And, it would influence how the family inheritance would be passed on. Therefore, they were sticklers for genealogies.

The genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 reads like a biblical soap opera. There is David, who was plucked from obscurity and became the greatest king in the history of the nation Israel, the man after God’s own heart. David’s name is usually associated with two others, which represent both his greatest victory and his greatest defeat. The name Goliath reminds us of his greatest victory when he killed the 9-foot-6-inch Philistine in the valley of Elah. And then there is the name Bathsheba, with whom he fell into the sin of adultery. And not only was David guilty of adultery, but in his attempt to cover it up, an innocent man lost his life. The repercussions of that sin were repeated not only in David’s life but also in the lives of his children. Yet David made it into the most exclusive family tree in human history.

Then there is Abraham. Though he was a great man of faith and is considered the father of faith, he had his flaws and shortcomings. We know that he lied about his wife, Sarah, out of fear for his life and a lack of trust in God. Yet God established Abraham as the father of the Jewish people and clearly placed him in the Messianic line.

Tamar is named in this famous genealogy, which is really shocking. In Genesis 38, where we read about her prostitution and deception, there is no redeeming value, no silver lining to her story. She is pretty much a corrupt character. Yet amazingly, by the grace of God, Tamar is in the messianic line.

Then there is Rahab, who also was a prostitute. She was a Gentile and an inhabitant of Jericho. When Israeli spies were sent in to check out the land before the Israeli army occupied it, they were hidden by Rahab in her home. Because of her act of kindness toward the people of God, the Israelites spared her and her household. And then, even more amazingly, she was brought into the messianic line as the wife of Salmon and the mother of the godly Boaz, who was David’s great-grandfather.

Next we come to Ruth. She, too, was a gentile. She married one of two sons born to a woman named Naomi. When Naomi’s husband and sons died, she decided to return home to Israel. This prompted Ruth to make the famous statement, “For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God” (Ruth 1:16 NKJV).

This is amazing when you consider the fact that Ruth was a Moabite, and the Moabites were among the worst enemies of Israel. Yet here was this Moabite, this pagan woman, who came to faith in God. Then she married Boaz and became the grandmother of Israel’s greatest king, David.

It certainly gives hope to those who have failed in life. In this genealogy we have God, in his mercy, doing for sinners what they can’t do for themselves: mending their broken lives and putting together their shattered hopes.

This is why Jesus came to earth. We like to think that he came to make good people just a little bit better or to give us a cause to celebrate. Those are fine things, but the real reason he came was because we were irreparably separated from God by our sins.

God’s message to Joseph was, “You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21 NKJV). Christmas is about God’s solution for sin.

You see, Jesus came to redeem us. He came to free us from the power of sin, from the penalty of sin, and from the ultimate repercussions and judgment of sin as well. That is the message of Christmas.

The First Christmas Cards

Today’s Christmas cards are much different from what initial Christmas cards were. Did you know that the first Christmas cards were Jewish?

But if you look at any encyclopedia, they’ll tell you the first Christmas card was produced in England in 1843 by Sir Henry Cole, and the first American Christmas card was produced by Dr. Prang, who is considered the father of the American Christmas card. Maybe you thought it was Hallmark all this time!

Well, I insist, and I hope you’ll agree with me, that the first Christmas cards were Jewish and that they were the promises of the coming of the Messiah, as spoken by the Jewish prophets. These greetings were not just for the Jewish people, but for all of us.

Let’s look at one such card sent by Micah. Micah was a nice Jewish boy who wrote 700 years before the birth of Christ. He penned a startling announcement: “But you Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose going forth are from of old, from everlasting.” This amazing prophecy identified that Bethlehem (one of the smaller cities within the tribal region of Judah) would be the birthplace of the Messiah and that the Messiah would come from the household of King David.

All this was written 300 years after David’s rule on the earth and 700 years before the coming of Jesus! And here’s the twist with which Micah intended to shock us: this one who was to be born is actually “from of old.” The Hebrew word kedem means “ancient times.” So, this someone who is born in Bethlehem is actually from ancient times. Born, and yet ancient. And then Micah uses one more phrase to describe him, ha olam: from everlasting, from eternity. So, we’re not just talking about ancient, we’re talking about from forever. This shocking Christmas card tells us where the Christ who is to be born is from, and from whose very human lineage he derives, and yet he is actually very ancient, indeed from eternity.

Think about it. If anybody ever argues that Messiah can be human and/or divine, but not both, tell them that Micah knew better—700 years before Jesus ever came.

Are there any Jews in Bethlehem today? Not a one. Anyone from the tribe of Judah or the lineage of the household of David? We don’t even know the tribal distinctions anymore. Most of the records were destroyed when the Second Temple was destroyed. So how’s the Messiah going to be born now? This conundrum may cause a few rabbis to scratch their heads today. But we have this Christmas card from God, and it’s a beautiful Christmas card, don’t you think?

Last week I told you about how the first Christmas cards were Jewish and that they were the promises of the coming of the Messiah as spoken by the Jewish prophets.

