Rabbi Kanievsky: Messiah Could Come This Week

Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky is one of the most prominent rabbis of this generation. He is a leader of the Haredi branch of Judaism and the author of numerous authoritative books on Jewish law. In a distinctly uncharacteristic manner, he has recently begun making declarations of the Messiah’s imminent arrival.

In a YouTube video posted on November 2nd of a recent lecture by Rabbi Shlomo Boyer, a respected teacher in Bnei Brak, Rabbi Boyer described how Rabbi Shteinman, the leader of Lithuanian Judaism, was about to travel to America for pressing reasons. He went to Rabbi Kanievsky to receive a blessing for a safe journey and success.

Rabbi Kanievsky replied that he should not travel, saying, “It very well could be the Messiah will come this week. He can come at any moment. He is here with us already. Don’t travel.”

Rabbi Kanievsky has dedicated his life to Torah study and is generally not given to messianic or bombastic proclamations, but in the last year, this has changed dramatically. Last year, Rabbi Kanievsky announced the Messiah would come when the Shmittah year ended, which occurred on the Jewish New Year on September 13th. In August, the rabbi advised a young man, “Gather your family and come to Israel. Otherwise, there won’t be enough room for you on the airplanes.” In April, close associates quoted him as instructing listeners to, “Yell it from the loudspeakers.The Messiah is at the door.”

When asked what needs to be done to prepare for the coming of the Messiah, the Rabbi replied that Jews must strengthen their belief and trust in God.

After the massacre of Jews in the synagogue in Har Nof last November, Rabbi Kanievsky was asked to give some words of comfort to the people. He replied that the deaths were an atonement before the arrival of the Messiah, which would be arriving shortly.

Russia-Iran 'Nightmare' Alliance: Why You Should Be Concerned

WASHINGTON – It's a nightmare scenario: A military powerhouse with a massive nuclear arsenal, openly aligning itself with Islamic terrorists who are hostile to America and Israel.

That's exactly the situation today in Syria, as the Russian military coordinates with the world's number one state sponsor of terror – Iran – and its proxy, Hezbollah.

The Russian/Iranian alliance is helping to prop up the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. He'd been on the ropes, threatened on all sides by ISIS, al Qaeda and Syrian rebel groups. Then the "Russian Bear" stepped in.

Meet the Mideast's 'Most Powerful Operative'

Russia began air strikes in Syria on behalf of the Assad regime in late September, after a steady military buildup. The buildup began shortly after an Iranian general named Qassam Soleimani paid a visit to Moscow in July.

It was no coincidence. Although he largely avoids the limelight, Soleimani has been called "the most powerful operative in the Middle East today."

"In general terms, he's a uniformed Osama bin Laden," Middle East analyst Michael Pregent told CBN News.

"He's anti-U.S. He is able to travel the Middle East and North Africa, basically funding and directing Iranian proxy groups like Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis. Those are just the ones that start with an "H," he said.

Pregent is executive director of Veterans Against the Iran Deal. He served as an intelligence adviser to Gen. David Petraeus in Iraq, where he saw Soleimani's handiwork up close, including Iranian-backed attacks against U.S. troops.

"There were the explosively formed penetrators," Pregent explained. "Those were munitions that the Iranians helped the Shia militias build. They brought them to Iran, trained them on how to use it, and actually set them up in Iraq and directed their attacks against U.S. forces."

"It wasn't only the explosively formed penetrators: the Iranian IEDs," Pregent continued. "They also had something called improvised rocket assisted mortars, where they would drive a truck up to a base and launch mortars right over the wall – and basically blanket or carpet bomb that area of the forward operating base."

U.S. officials believe those Iranian-supplied weapons led to the deaths of at least 500 American soldiers in Iraq.

As leader of the elite "Qods Force" wing of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps, Soleimani played a central role.

"Soleimani is responsible for the Qods Force external operations," Pregent told CBN News. "He has the Iraq portfolio; he has the Syria portfolio – he's responsible for keeping Assad in power for four years. He has a hand in the death of 200,000 Syrians."

Iran's Ultimate Target

Soleimani's ultimate target, however, is Israel.

"The Quds Force – 'Quds' means Jerusalem – the Quds Force is an external force hell-bent on taking Jerusalem back," said Pregent. "That's their ultimate, long-term goal."

In pursuit of that goal, Iran is attempting to establish a foothold in Syria's Golan Heights, along Israel's border.

In January 2015, an Israeli helicopter strike killed a group of top Hezbollah operatives near the Golan border, along with an Iranian brigadier general.

That setback didn't deter Iran's long-term plans. Last month, Soleimani personally visited the Golan to rally Syrian and Hezbollah troops there.

"Qassam Soleimani has become much more public in his profile," said terrorism analyst Matthew Levitt. "Lots of pictures of him standing alongside Iraqi Shia militants in Iraq, in Syria – taking a very public role."

Likewise, Iran is stepping up its role in Syria's civil war. Some 2,000 Iranian and Iranian-backed fighters are now in Syria, battling to prop up the Assad regime.

They're joined by thousands of Hezbollah fighters and supported by a daily barrage of Russian air strikes against anti-Assad targets.

In addition, Russia, Iran, the Assad regime and Iraq are now all reportedly sharing intelligence.

An emergency visit by Soleimani to Moscow in July reportedly sealed the deal for Russian involvement in Syria. It was a visit made in direct violations of U.N. sanctions against the Quds Force leader.

"When we say that sanctions are still on Soleimani, they're not," said Pregent. "Because the supreme leader [of Iran] will give Soleimani as much money as he needs to continue Iran's export of terrorism. He answers directly to the supreme leader – Qassem Soleimani answers directly to Khamenei. And that's the problem – we don't understand that."

Iran Deal Fallout

Former FBI and Treasury Department analyst Matthew Levitt says the nuclear deal struck between Western powers and Iran will likely only make Soleimani and the Iranians more bold.

"Everybody is concerned that the money that is being released is going to enable Iran in a large part, or even a small part, to give more money to Houthi rebels in Yemen, the Assad regime in Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.," Levitt told CBN News.