This week I’d like to share another one of those Christmas cards with you.

Let’s look at an amazing Christmas card from the prophet Isaiah who, like Micah, wrote about our Messiah 700 years before his birth: Isaiah wrote, “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). A child is to be born and this child will be the Messiah.

This idea of Messiah being born is not very well understood in today’s Jewish community. We see him as a grown man perhaps riding into Jerusalem on a white horse to throw off all the oppression and give us all a four-day work week. But this Christmas card clearly says that he is going to be born rather miraculously and it’s going to be a sign. Not only that, but it’s going to be a shock because he is going to be born of a virgin, someone who never knew a man and is nevertheless going to be pregnant. Now that’s a miraculous thing.

Once Larry King told me the person he most wanted to interview was Jesus and the first question he would ask is, “Were you really born of a virgin?” The rabbis will challenge this idea: “Virgin, Where do you get that?” The Hebrew word here is almah and almah does not literally mean virgin. Almah means a young woman of marriageable age. Now today I know that doesn’t necessarily mean a virgin, but back then it did. Not only that, but there is another word, betulah, that literally does mean virgin. The rabbis will say if Isaiah really meant virgin, he would have used betulah and not almah.

However, the word betulah shows up numerous times in the Bible not referring to a virgin. For example, in Joel 1:8, betulah refers to widows. Hmmm. So that word is not as precise in its context as almah, which again means a young woman of marriageable age but not yet married, and therefore in normal parlance in Isaiah’s day a virgin. Not only that, when the rabbis who translated the Hebrew Bible into Greek in Alexandria 400 years before the coming of Jesus translated “virgin,” they used the Greek word parthenos.Parthenos is the definitive Greek word for virgin. So this amazing text gives us more information. Micah tells us where Messiah would be born, and Isaiah tells us how he would be born.

This Christmas card was received gratefully by Matthew and the Jews of his day and again by us today as we send out our greetings. Matthew tells us about the Isaiah 7 Christmas card, “So all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet saying, Behold the virgin shall be with child and bear a Son and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated God with us” (Matthew 1:22-23).

Matthew emphasizes the name Immanuel meaning that God is not just on our side, but he actually tabernacled in our midst. He came to dwell with us. Kedem ha olam. The One who is born who is from eternity is God with us. There is such power in these words, there is such depth, there is such theological profundity that if you study these Christmas cards, you cannot avoid the theology of Messiah from the Hebrew Bible; it’s all there. It’s written large and it’s deep. We look in wonder and get just a little taste of glory.

The young singer was not shy to express his faith through his music on Monday night's Top 8 semifinal competition on NBC's "The Voice." He told his coach, R&B superstar Alicia Keys, that his song choice is a favorite of his new fiancee, whom he met in church.

The young performer kicked off his performance playing the acoustic guitar and singing words of adoration to God.

Cuevas then proceeded to sing the chorus in Spanish and switched from the main stage to an off shoot stage on the left. He said on the show that he learned to speak Spanish from his grandmother.

The acoustic performance became chilling once Cuevas was joined by a choir of people standing below him dressed in all white. He switched back into the English version and footage of his judge Keys proudly singing along was shown.

After finishing the song, Cuevas had tears streaming down his face and was overcome by emotion as he sung praise and led others to join him as a worship leader would at a Sunday church service.

Cuevas' rendition of the gospel song has already reached No. 8 on the iTunes singles chart and is in the top 10 overall. The downloads will add votes to his total.

Once the video was uploaded on Youtube, fans began to praise the 20-year-old for his performance.

"He turned the talent show competition into a church service," a Youtuber said.

Another added, "You just used your platform to make Jesus famous! Win or lose...congratulations sir"

Someone else maintained, "This is the first time where I feel like Christian is in his lane. He was born to do gospel/ contemporary music and sing for the Lord! God bless you Christian."

After the presentation, coach Adam Levine told Cuevas that his ability to wear his emotions on his sleeve is an admirable quality for an artist.

"I'm so proud of you, Christian," Keys added while commending the singer for spreading goodness and light through his music. "It was a beautiful, gorgeous performance."

'Jacob Sheep' Return to Israel: 'Precursor' to Third Temple and Second Coming of Christ?

The arrival in Israel this month of an ancient breed of sheep has been called a "prophetic precursor" for the building of the Third Temple in Jerusalem.

In turn, the building of this temple is said to be one of the prophesied events leading to the Second Coming of Christ.

Exactly 119 sheep reportedly descended from Jacob's flock have returned to their biblical homeland—the first time the sheep have stepped on Israeli soil since biblical times, the Times of Israel reported.

The breed received the name "Jacob sheep" based on Genesis Chapter 30, where Jacob talks about leaving his father-in-law Laban's home and taking part of the flock as his payment for years of service. "I will pass through all thy flock today, removing from thence every speckled and spotted one, and every dark one among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats; and of such shall be my hire," he is quoted as saying in Genesis 30:32.