As for Russia, its growing presence in the Middle East and alliance with Iran raises serious questions for Israel – such as, how will Russia react to a potential war between Israel and Hezbollah? Or an Israeli strike against Iran's nuclear facilities?

The answers remain unclear.

Michele Bachmann ends Israel trip with plea for Jews to convert to Christianity

Citing an imminent end of times, former presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann rounded out a recent tour of Israel by urging Jews to convert to Christianity.

Mrs. Bachmann, a former congresswoman from Minnesota who campaigned for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, made the remarks last week on a radio program hosted by Tony Perkins, the founder of Family Research Council, a conservative Christian group.

“This week really was about biblical prophecy in many ways,” Mrs. Bachmann, an evangelical Christian, said of her trip. “And we’re seeing as events are speeding up, events are speeding up so quickly right now, and we see how relevant the Bible is, and we’re reading our newspaper, at the same time we’re learning about these biblical events, and it’s literally day by day by day, we’re seeing the fulfillment of Scripture right in front of our eyes, even while we’re on the ground.

“We recognize the shortness of the hour,” she said, “and that’s why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can — even among the Jews — share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, he’s coming soon.”

Mrs. Bachmann’s remarks were first spotted by Right Wing Watch, an organization founded by the People for the American Way, a church-state separation advocacy group, and quickly drew the attention of Jewish leaders in the United States.

“A statement like Ms. Bachmann’s should serve to remind Jews that missionizing is, unfortunately, alive and well, and that we must always be on the lookout for it,” Rabbi Avi Shafran, a spokesman for Agudath Israel of America, told The Jerusalem Post. “It also should be a reminder of the importance of Jewish education, since the surest defense against missionizing is authentic Jewish knowledge.”

The former presidential contender had been in Israel participating in an event organized by the Family Research Counciladvertised as “a unique, one-of-a kind tour where you will not only explore the land of the Bible and the roots of our Christian faith, but you will hear directly from some of Israel’s political and religious leaders.” Her mother and about 120 others embarked on the trip, she posted on Instagram.

Last month, Mrs. Bachmannsuggested on Twitter that damage caused by Hurricane Joaquin was a result of the U.S. policy with respect to Israel. Earlier this year, she said the world risked economic and natural disasters if the Obama administration continued to “turn our back on Israel.”

Whether bio-hacking company Grindhouse Wetware’s customers want the mark of the beast or just a silly illuminated tattoo, its staff aims to please.

The Pittsburgh-based startup, which previously created a device that sends biological data wirelessly to a phone or tablet, has a new product. The Northstar V1 lights up under a recipient’s skin using five red Surface-Mounted-Device Light-Emitting Diodes, or SMD LEDs. They are activated for ten seconds when a magnet gets near a specific sensor. The device is powered by a 3 volt CR2325 battery.

Northstar Version 2 will be add gesture recognition and Bluetooth capabilities to its list of features.

“Humans tend to enjoy modifying their bodies for aesthetic reasons. Methods of modification include dying and styling hair, getting tattoos, piercing various parts of their body, getting subdermal silicone shapes, or adding foreign material to alter the shape of breasts, lips, abs, thighs, etc. It’s not our thing to judge how people choose to express or modify themselves – we’re just glad they can do it,” the company posted on Tech Insider’s Facebook page Tuesday. “We can’t wait to see the interesting and creative ways citizen scientists, artists, makers, and hackers use Northstar to backlight tattoos, work them into dance routines, mimic bioluminescence, or numerous other things we can’t even begin to imagine right now.”

The company knows the new product works because five of its staff had the Northstar V1 implanted under their skin by body modification artists, Tech Insider reported Monday.

Jessica Waldrip, a programmer at Grindhouse Wetware, uploaded video of her procedure to YouTube Nov. 7.

Grindhouse Wetware acknowledges that scientists will use bio-hacking devices, but its website declines to address ethical questions related to the technology.

“What do you want to be today?” the landing page asks, an acknowledgement that scientists may eventually change entire species through biotechnology.

The company’s Frequently Asked Questions page says its technology will be “the first step toward a higher biology, and a step toward human-computer interfaces.”

Wetware Grindhouse says it is “glad” people will be able to drastically modify their bodies in the future, but bioethicists are much more cautious.

New York University bioethicist Brendan Parent spoke to Oregon Public Radio Nov. 5 on the implications of emerging “gene drive” technology, which allows researchers to cause permanent mutations to a species. Advocates see it as an opportunity to rid the world of famine and disease, while critics say the technology opens a giant Pandora’s Box.

“There are inherent problems with gene drives. We don’t know what other impacts we’re having. We don’t know whether the elimination of malaria specifically won’t somehow have genetic effects that cause a super-virulent pathogen to be released or to bring in much greater catastrophic consequences,” Parent said.

“If any group or country wanted to develop germ warfare agents they could use techniques like this. It would be quite straightforward to make new pathogens this way,” added New York Medical College cell biologist Stuart Newman.

Grindhouse Wetware is still working out pricing for the Northstar V1. Its products are also open-sourced, which means individuals can use the company’s schematics to build custom models.

“At Grindhouse, we firmly believe that with imagination and drive, any of us can feel and touch EMF fields, explore its contours, sense the temperature of objects across a room, navigate a room using a sonar sense, or even connect your body to the Internet – right now. It is that dream above all that drives us to create,” the company says on its website.

Disney released five character posters promoting the highly anticipated movie ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. All five of them prominently feature the one-eye sign, indicating that the movie is part of the elite’s Agenda.

In 2012, the Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion and announced three new Star Wars films. On top of acquiring the rights to the tsunami of Star Wars merchandise that is about to flood the markets, Disney gave itself the luxury of molding these new movies to its liking.

Knowing Disney, its ramifications and its elite ties, you better believe that the “messages” in these new movies will closely conform to the occult elite’s Agenda. The new character posters released by Disney are early proof of this fact. Every one of them – the good guys and bad guys – feature one eye clearly hidden by a weapon. No matter what side they’re on, they’re owned by the elite.