The path taken by the sheep was the same path taken by Jacob who went to Canaan and then Egypt.

When the Jews returned to Israel, the uniquely speckled sheep did not return with them.

As described in a Charisma News report, the sheep are "small, piebald and crowned distinctively with four horns." They are a "heritage" breed, which means mean they retain many of their genetic traits and remain relatively unchanged from their origins.

Gil and Jenna Lewinsky, the Jewish couple who brought the sheep to Israel from Canada, plan to open a Heritage Park in the Golan Heights in northern Israel as a tourist attraction to enable people to see the biblical sheep for themselves, according to Breaking Israel News.

Gil Lewinsky said they have another, much loftier purpose for the proposed park.

"There will be a woolery at the Heritage Park which will turn the raw wool into religious clothing, shirts and prayer shawls. The horns can be crafted into shofars," he said.

The biblical instrument known as a shofar, still in Jewish ritual use today, is commonly made from the horn of a ram (male sheep). In the Book of Joel, the shofar is associated with the arrival of the Messiah.

"Sound a shofar in Zion and sound an alarm in My holy mountain; all the inhabitants of the land shall quake, for the day of the Lord has come, for it is near." (Joel 2:1)

Furthermore, Lewinsky said, "once the Beit Hamikdash (the Jewish name for the Third Temple) is built, the sheep can be sacrificed there, being the original sheep of our ancestors. In fact, the sheep is a central animal for Temple service; without it, it cannot function."

Trump’s planned embassy move to Jerusalem backed by Israeli officials

Donald Trump’s apparent eagerness to fulfil his campaign pledge to switch the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem has received the backing of local officials, who insist the move will be as easy as changing a sign on a building.

Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat, said on Tuesday he is confident that Trump will deliver on his promise to relocate the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, telling AP he has already spoken to Trump’s team on the issue. “Naturally my intuition tells me that it’s different this time, knowing the people, hearing his statements, where we are today,” he said.

Both Barkat and his deputy, Meir Turgeman, say they have been contacted about finding a location for the embassy in Jerusalem. A building belonging to America already exists in the neighbourhood of Arnona, which was originally slated for the eventual US embassy. Jerusalem officials say all it will take is a change to the sign on the door.

The US embassy is currently in Tel Aviv, Israel's business capital. Israel classed Jerusalem as its capital in 1950, although it’s not formally recognized by the international community, who maintain foreign embassies in Tel Aviv.

The CIA World Factbook states, “while Israel proclaimed Jerusalem as its capital in 1950, the international community does not recognize it as such; the US, like all other countries, maintains its embassy in Tel Aviv-Yafo.”

Palestinian officials want East Jerusalem as its capital in the event of a two-state solution. Israel captured East Jerusalem in the Six Day War of 1967 and annexed it from the rest of the West Bank. The land grab is not recognized, but Israel claims all of Jerusalem as its capital.

Speaking to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday, Trump’s senior adviser Kellyanne Conway said the relocation of the embassy is a "very big priority” for Trump.

“As president-elect, I’ve heard him repeat it several times privately, if not publicly,” she said. “It is something that our friend in Israel, a great friend in the Middle East, would appreciate and something that a lot of Jewish Americans have expressed their preference for.”

“It is a great move. It is an easy move to do based on how much he talked about that in the debates and in the sound bites,” Conway said of the embassy change.

“The United States of America has embassies in all of the world’s capitals with the exception of Israel,” Barkat said. “That’s absurd, and moving the embassy to the capital of the Jewish people, to Jerusalem, is a straightforward, standard thing to do.”

Conway stated that Israel is a big priority for Trump. “People think it’s just marriage, abortion or religious liberties, and of course it’s about all that, but it’s also about a strong Middle East and about protecting Israel,” she said. “Evangelical Christians always have Israel at the top of their list when you ask what’s most important to them.”

Previous US politicians have made similar promises to relocate the embassy, but never go further than words.

The decades-held position of US leaders is to perpetually delay a 1995 decision by Congress to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Obama recently carried on the tradition by citing “national security interests” as a reason to waive the Jerusalem Embassy Act for another six months.

Moving the embassy is seen as something that can only happen after there is peace between Israel and the Palestinians.

If Trump were to go ahead with his plans, it has the potential to cause significant unrest across the region and alienate allies who support the Palestinian cause and peace in the region.

Mustafa Barghouti, general secretary of the Palestine National Initiative, said he was shocked by Conway’s comments. “If the US takes such a decision, it will not only be violating international law, but violating a unanimously respected international principle that no country can annex another’s territory by force,” he said.

Adnan Husseini, Palestinian Authority minister for Jerusalem affairs, stated that “any attempt to move the embassy to Jerusalem will not help achieve peace.”

He said that attempting to find out details about the future from sources such as horoscopes would only serve to distract Christians from focusing on the final judgment, which he maintained ought to be their primary concern in these desperate times.

“We are called to live the present, ” he said, “but always ready to meet God whenever he may call.” He said that at the end of the world, Jesus’s power of sacrifice and redemption would rule the world and be the only source of stability in the midst of a tragic and highly chaotic world.

“In our days,” he concluded, “there is no lack of natural and moral disasters, as well as adversities of every kind.”

“The Lord tells us that everything passes and only He and his Word remain as a light to guide and strengthen our steps,” he said.

An explosion near a key Coptic cathedral in the Egyptian capital has left at least 25 people dead and 31 others injured, local media reported.

The blast occurred in Cairo's Abbassyia district early Sunday morning, according to the government-sponsored Al-Ahram news outlet, citing the health ministry.

"Security forces are searching and screening the area," Al-Ahram's website reported.

The explosion took place in the small church of St. Peter and St. Paul attached to the St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, said the Coptic Church's official spokesperson, Rev. Paul Halim, according to Al-Ahram.

The attack targeted one of the most symbolic religious sites for Copts, an ethno-religious group centered in Egypt. The Coptic Orthodox Church released a statement on its Facebook page, saying in part:

"As we are bereaved by this violence and terrorism that attacks worshipers, we pray for these martyrs and for the wounded. The Egyptian church stresses on persevering national unity that keeps all Egyptians on Egypt's blessed land."

Swift condemnations

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi condemned the attack and declared a three-day period of national mourning.

The Grand Mufti, the highest official of religious law in Egypt, condemned the "deplorable terrorist attack" on the cathedral.

"Attacking churches whether by demolition, bombing, killing those inside, or terrifying ... secure people are prohibited in Islamic Sharia," Sheikh Shawky Ibrahim Abdel-Karim Allam said.

He called for unity against "black terrorism that tries to instigate sectarianism and sedition among the two wings of Egypt -- Muslims and Christians -- in a bid to weaken the nation."

The Grand Mufti also extended his condolences to Pope Tawadros ll of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria.

Demonstrators gathered outside the cathedral Sunday to voice their anger at police and some pro-government television anchors, according to Al-Ahram.

They called for the resignation of the interior minister, Magdy Abdel Ghaffar.

Protesters chanted: "This time won't pass, even if we all die. ... This is not sectarian strife, let's get the world to hear."

Sunday's explosion came just two days after two bombs killed six police officers and a civilian in Giza's Haram district, on the street leading to the city's famed pyramids.

Copts face persecution in Egypt

Copts face persecution and discrimination that has spiked since the toppling of Hosni Mubarak's regime in 2011. Dozens have been killed in sectarian clashes. There is also little Christian representation in Egypt's government.

Coptic Christians make up about 10 percent of Egypt's 91 million residents. They base their theology on the teachings of the Apostle Mark, who introduced Christianity to Egypt, according to St. Takla Church in Alexandria, the capital of Coptic Christianity.

Burning Man just moved one step closer to becoming a religion

Burning Man, the Nevada desert festival that draws some 60,000 revelers every year, is an annual pilgrimage that resembles religious ritual: It requires travel to a far-off place in the desert, 10 guiding social laws intended to catalyze self-actualization, and the burning of an effigy.

Yesterday (December 6) the festival’s co-founder Larry Harvey made clear that Burning Man is now closer to becoming a religion than ever before. In a blogpost, he announced that the 2017 theme would be “Radical Ritual,” writing that “beyond the dogmas, creeds, and metaphysical ideas of religion, there is immediate experience. It is from this primal world that living faith arises. In 2017, we will invite participants to create interactive rites, ritual processions, elaborate images, shrines, icons, temples, and visions.”

Harvey explained that for the first time, the effigy for which Burning Man is named would be enclosed in a temple structure and reach up toward the sky with a spire: “Passing through the spine of Burning Man, this axis will continue upward, emerging high above the temple as a golden spire. Participants are invited to contribute to this shrine, and to the hundred niches that will penetrate the temple’s walls.”

While some Burners (the shorthand term for Burning Man attendees) praised the festival theme, there has been pushback.

Britain OKs making babies from DNA of 3 people in some cases

LONDON — Britain's fertility regulator has approved controversial techniques allowing doctors to create babies using the DNA from three people — what it called a "historic" decision to help prevent a small number of children from inheriting potentially fatal diseases from their mothers.

The regulator's chair, Sally Chesire, on Thursday described it as a "life-changing" moment for families who might benefit from the treatment.

"Parents at very high risk of having a child with a life-threatening mitochondrial disease may soon have the chance of a healthy, genetically related child," she said in a statement.

The new procedures are intended to fix problems linked to mitochondria, the energy-producing structures outside a cell's nucleus. Faulty mitochondria can result in conditions including muscular dystrophy, major organ failure and severe muscle weakness.

Last year, Britain changed its law to permit scientists to modify eggs or embryos before they are transferred into women, becoming the first country to legally approve the techniques. In September, U.S.-based doctors announced they had created the world's first baby using such techniques, after traveling to Mexico to perform the methods, which have not been approved in the United States.