In my series of articles Symbolic Pics of the Month, I regularly highlight the one-eye sign in popular culture as its omnipresence reflects the stronghold of the occult elite has on mass media. It is their sign. Facebook's 'teleporter' technology the final nail in the coffin for humanity's connection with reality

No awareness of the now, they wander like intoxicated drivers, veering to the left and the right. Scrolling through their Facebook feed, they try to ignite some kind of spark to keep their dying souls alive in their virtual reality.

Necks craned over, wandering aimlessly, they are unable to feel the real world around them. They stare into pixels for hours on end, forgetting what it was like to look into each others eyes for just a second or two. Trying to recreate closeness through the emoticons in the chat box, they have forgotten the bond only human touch can satisfy.

Everyone is present in the room, but their minds are somewhere else, swept up in a virtual reality. Their energy so distracted and scattered into the wind, like embers blown away. No more warmth, no more comfort, no more light of a blazing fire that crackled and echoed of stories and tales long into the night.

Facebook's new technology to put an end to human connection

The last vestiges of human connection are dimming as Facebook prepares to take its users into a deeper level of virtual reality. Facebook chief technology officer Mike Schroepfer has recently unveiled new "teleporter' technology that would make users feel like they have been transported to a simulated world that they can interact in. The project was unveiled at a press event at the 2015 Web Summit in Dublin.

Facebook wants to give its users headsets and controllers that allow them to navigate simulated worlds. To do this, Facebook bought out a virtual reality headset company named Oculus for $2 billion. The Oculus technology removes people from reality and lets them travel where they want. This technology may put an end to human communication as we know it. Households with this technology may stop interacting altogether, as family members sit on the couch and put their headsets over their faces.

Brothers and sisters and moms and dads could easily just disown each other and drift off into their virtual worlds where they choose new family members. Virtual reality headsets would invite the most promiscuous circumstances, as spouses drift off into their headset to seek out some sort of simulated affection and affair. (After all, hackers revealed that thousands of government workers had Ashley Madison accounts used exclusively for affairs. With virtual reality headsets, Facebook gives government workers and everyone else a playground to try out their double lives.)

Facebook's Mr. Schroepfer even told Business Insider that the company's future plans are to "effectively build a teleporter."

"Facebook wants to build a device that allows you to be anywhere you want, with anyone, regardless of geographic boundaries," he said.

Facebook intends to do this by first designing virtual worlds that mimic real world places. Then they want to create an interface that convinces users the simulated world is a real place. The interface would have to allow users to see their own hands and feet. The final goal is to empower users to create their own worlds and explore them how they wish.

The first prototype is set to release in 2016 – a VR-visor named Rift. It will be accompanied by the release of Oculus Touch, which is a set of controllers that allow users to see their own hands and interact with the simulated worlds. In late 2016 a third technology is set to come out to allow users to create virtual 3D objects to use and navigate in their artificial worlds.

If this technology becomes as popular as Facebook itself, it is bound to destroy whatever bit of human interaction that still exists today. Those who wish to live in the real world may have no choice but to get together, run away, and move to some remote part of the world, perhaps in a rain forest, where they can start a new tribe that connects on a natural, human level.

Mormon church labels same-sex couples apostates

(CNN)A new Mormon church policy considers church members in same-sex marriages as apostates whose children will be barred from baptism and church membership unless they disavow same-sex unions.

The policy is outlined in a guide for lay leaders known as Handbook 1, parts of which were posted online by a popular Mormon podcaster who was excommunicated by the church earlier this year on grounds that his public dissents drove others away from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormon church's official name.

In a statement, a Mormon church spokesman, Eric Hawkins, described the document as a "policy and procedural guide" and reaffirmed the church's longstanding opposition to same-sex marriage.

"While it respects the law of the land, and acknowledges the right of others to think and act differently, it does not perform or accept same-sex marriage within its membership," the statement said.

John Dehlin, the excommunicated founder of the podcast "Mormon Stories" and a self-described "unorthodox" Mormon, posted the documents detailing the changes on Facebook Thursday, saying "legally married LGBT Mormons" will likely be "hunted down and threatened with the inhumane and barbaric" church disciplinary procedures.

"We are all diminished by this unfortunate action," Dehlin wrote. "As the LDS church continues to paint itself into a corner, it risks becoming increasingly irrelevant to the developed world."

Troy Williams, executive director of Equality Utah, which pushed for Utah's law protecting the LGBT community and religious freedom, said in a statement said that all churches have the "religious liberty to welcome or exclude whomever they desire."

"But we know that children of same-sex parents are treasures of infinite worth," he said. "In our universe, all God's children have a place in the choir."

Scott Fausett -- who is gay and has three children, including one in the LDS priesthood -- told CNN affiliate KUTV that he was unsure how the change will affect his family.

"It is one thing if the LDS Church doesn't want me being a gay person in their church -- now to exclude children of a gay person just makes no sense to me," Fausett told the station.

Under the new policy, the Mormon church will forbid the "natural or adopted" children of parents in same-sex relationships from receiving a name and a blessing in a ceremony performed by the Mormon priesthood, according to the handbook.

Additionally, children of same-sex unions will be required to be of legal age and no longer living with their parents in order to be baptized, confirmed, ordained or recommended for missionary service. Under the policy, the child would also have to disavow same-sex relationships.

Baptism and confirmation would also require the approval of the church's governing First Presidency, according to the handbook.

Handbook 1 also expands the meaning of apostasy to include members who "are in a same-gender marriage."

The Mormon church, like other religious groups, has tried to strike a delicate balance on gay rights.

Mormons have fought the legalization of same-sex marriage, for example, while trying to avoid the "anti-gay" label sometimes affixed to conservative faiths. Many church members were particularly stung by the fierce backlash to Prop 8. The Mormon-backed referendum was later struck down in court.

Nearly two-thirds of Mormons say homosexuality should be discouraged by society, according to a 2012 survey conducted by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life. The church's official position is that same-sex attraction is not a sin, but acting on it is.

At the same time, Mormon leaders have taken an increasingly civil tone towards gays and lesbians in recent years, and gay rights groups cheered the church for endorsing the Boy Scouts' decision to allow gay scouts in 2013.