To help women with mitochondria problems from passing them down to their children, scientists remove the nucleus DNA from the egg of a prospective mother and insert it into a donor egg from which the donor DNA has been removed. That can happen before or after fertilization.

The resulting embryo ends up with nucleus DNA from its parents but mitochondrial DNA from a donor. The DNA from the donor amounts to less than 1 percent of the resulting embryo's genes.

But Britain's decision to approve using the new methods will not open the floodgates to genetically modified babies. Clinics will need to apply to Britain's fertility regulator for permission to use the techniques on a case-by-case basis. The decision was made after five years of reviewing the development, safety and efficacy of the procedures.

Newcastle University said it was planning to apply for a license to use the new fertility techniques and was aiming to treat up to 25 patients a year.

"It is enormously gratifying that our many years of research in this area can finally be applied to help families affected by these devastating diseases," said Mary Herbert, a professor of reproductive biology at Newcastle University.

But critics charged the decision will put people at unnecessary risk of an untested procedure and said women with faulty mitochondria should opt simply to use egg donors.

"This decision opens the door to the world of (genetically modified) designer babies," said David King, director of the Human Genetics Alert group. "Allowing mitochondrial replacement means that there is no logical basis for resisting GM babies."

New Delhi (Sputnik) – From discounts at gas stations and now an exclusive TV channel on digital transactions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pulling out all stops to boost cashless transactions as Indians get no respite from long lines at ATMs to withdraw money.

The new Government channel named Digishala (Teaching about the digital world) will educate the masses on various digital payment modes so as to draw Indians away from cash transactions.

The channel was launched as part of the ‘Digidhan’ campaign which aims to spread awareness about digital transactions. In addition, the government has announced incentives to push the use of plastic money at petrol pumps and other places.

A leading private direct to home (DTH) TV channel service provider, Dish TV, has already placed the channel in its bouquet even though it is not mandatory for private cable operators to do so. Digishala is a free-to-air channel that aims to introduce the use of cashless, paperless and faceless digital payment transactions to rural and semi-urban people across various villages and small towns.

The Modi government has come under severe attack from the opposition parties over its demonetization drive. Long serpentine queues of people outside banks and ATMs to withdraw cash due to shortage of new currency notes have provided ample ammunition to the opposition parties. The government's move is being described as reckless and anti-poor.

"This is an absurd, thoughtless move, and no one in the world has a good word for it. It has broken the back of poor people. Not even a national calamity would have caused so much suffering. To expect India going from the current three per cent cashless to 100 percent is outlandish," said P. Chidambaram, a former finance and home minister during the previous Congress regime.

Meanwhile, the Modi government's frequent change of rules on cash withdrawal and deposits has come under intense criticism. "Modiji, you have made the economy ‘cashless’ as people don’t have cash now. The whole world is crying," quipped Rahul Gandhi, the Congress Party Vice-President. While India has seen decent growth in digital payment systems with both bank and credit/debit card transactions rising since 2011, it will still take years before technology can penetrate every nook and corner of the country.

And while that is often expected after such an enormous earthquake, as videographer MrMBB333 points out in the first video below, hours before the massive Solomon Islands earthquake struck, a mysterious vibration was detected on seismographs all across the planet as our videographer proves to us using charts from the USGS.

Looking like a classic earthquake on the USGS monitoring charts, there were NO earthquakes reported during the time period this mysterious vibration/pulse anomaly showed up on the govt charts for almost an hour, showing up not only all across America, but all across the Earth.

As Michael Snyder asked in his new story over at Activist Post, why is our planet shaking so violently all of a sudden? With dozens of significant earthquakes across the ring of fire in the last month, even experts aren't quite sure what to make of all of this recent shaking. We are also quite sure the MSM will never report upon the 'mysterious vibration' detected all across the planet, probably calling it 'fake news', despite this anomaly being detected on this official US government website as documented in the first video.

As we learn in this story from Fox News about what's been happening in California recently, experts once believed that the 800-mile long San Andreas fault would only rupture in segments - they're now concerned that it could all go at once. Detailing an 'alarming scenario of destruction', Fox News reports:

For years, scientists believed the mighty San Andreas—the 800-mile-long fault running the length of California where the Pacific and North American plates meet—could only rupture in isolated sections.

But a recent study by federal, state and academic researchers showed that much of the fault could unzip all at once, unleashing a rare, singular catastrophe. Now, insurers have used that research to come up with a new analysis of the damage that could be caused by statewide break of the San Andreas.

The analysis, by CoreLogic Inc., a real-estate analytics firm in Irvine, Calif., lays out an alarming scenario of destruction.

Back in July of 2014, the Extinction Protocol published a story in which they showed us a map of the US dotted with reports coming in from across the country showing incidents of people hearing strange sounds, often described as a mysterious humming noise. Reporting then that nobody knows what was causing the strange sounds being heard, just over a month ago back in October of 2016, Live Science dedicated an entire story to the mysterious sounds being heard around the world.