With nearly 6.5 million members in the United States, the Mormon church is one of the largest in this country to offer support of LGBT anti-discrimination laws, second only to the United Methodist Church.

The country's two largest Christian denominations, the Catholic church and Southern Baptist Convention, have opposed the Employee Non-Discrimination Act, or ENDA. None of those groups condone gay marriage.

In a time where college students are offended by pretty much everything, The Federalist Papers reports that one professor at UNC-Wilmington decided to cut through the rhetoric and let his students know that they aren’t the special snowflakes liberals and their parents would have them believe.

His epic class introduction has gone viral, and for good reason: this is the most common sense lecture to come out of any college in a long time.

Welcome back to class, students! I am Mike Adams your criminology professor here at UNC-Wilmington. Before we get started with the course I need to address an issue that is causing problems here at UNCW and in higher education all across the country. I am talking about the growing minority of students who believe they have a right to be free from being offended. If we don’t reverse this dangerous trend in our society there will soon be a majority of young people who will need to walk around in plastic bubble suits to protect them in the event that they come into contact with a dissenting viewpoint. That mentality is unworthy of an American. It’s hardly worthy of a Frenchman.

Let’s get something straight right now. You have no right to be unoffended. You have a right to be offended with regularity. It is the price you pay for living in a free society. If you don’t understand that you are confused and dangerously so. In part, I blame your high school teachers for failing to teach you basic civics before you got your diploma. Most of you went to the public high schools, which are a disaster. Don’t tell me that offended you. I went to a public high school.

Of course, your high school might not be the problem. It is entirely possible that the main reason why so many of you are confused about free speech is that piece of paper hanging on the wall right over there. Please turn your attention to that ridiculous document that is framed and hanging by the door. In fact, take a few minutes to read it before you leave class today. It is our campus speech code. It specifically says that there is a requirement that everyone must only engage in discourse that is “respectful.” That assertion is as ludicrous as it is illegal. I plan to have that thing ripped down from every classroom on campus before I retire.

One of my grandfathers served in World War I. My step-grandfather served in World War II. My sixth great grandfather enlisted in the American Revolution when he was only thirteen. These great men did not fight so we could simply relinquish our rights to the enemy within our borders. That enemy is the Marxists who run our public universities. If you are a Marxist and I just offended you, well, that’s tough. I guess they don’t make communists like they used to.

Unbelievably, a student once complained to the Department chairwoman that my mention of God and a Creator was a violation of Separation of Church and State. Let me be as clear as I possibly can: If any of you actually think that my decision to paraphrase the Declaration of Independence in the course syllabus is unconstitutional then you suffer from severe intellectual hernia.

Indeed, it takes hard work to become stupid enough to think the Declaration of Independence is unconstitutional. If you agree with the student who made that complaint then you are probably just an anti-religious zealot. Therefore, I am going to ask you to do exactly three things and do them in the exact order that I specify.

First, get out of my class. You can fill out the drop slip over at James Hall. Just tell them you don’t believe in true diversity and you want to be surrounded by people who agree with your twisted interpretation of the Constitution simply because they are the kind of people who will protect you from having your beliefs challenged or your feelings hurt.

Second, withdraw from the university. If you find that you are actually relieved because you will no longer be in a class where your beliefs might be challenged then you aren’t ready for college. Go get a job building houses so you can work with some illegal aliens who will help you gain a better appreciation of what this country has to offer.

Finally, if this doesn’t work then I would simply ask you to get the hell out of the country. The ever-growing thinned-skinned minority you have joined is simply ruining life in this once-great nation. Please move to some place like Cuba where you can enjoy the company of communists and get excellent health care. Just hop on a leaky boat and start paddling your way towards utopia. You will not be missed.

Professor Adams - having tenure - is more open to attack the ongoing Cultural Marxism that is sweeping across the nation. But, as we previously noted, there are very few legitimate cultural divisions in the world. Most of them are arbitrarily created, not only by political and financial elites, but also by the useful idiots and mindless acolytes infesting the sullied halls of academia.

It is perhaps no mistake that cultural Marxists in the form of "social justice warriors", PC busybodies and feminists tend to create artificial divisions between people and “classes” while attacking and homogenizing very real and natural divisions between individuals based on biological reality and inherent genetic and psychological ability.

This is what cultural Marxists do: divide and conquer or homogenize and conquer, whatever the situation happens to call for.

They do this most commonly by designated arbitrary "victim status" to various classes, thus dividing them from each other based on how "oppressed" they supposedly are. The less statistically prominent a particular group is (less represented in a job field, media, education, population, etc.) in any western society based on their color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, etc., generally the more victim group status is afforded to them by social justice gatekeepers. Whites and males (straight males) are of course far at the bottom of their list of people who have reason to complain and we are repeatedly targeted by SJW organizations and web mobs as purveyors of some absurd theory called "the patriarchy".

Although cultural marxism does indeed target every individual and harm every individual in the long run, my list of personal solutions outlined in this article will be directed in large part at the categories of people most attacked by the social justice cult today.

It is not enough anymore to simply continue pointing out the insanity of political correctness; we must also take useful steps toward reversing the destruction already wrought.

And so, here are my solutions, which must be enacted by individuals in their daily lives regardless of the potential backlash. Do you have leftist leaning friends or family members? It doesn’t matter. Are you employed in a workplace crawling with social justice ideologues? Stop seeing them as part of the equation because they do not matter. Worried about losing a relationship if you make a stand? Say good riddance. This is what must be done by free thinkers if they are to counter and reverse the collectivist nightmare of cultural Marxism.

Feel no shame: Social justice relies on shaming tactics, usually by slandering an opponent with a label that does not really apply to him, in order to control his arguments and behavior. If you don’t care about being called a bigot, a racist, a sexist, a misogynist, a homophobe, etc., then there is not really much that they can do to you.

Do not self-censor: This does not mean you should go out of your way to be antagonistic or act like an ass, but the thought police have power only if you give power to them. Say what you want to say when you want to say it, and do it with a smile. Let the PC police froth and scream until they have an aneurism. Cultural Marxists are generally weaklings. They avoid physical confrontation like they avoid logic, so why fear them?