Sharing within their story with us that since the 1990's, seismologists have known that our planet Earth itself is the source of many strange sounds, could the 'songs from the Earth' that we've been hearing the last few years be the same 'trumpets' warned of in the Book of Revelation? A few ANP readers have also recently mentioned hearing strange sounds which nobody else can hear.

Ocean waves beating against the shores of land around the globe cause a continual, slow sound vibration within the Earth, well below the levels of human perception, according to research published in 2015.

This low "hum" of the Earth can't be heard, but it can be measured with very sensitive seismographs. Seismologists have known since the 1990s that the Earth rings with faint "microseismic" vibrations even when there are no earthquakes, which make our planet ring like a bell with strong sound vibrations.

Research published in February 2015, based on computer models, found that ocean waves could generate faint seismic waves on the seafloor with very slow sound frequencies of between 13 and 300 seconds.

According to Joe Mullins, a professor emeritus of engineering at the University of New Mexico who conducted research into the Taos Hum, only about 2 percent of the general population were believed to be able to hear the mysterious hum. Leaving 98% of the general population unaffected, are some people 'super sensitive' to such noises/vibrations, able to hear and/or feel what most of the population is unable to?

It's also long been known that birds are highly succeptible to sounds and vibrations during their migrations and their have been report after report over the last several years of mass deaths. All of this is happening at a time when volcanism all around the ring of fire is at extremely high levels and at a time when 'man is attempting to play God' with seismic weapons and weather modification machinery as Steve Quayle long ago pointed out in his book "Weather Wars & Un-Natural Disasters".

SENATE QUIETLY PASSES THE “COUNTERING DISINFORMATION AND PROPAGANDA ACT”

While we wait to see if and when the Senate will pass (and president will sign) Bill “H.R. 6393, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017″, which was passed by the House at the end of November with an overwhelming majority and which seeks to crack down on websites suspected of conducting Russian propaganda and calling for the US government to “counter active measures by Russia to exert covert influence … carried out in coordination with, or at the behest of, political leaders or the security services of the Russian Federation and the role of the Russian Federation has been hidden or not acknowledged publicly,” another, perhaps even more dangerous and limiting to civil rights and freedom of speech bill passed on December 8.

Recall that as we reported in early June, “a bill to implement the U.S.’ very own de facto Ministry of Truth has been quietly introduced in Congress. As with any legislation attempting to dodge the public spotlight the Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act of 2016 marks a further curtailment of press freedom and another avenue to stultify avenues of accurate information. Introduced by Congressmen Adam Kinzinger and Ted Lieu, H.R. 5181 seeks a “whole-government approach without the bureaucratic restrictions” to counter “foreign disinformation and manipulation,” which they believe threaten the world’s “security and stability.”

Also called the Countering Information Warfare Act of 2016 (S. 2692), when introduced in March by Sen. Rob Portman, the legislation represents a dramatic return to Cold War-era government propaganda battles. “These countries spend vast sums of money on advanced broadcast and digital media capabilities, targeted campaigns, funding of foreign political movements, and other efforts to influence key audiences and populations,” Portman explained, adding that while the U.S. spends a relatively small amount on its Voice of America, the Kremlin provides enormous funding for its news organization, RT.“Surprisingly,”

Portman continued, “there is currently no single U.S. governmental agency or department charged with the national level development, integration and synchronization of whole-of-government strategies to counter foreign propaganda and disinformation.”

Long before the “fake news” meme became a daily topic of extensive conversation on wuch mainstream fake news portals as CNN and WaPo, H.R. 5181 would rask the Secretary of State with coordinating the Secretary of Defense, the Director of National Intelligence, and the Broadcasting Board of Governors to “establish a Center for Information Analysis and Response,” which will pinpoint sources of disinformation, analyze data, and — in true dystopic manner — ‘develop and disseminate’ “fact-based narratives” to counter effrontery propaganda.

Fast forward to this past Thursday, December 8, when the “Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act” passed in the Senate, quietly inserted inside the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report.

Here is the full statement issued by the generously funded Senator Rob Portman (R- Ohio) on the passage of a bill that further chips away at press liberties in the US, and which sets the stage for future which hunts and website shutdowns, purely as a result of an accusation that any one media outlet or site is considered as a source of “disinformation and propaganda” and is shut down by the government.

Senate Passes Major Portman-Murphy Counter-Propaganda Bill as Part of NDAA

Portman/Murphy Bill Promotes Coordinated Strategy to Defend America, Allies Against Propaganda and Disinformation from Russia, China & Others

U.S. Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) today announced that their Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act – legislation designed to help American allies counter foreign government propaganda from Russia, China, and other nations – has passed the Senate as part of the FY 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Conference Report. The bipartisan bill, which was introduced by Senators Portman and Murphy in March, will improve the ability of the United States to counter foreign propaganda and disinformation by establishing an interagency center housed at the State Department to coordinate and synchronize counter-propaganda efforts throughout the U.S. government. To support these efforts, the bill also creates a grant program for NGOs, think tanks, civil society and other experts outside government who are engaged in counter-propaganda related work. This will better leverage existing expertise and empower local communities to defend themselves from foreign manipulation.