Realize there is no such thing as white privilege or male privilege: In reality, there is only institutionalized “privilege” for victim-status groups. There is no privilege for whites, males, white males or straight white males. When confronted with such claims, demand to see proof of such privilege. Invariably, you will get a long list of first world problems and complaints backed by nothing but easily debunked talking points and misrepresented statistics. People should not feel guilty for being born the way they are, and this includes us “white male devils.”

Demand facts to back claims: Cultural Marxists tend to argue on the basis of opinion rather than fact. Present facts to counter their claims, and demand facts and evidence in return. Opinions are irrelevant if the person is not willing to present supporting facts when asked.

Do not play the game of "unconscious bias": If social justice cultists can't counter your position with facts or logic, they will invariably turn to the old standby that you are limited in your insight because you have not lived in the shoes of a - (insert victim group here). I agree. In fact, I would point out that this reality of limited perception also applies to THEM as well. They have not lived in my shoes, therefore they are in no position to claim I enjoy "privilege" while they do not. This is why facts and evidence are so important, and why anecdotal evidence and personal feelings are irrelevant where cultural Marxism is concerned.

Let cultural Marxists know their fears and feelings do not matter: No one is entitled to have teir feelings addressed by others. And, a person’s fears are ultimately unimportant. Whether the issue is the nonexistent “rape culture” or the contempt cultural Marxists feel over private gun ownership, their irrational fears are not our concern. Why should any individual relinquish his liberties in the name of placating frightened nobodies?

Demand that society respect your inherent individual rights: Collectivism’s ultimate propaganda message is that there is no such thing as inherent rights or liberties and that all rights are arbitrary and subject to the whims of the group or the state. This is false. I have written extensively in the past on inherent rights, inborn psychological contents and natural law, referencing diverse luminaries, scientists and thinkers, including Thomas Aquinas, Carl Gustave Jung, Steven Pinker, etc., and I welcome readers to study my many articles on individualism. Freedom is an inborn conception with universally understood aspects. Period. No group or collective is more important than individual liberty. No artificial society has preeminence over the individuals within that society. As long as a person is not directly impeding the life, liberty, prosperity and privacy of another person, he should be left alone.

Maintain your rights; they do not hurt other people: PC cultists will invariably argue that every person, whether he knows it or not, is indirectly harming others with his attitude, his beliefs, his refusal to associate, even his very breathing. "We live in a society", they say, "and everything we do affects everyone else...". Don’t take such accusations seriously; these people do not understand how freedom works.

Say, for instance, hypothetically, that I refuse to bake a gay wedding cake for a couple and I am accused of violating their rights in the name of preserving my own. I would immediately point out that no one is entitled to a gay wedding cake, baked by me or anyone else and I have every right to choose my associations based on whatever criteria I see fit. Now, a corrupt government entity may claim I do not have that right. But the fact is I do, and no one — not even government — can force me to bake a cake if I don’t want to. Also, I would point out that the gay couple in question has every right in a free society to bake their OWN damn cake or open their own cake shop to compete with mine. This is how freedom works. It is not based on collective entitlement; it is based on personal responsibility.

Refuse to deny the scientific fact of biological gender: Gender is first and foremost a genetic imperative. Society does not determine gender roles; nature does. A man who chops up his body and takes hormone pills to look like a woman is not and will never be a woman. A woman who tapes down her breasts and gets a short haircut will never be a man. There is no such thing as “transgendered” people. No amount of social justice or wishful thinking will ever allow them to reverse their genetic proclivities. Their psychological and sexual leanings do not change their inborn biological reality.

By extension, we should refuse to play along with this nonsense. I will never refer to a man in a wig and dress as a “woman.” I will never refer to a woman with identity issues as “transgendered.” They are what nature made them, and we should not police our pronouns just to falsely reassure them that they can deny nature.

Deny the illusion of Utopian equality: There is no such thing as pure equality. Society is not a homogeneous entity, it is an abstraction built around a group of unique individuals. Individuals can be naturally gifted, or naturally challenged. But there will always be some people who are more apt towards success than others.

I have no problem whatsoever with the idea of equality of opportunity, which is exactly what we have in this country (except in the world of elitist finance which is purely driven by nepotism). I do have a problem with the lie of universal equality through engineered means.

Standards of success should not be lowered in order to accommodate the least skilled people to facilitate artificial parity. For example, I constantly hear the argument that more people with victim group status should be given greater representation in positions of influence and regard within our culture, from science and engineering, to media, to business CEO's, to politics, etc. The key word here is "given", rather than "earned". There is nothing wrong with one group of people excelling in a field more than another group, and there is nothing wrong with inequality when it comes to individual achievement. We must begin refusing to reward people for mediocrity and punishing success simply because the winners are not part of a designated victim group.

If you are a man, embrace your role: I am a man and cannot claim to know what specific solutions women should take to counter cultural Marxism. I would love to read an article written on the subject by a woman in the Liberty Movement. I will say that men in particular have a considerable task ahead in terms of their personal endeavors if they hope to repair the destruction of social justice.

For thousands of years, men have been the primary industrial force behind human progress. Today, they are relegated to cubicles and customer service, to video games and Web fantasies, to drug addictions and a lack of responsibility. If we have any chance of undoing the damage of cultural Marxism, modern men must take on their original roles as producers, inventors, entrepreneurs, protectors, builders and warriors once again. They should do this for their own benefit, and not for the validation of others.

You don’t have to prove to anyone you do "manly things", just go out and do them. Most importantly, become dangerous. Men are meant to be dangerous beings. That does not mean we are meant to be indiscriminately violent (just as women aren’t meant to be indiscriminately violent), but we are supposed to be threatening to those who would threaten us. Modern society has NOT removed the need for masculinity and I believe people will begin realizing this the more our culture sinks into economic despair. Train in martial arts, learn tactical firearms handling, go hunting and don’t take lip from people. In my opinion, every man should know how to kill things, even if he never plans on using those abilities.

Home-school your children: It’s simple, if you don’t want your kids propagandized, if you truly want them to be free from collectivist conditioning, then you will make the sacrifice and extract them from public schooling. With the introduction of Common Core into U.S. schools in particular, there is no other recourse but home schooling to prevent the brainwashing of cultural Marxism. If you do not do this, you are relying on the hope that your children will escape with their critical thinking abilities intact. Some do, and some don’t. Others turn into mindless social justice zombies. You can give them an advantage by removing them from a poisonous environment, and that is what matters.

The insane lie that cultural Marxists seem to have conned themselves and others into believing is that their “activism” is somehow anti-establishment. In fact, social justice is constantly coddled and supported by the establishment. From politicians to judges to media pundits to the blogosphere, the overwhelming majority of people in positions of traditional power (even in supposedly conservative circles) have been more than happy to become the enforcers of the social justice warrior agenda, an agenda representing a minuscule portion of the public. There is no establishment for the PC army to fight; the establishment bias works vastly more in favor of their ideology than any other. Cultural Marxists ARE the establishment.

Mysterious maneuvers over the Pacific are forcing a change in Los Angeles International Airport landings late at night, meaning noise for thousands of people in the flight path.

Instead of landing from the east over Inglewood, planes begin flying from the west and over the ocean to keep noise levels down, but due to secret military operations, the airspace over the Pacific is closed to incoming flights for the next week.

“We clearly understand that neighbors and communities east of the airport will experience noise and we apologize for that,” said Nancy Castles, LAX public relations director.

The military is not saying what exactly is causing the change, and LAX claims it’s also in the dark. Castles said all they know is planes can’t be flying at low altitudes to our west.

Second nuclear missile test launched by Navy as U.S. Defense Secretary confirms warning message to America's enemies

(NaturalNews) To the astonishment of Californians, the U.S. Navy has now launched a second thermonuclear missile over Los Angeles. "The second test launch of the Trident II (D5) missile from a ballistic submarine in the Pacific Ocean took place Monday afternoon," reports the LA Times.

As Natural News readers know, two days ago I exhaustively documented the escalation of the covert war between the United States and a Russian-Chinese partnership. The Trident missile launch, I explained, was a "warning shot" against Russia and China:

Last night's test launch of the Trident missile over Orange County was staged near a high population area for a tactical reason: To have as many witnesses (and videos) as possible, sending a very visible warning message to China that says, "We can destroy you if you don't back off."

Russia and China, I explained, are partnering for a "massive first strike" against the United States, involving cyber attacks, economic attacks, missile attacks against US Navy warships and even the possibility of EMP weapons that attack America's power grid infrastructure.

As published in the LA Times, U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter all but said the missile launches are a warning against global aggressors: (bolding added)

The submarine missile test came late Saturday after Defense Secretary Ashton Carter addressed a defense forum at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley about the U.S. "adapting our operational posture and contingency plans" to deter Russia's "aggression."

"We do not seek a cold, let alone a hot, war with Russia," he said to the forum. "We do not seek to make Russia an enemy. But make no mistake; the United States will defend our interests, our allies, the principled international order, and the positive future it affords us all."

In other words, these missile launches are a warning to America's enemies, sending the irrefutable message that we can nuke your cities if you provoke us.

America's enemies are posturing toward war

The very fact that the United States feels it necessary to send such a message is proof that America's enemies are posturing for war. It's the geopolitical equivalent of a dog growling when another dog gets too close to his bowl of food. But this growl costs U.S. taxpayers at least $31 million per missile, and that doesn't even include all the support services and personnel needed to prepare, launch and recover them.

Trident missiles, by the way, have a range of over 4,000 nautical miles. As reference, Honolulu and Beijing are approximately 4400 nautical miles apart. This means a U.S. submarine armed with Trident missiles could launch a nuclear strike on Beijing, China, from anywhere in the mid-Pacific Ocean. (It's the ultimate tactical deterrent.)

It is my opinion that U.S. nuclear submarines are right now the single most important factor preventing China and Russia from escalating their war actions against America. Not only does America have the technical expertise to nuke enemy cities, it has already proven it is willing to drop atomic bombs on civilian populations in order to protect its national interests. If you refute that this has ever happened, you are ignorant of history and probably need to review World War II, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Hungarian Leader: Immigration a “Treasonous” Conspiracy to Marginalize Nation States

“This is betrayal, ladies and gentlemen! Europe has been betrayed! And if we do not stand up for it, this Europe will be taken away from us.” So declared Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán (shown) last Thursday while condemning European leaders who have opened up the continent to waves of mostly Muslim Middle Eastern migrants.

It was not the first time Orbán had inveighed against the migration, which threatens to upend European culture. And it further underlined the chasm separating politically correct Western Europe and what many would call a more culturally correct Eastern Europe.

Speaking to his countrymen, Orbán further warned, “Ladies and gentlemen, what we face is nothing less than the challenge of finding ourselves at the gateway to the implementation of a deliberate conceptual project, which could be described as left-wing and which seeks to marginalize the nation states of Europe. Where this project has failed to overcome Christianity and the identity of the nation state — and the values and responsibility springing from it — in conventional political struggle, it will strive to eliminate it on ethnic grounds.”

Orbán apparently was referring to the collectivist, open-borders, European Union mentality that seeks to replace nationalism with internationalism. And immigration facilitates this agenda. If countries can be so balkanized that there’s no longer “a people” but rather just a disparate collection of “peoples,” there then will be little sense of nationhood and hence little resistance to a loss of sovereignty and dissolution of borders.

And prominent statists have at times alluded to this agenda. Andrew Neather, former aide to ex-British Prime Minister Tony Blair, confessed in 2009 that the massive immigration into the United Kingdom over the last 15 years was designed to “rub the Right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date.” Barack Obama said in February he was “optimistic” statism would prevail “because this country [the United States] just becomes more and more of a hodgepodge of folks.” Then there’s Hungarian-born billionaire investor George Soros, whom Orbán criticized as being a dark hand behind the migrant influx. Soros replied that the prime minister’s “plan treats the protection of national borders as the objective and the refugees as an obstacle. Our plan treats the protection of refugees as the objective and national borders as the obstacle.” Of course, critics would warn that Soros’ true objective has nothing to do with “protection” of refugees.