“The passage of this bill in the Senate today takes us one critical step closer to effectively confronting the extensive, and destabilizing, foreign propaganda and disinformation operations being waged against us. While the propaganda and disinformation threat has grown, the U.S. government has been asleep at the wheel. Today we are finally signaling that enough is enough; the United States will no longer sit on the sidelines. We are going to confront this threat head-on,” said Senator Portman. “With the help of this bipartisan bill, the disinformation and propaganda used against our allies and our interests will fail.”

“Congress has taken a big step in fighting back against fake news and propaganda from countries like Russia. When the president signs this bill into law, the United States will finally have a dedicated set of tools and resources to confront our adversaries’ widespread efforts to spread false narratives that undermine democratic institutions and compromise America’s foreign policy goals,” said Murphy. “I’m proud of what Senator Portman and I accomplished here because it’s long past time for the U.S. to get off the sidelines and confront these growing threats.”

NOTE: The bipartisan Countering Disinformation and Propaganda Act is organized around two main priorities to help achieve the goal of combatting the constantly evolving threat of foreign disinformation. They are as follows:

• The first priority is developing a whole-of-government strategy for countering foreign propaganda and disinformation. The bill would increase the authority, resources, and mandate of the Global Engagement Center to include state actors like Russia and China in addition to violent extremists. The Center will be led by the State Department, but with the active senior level participation of the Department of Defense, USAID, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the Intelligence Community, and other relevant agencies. The Center will develop, integrate, and synchronize whole-of-government initiatives to expose and counter foreign disinformation operations and proactively advance fact-based narratives that support U.S. allies and interests.

• Second, the legislation seeks to leverage expertise from outside government to create more adaptive and responsive U.S. strategy options. The legislation establishes a fund to help train local journalists and provide grants and contracts to NGOs, civil society organizations, think tanks, private sector companies, media organizations, and other experts outside the U.S. government with experience in identifying and analyzing the latest trends in foreign government disinformation techniques. This fund will complement and support the Center’s role by integrating capabilities and expertise available outside the U.S. government into the strategy-making process. It will also empower a decentralized network of private sector experts and integrate their expertise into the strategy-making process.

In other words, the Act will i) greenlight the government to crack down with impunity against any media property it deems “propaganda”, and ii) provide substantial amounts of money fund an army of “local journalist” counterpropaganda, to make sure the government’s own fake news drowns that of the still free “fringes.”

So while packaged politely in a veneer of “countering disinformation and propaganda”, the bill, once signed by Obama, will effectively give the government a full mandate to punish, shut down or otherwise prosecute, any website it deems offensive and a source of “foreign government propaganda from Russia, China or other nations.” And since there is no formal way of proving whether or not there is indeed a foreign propaganda sponsor, all that will be sufficient to eliminate any “dissenting” website, will be the government’s word against that of the website. One can be confident that the US government will almost certainly prevail in every single time.

All of these Italian banks — the big ones — are bankrupt. They have 400 billion euros of non-performing loans. Where is Italy going to get the money to pay that back? They are going to have to print it. They will get the Italian central bank to print the money and give it to the banks. But what happened when Lehman folded and before Bernanke and Paulson could get the TARP money? The markets crashed. They had to come in with one trillion dollars and that saved the game.

So this will be catastrophic. Assuming countries leave the euro, that’s where we’re headed. When Renzi lost in Italy, it pointed to the fact that Italians also want to leave the European Union.”

Eric King: “As this unfolds and ‘It’s a thousand Lehmans,’ what happens to the United States?”

“The global banking system is interconnected and Deutsche Bank has over $45 trillion in derivatives and JP Morgan has now overtaken Deutsche Bank as the leader in total derivatives exposure. So this will be horrible and I don’t even think I can describe how horrible it will be because I don’t even know all the negatives that are being hidden by the governments. People should get the lyrics to the song Bad Moon Rising and read them carefully.

I will just close by saying that grains, gold, silver and platinum are the most undervalued objects in the world. And as the financial system begins to implode, some of the money will flow into those metals as the panic into hard assets really takes hold.”

Web Bots Predict Massive Financial Shock In Early 2017: ‘Confusion, Bond Market Degradation, Crumbling Of Everything’

There are scores of organizations working on ways to interpret user data on the internet to help predict future events. Law enforcement agencies and financial institutions having been working on this predictive technology for over a decade. In most cases, none of that information is ever shared with the general public.

Clif High of HalfPastHuman, however, has taken a different course. Since the mid-1990’s High’s algorithms have been scouring the internet. With the advent of social networks and tens of thousands of citizen-driven blogs, that data has gotten ever more accurate. So accurate in fact, that on October 27 High’s automated “Web Bots” predicted that not only would Trump win by a landslide, but that Hillary Clinton would be “missing” following the election, a prediction that was so accurate it blew away just about every professional analysis firm in the world.