Calling the EU-facilitated migrant invasion “treason and conspiracy,” Orbán also addressed how European peoples have been visited with migration without representation, saying, “By whom and on what authority were the European leaders tasked with not only admitting but transporting to the European continent hundreds of thousands of people from groups outside European culture, so that little by little European cultural identity will be called into question?”

And Orbán isn’t the only one noting the threat to European culture. Jordanian opposition leader Dr. Mudar Zahran, himself a Muslim asylum-seeker currently living in the United Kingdom, warned last month that the Muslim migrants are not what they appear to be, should be kept out of Europe, and are part of the “Islamic conquest of the West.” Saying, “this is going to change Europe’s culture,” he also claims Europeans are being played for fools. As he revealed, “Read Arab magazines and Arab newspapers; they are talking about, ‘Good job! Now we’re going to conquest [sic] Europe.’” “So,” concluded Zahran, “it’s not even a secret.”

What these Arab publications are alluding to, writes commentator Michele Hickford, is “actually an ancient strategy, straight from the Islamic playbook[,] called The Hijra ... the migration or journey. Hijra is one of the most effective methods of jihad which requires no military or wars. But it is an invasion nonetheless, and the politically-correct, humanitarian West is inviting it with open arms.”

But while such dissenters may feel as voices in the wilderness in the ever-wilder West, Orban’s position is not so uncommon beyond it. Poland just elected an anti-EU, anti-immigration government. And then there’s Orban’s countryman, Hungarian Bishop Laszlo Kiss-Rigo, who criticized Pope Francis for saying that Catholics had a moral duty to help the migrants. Wrote Christianity Today in September:

"They're not refugees. This is an invasion," said Kiss-Rigo. "They come here with cries of 'Allahu Akbar.' They want to take over." Europe is being overwhelmed by non-believers posing as refugees who pose a serious threat to the continent's "Christian, universal values," he said.

… "I'm in total agreement with the prime minister [Orban]," Kiss-Rigo said….

The bishop said that many of the so-called refugees do not deserve assistance because they "have money.”

... Kiss-Rigo said Pope Francis is greatly misinformed about what is really happening. He "doesn't know the situation," he said.

And apparently referring to many migrants’ cultural and religious chauvinism, the bishop bluntly stated, “Most of them behave in a way that is very arrogant and cynical."

More recently Kiss-Rigo’s sentiments were echoed by fellow prelate Cardinal Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, the Maronite patriarch of Antioch. The Lebanese-born cardinal — who has interacted with Muslims his whole life — warned that Islamists are seeking to conquer Europe with religion and procreation. As Breitbart reported last Friday:

“I have often heard from Muslims that their goal is to conquer Europe with two weapons: their faith and their birthrate,” al-Rahi said in a recent interview with Famiglia Cristiana, an Italian Catholic weekly magazine.

For the Muslims, the Cardinal said, “the practice of the faith is essential and fundamental. In Saudi Arabia they go to Friday prayers even if they need a walking stick. They know the Koran by heart, and when they talk they often cite it. The same is not true for Christians who do not refer either to the Bible or the teachings of the Church.”

The Muslims “believe that God’s will is to procreate and that marriage is aimed at this,” he said. “They think that numbers will give them the upper hand.”

Christians, however, “hardly get married anymore, and have few children,” he said.

No doubt. Birthrates all throughout Europe are below replacement level (2.1 children per couple); in parts of Spain and Italy it’s below 1. Orban’s nation is a prime example. As the Express reported, “The population of Hungary has declined every year since 1980, and in 2011 fell below 10 million for the first time since 1960.”

Orbán recognizes this problem, but understands that the solution to a below-replacement-level birthrate is not replacing the people. As he recently warned, “Europe cannot build its future on immigration instead of families.” For while many tout immigration as a source of workers and a solution for a graying West (interestingly, though, it’s never mentioned as a remedy for a graying Japan), some may detect a double standard. With millions of Chinese entering Tibet during the last few decades, anthropologists sometimes label the influx cultural or demographic genocide. In the West, however, the same phenomenon is billed as “diversity” and is so welcomed by “elites” that Swedish Social Democrat politician Mona Sahlin actually said in 2001, “The Swedes must be integrated into the new Sweden; the old Sweden is never coming back.”

And in light of comments such as that, many may understand why Prime Minister Orbán says “Europe has been betrayed.”

US-Turkey Invasion Derailed by Syrian Army Triumph at Kuweires

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) achieved its greatest victory in the four year-long war on Tuesday when it recaptured the strategic Kuweires military airbase in North Syria. Hundreds of ISIS terrorists were killed in intense fighting while hundreds more were sent fleeing eastward towards Raqqa. The victory was announced just hours after Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour that Turkey would be willing to invade Syria as long as Washington agreed to provide air support, create a safe zone along the Syrian-Turkish border, and remove Syrian President Bashar al Assad.

Now that Kuweires has been liberated, Davutoğlu will have to reconsider his offer taking into consideration the fact that Russian warplanes will now be within striking distance of the border while troops and artillery will be positioned in a way that makes crossing into Syria as difficult as possible. The window for Turkish troops to enter Syria unopposed has closed. Any attempt to invade the country now will result in stiff resistance and heavy casualties.

To fully understand the significance of Kuweires, we need take a look at Amanpour’s interview with Davutoglu and see what was being planned. Here’s an excerpt:

Christiane Amanpour: Would Turkey, under the right conditions, agree to be a ground force?

PM Ahmet Davutoğlu: “A ground force is something which we have to talk [about] together. There’s a need of an integrated strategy including air campaign and ground troops. But Turkey alone cannot take all this burden. If there is a coalition and a very well designed integrated strategy, Turkey is ready to take part in all senses.”

C.A.: Including on the ground?

Davutoğlu: Yes, of course….We have to solve the Syrian crisis in a comprehensive manner.

C.A.: So I understand what you’re saying is that the condition for Turkey to be more involved would be an agreement by a coalition to also go after Assad?