Now the Web Bots are predicting another paradigm-shifting event. According to Clif High, it appears that a massive financial shock is brewing for early 2017:

We’re facing the following situation…

The confusion, the degradation of the bond market, the crumbling of everything else…

I call it deflation, but maybe we should better define it as debt destruction and inflation because The-Powers-That-Be, the Federal Reserve and all these guys… in the data sets that I’ve got are showing that they’re really worried by very early January… actually they start getting extremely worried by sometime around the 12th or so of December and that it breaks out into the public so to speak by early January.

Now, what they are worried about is the destruction of all of this debt… it’s a destruction of all of these derivatives…

To sort of get a handle on it, we’re looking at a period of time where there will be a lot of things that you really can’t sell because there won’t be enough currency floating in your local economy to, for instance, have a garage sale because your neighbors won’t have enough extra currency to buy your stuff…

At the same time that that’s going on the cost of milk is going to go up… the cost of gasoline is going to go up… Even though there’s going to be an oil glut… As we have this deflationary event the actual beginning of that hyperinflation is already going to be ongoing.

You’ll be dealing with huge numbers… but you’ll be able to see it starting long before then because you’ll be paying 40 cents more for milk this week than you did the week before…

… I have language that says at some point in 2017, probably past mid year, we’re going to be looking at hyperinflation so bad that the Dow will be measured at around 100,000 to 125,000.

Should debt destruction originating in the bond market begin in the early part of 2017, the Federal Reserve will no doubt dump trillions of dollars of “liquidity” into the system in order to stave off collapse. But as High notes, this will be the beginning of hyperinflation that will take hold after mid year, the effect of which will be a skyrocketing Dow Jones index and gold prices exceeding our wildest expectations.

But perhaps the most important takeaway is that, should a financial crisis of this magnitude take place in 2017, even the most basic of necessities will be impossible to acquire unless you have tradeable monetary instruments or goods to barter with.

With Donald Trump soon to take over the Presidency many believe that the fundamental problems facing America can be fixed. But what if there’s not enough time? What if the destruction of the world as we have come to know it is now irreversible?

The elite are preparing to hole up in bunkers as if they know something the rest of us do not. Perhaps it’s time the rest of us ensure our preparedness plans are in order. Things could get a bit rough in the next few months.

Operation to liberate Aleppo 'reaches end, militants leave last holdouts'

Syrian forces are almost in full control of the northern city of Aleppo, nearly three weeks after Damascus and its allies launched a major offensive to recapture the militant-held part of the city, a pro-opposition monitoring group says.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Monday that the battle for Aleppo had reached its end and the government forces were making sweeping advances into the militant-held sector of the city.

The group’s director, Rami Abdulrahman, said the militants had now withdrawn from six neighborhoods in the city, their last holdouts in Aleppo.

"The battle of Aleppo has reached its end. It is just a matter of a small period of time, no more, no less... it's a total collapse," Abdulrahman added.

Syrian forces announced earlier in the day that they were in the last steps of liberating Aleppo, saying almost all but two percent of the neighborhoods in the eastern part of the city, which was under the control of the militants, had been liberated.

The Syrian military said it had regained control over 98 percent of eastern Aleppo and that there were only some pockets of militants and civilians in a small sliver of territory in the center of the city.

The announcement came hours after Syrians and allied forces managed to retake Sheikh Saeed, one of the largest neighborhoods in the southern part of Aleppo’s militant-dominated east. The army also seized control of al-Fardous neighborhood, one of the most populated districts to the north of Sheikh Saeed.

Militants had earlier admitted the loss of key areas in Aleppo, saying they were being squeezed from every side. They, however, insisted that they were holding seven percent of the areas they used to control.

Maps distributed by the army on Monday showed that the tiny portion of Aleppo remaining under the control of militants was a small silver of land located adjacent to the government-held parts of Aleppo in its center.

Aleppo’s complete liberation from the foreign-backed militants would mark a significant victory for Syria in its nearly six-year-long campaign against foreign-backed militants. The liberation of Aleppo would deny the militants their main supply routes across the Turkish border while it would hugely undermine the morale of the militant groups.

34 civilians killed in Daesh-held territories in Hama

Meanwhile, reports on Monday said 11 children and 23 other people were killed in airstrikes in Daesh-held territories in the central province of Hama.

Daesh militants use civilians as human shields against the Syrian forces, preventing them from leaving militant-held areas.

US to blame for Palmyra fall

Russia, a major ally of Syria in the fight against Daesh, has warned that Daesh is still a major threat despite the terrorist group’s defeats in Syria and neighboring Iraq.

The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said Monday that the fall of the ancient city of Palmyra into the hands of Daesh over the weekend showed the seriousness of the Daesh threat.

“The threat of losing Palmyra is a loss for all civilized humankind, not just for Russia,” Peskov said, blaming the United States for the loss of the city, which the Syrians had recaptured earlier this year.

Peskov said the unwillingness of the US to work with Moscow in Syria helped the fall of Aleppo, adding that “cooperation would have probably allowed us to more effectively avoid such attacks from terrorists.”