Davutoğlu: Yes, and against all groups and regimes that are creating this vacuum and this problem. On many days we are assisting the coalition in (the fight) against ISIS, but it is not enough. Now we are suggesting to our allies for many months–and now we are suggesting again–to create a safe haven and to push ISIS far away from our borders.

C.A.: So what do you make of the US, Europe and especially Russia saying Assad must and can stay for a period of time?

Davutoğlu: …..The question is not how long can Assad stay, the question is when and how Assad will go. …What is the solution. The solution is very clear. It is when millions of Syrian refugees are able to return home, assuming there is peace in Syria, then this is the solution. And if Assad stays in power in Damascus, I don’t think any refugee will go back. There is a need of a step by step strategy, but what is the endgame? What is the light at the end of the tunnel, that is what is important to the refugees.

C.A.: Why is the Turkish government making it hard for the US government to arm and train and use Kurdish fighters as their ground troops?

Davutoğlu: (we are not making it hard for the US government to use the) “Kurds”, but the PYD as a wing of the PKK…

There is another Kurdish group, the Peshmerga. We allowed the Peshmerga to go through Turkey to go to Kobani in order to help Kobani to be free. If the US wants to arm Kurdish fighters on the ground against ISIS, we are ready. But not Kurdish terrorists like PKK. If they want to arm and help Barzani, or Peshmerga and help them go to Syria, we are ready to help. But everybody must understand, that today PKK is attacking our cities, our soldiers and our civilians. We will not tolerate any help to any PKK-related groups inside Syria or Iraq. Let’s recap: Even though the Russian-led coalition is conducting major military operations in Syria, Turkey is willing to invade provided that Washington meet its demands, demands that have never changed and which (we have said in earlier columns) were part of a secret deal for the use of the Incirlik airbase so the USAF could conduct sorties over Syria.

What are Turkey’s demands:

1 A safe zone on the Syrian side of the Turkish-Syrian border

2 A no-fly zone over areas where Turkish troops are conducting operations

3 A commitment to remove Assad.

For a while it looked like the Obama administration might abandon their alliance with Turkey and join with the PYD (The Kurds) in their effort to create a buffer zone where they could harbor, arm and train Sunni militants to continue hostilities in Syria. In fact, Obama went so far as to air-drop pallet-loads of weapons and ammo to the Democratic Union Party (PYD) militia just 10 days ago. (Note: The US has already stopped all weapons shipments to the PYD) Whether Obama did this to force Turkey into playing a more active role in Syria, we don’t know. But what we do know is that a Turkish-US alliance is more formidable than a PYD-US alliance, which is why Washington is planning to sell out the Kurds to join-forces with Turkey.

Another sign that US-Turkish relations have begun to thaw, is the fact that Obama phoned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to congratulate him on his party’s victory eight days after the election. The delay suggests that they were working out their differences before expressions of support. Erdogan needed the landslide victory to consolidate his power in Parliament and to persuade the military brass that he has a mandate to carry out his foreign policy. Obama’s phone call was intended to pave the way for backroom negotiations which would take place during next week’s G-20 meetings in Ankara. But now that the Russian-led coalition has retaken Kuweires, it is impossible to know how the US and Turkey will proceed. If Putin’s warplanes and artillery are able to seal the border, then Washington will have to scrap its plan for seizing the 60-miles stretch of northern Syria that’s needed to keep vital supplylines to US-backed jihadis open or to provide sanctuary for mercenaries returning from the frontlines. The changing battlescape will make a safe zone impossible to defend.The fact is, Kuweires changes everything. ISIS is on the run, the myriad other terrorist organizations are progressively losing ground, Assad is safe in Damascus, the borders will soon be protected, and the US-Turkey plan to invade has effectively been derailed. Barring some extraordinary, unforeseeable catastrophe that could reverse the course of events; it looks like the Russian-led coalition will eventually achieve its objectives and win the war. Washington will have no choice but to return to the bargaining table and make the concessions necessary to end the hostilities.

The release Thursday of the 5,544-paget ext of the Trans-Pacific Partnership—a trade and investment agreement involving 12 countries comprising nearly 40 percent of global output—confirms what even its most apocalyptic critics feared.

“The TPP, along with the WTO [World Trade Organization] and NAFTA [North American Free Trade Agreement], is the most brazen corporate power grab in American history,” Ralph Nader told me when I reached him by phone in Washington, D.C. “It allows corporations to bypass our three branches of government to impose enforceable sanctions by secret tribunals. These tribunals can declare our labor, consumer and environmental protections [to be] unlawful, non-tariff barriers subject to fines for noncompliance. The TPP establishes a transnational, autocratic system of enforceable governance in defiance of our domestic laws.”

The TPP is part of a triad of trade agreements that includes the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and the Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA). TiSA, by calling for the privatization of all public services, is a mortal threat to the viability of the U.S. Postal Service, public education and other government-run enterprises and utilities; together these operations make up 80 percent of the U.S. economy. The TTIP and TiSA are still in the negotiation phase. They will follow on the heels of the TPP and are likely to go before Congress in 2017.

These three agreements solidify the creeping corporate coup d’état along with the final evisceration of national sovereignty. Citizens will be forced to give up control of their destiny and will be stripped of the ability to protect themselves from corporate predators, safeguard the ecosystem and find redress and justice in our now anemic and often dysfunctional democratic institutions. The agreements—filled with jargon, convoluted technical, trade and financial terms, legalese, fine print and obtuse phrasing—can be summed up in two words: corporate enslavement.

The TPP removes legislative authority from Congress and the White House on a range of issues. Judicial power is often surrendered to three-person trade tribunals in which only corporations are permitted to sue. Workers, environmental and advocacy groups and labor unions are blocked from seeking redress in the proposed tribunals. The rights of corporations become sacrosanct. The rights of citizens are abolished.

Here’s An Inside Look At China’s Frightening New Move To Control Social Behavior

The Internet has become a tool for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to keep its citizens in place. Through the web, the government surveils their every move and puts them behind bars if their online behavior is not in line with Beijing’s sentiment.

Recently, Chinese officials began developing a social credit system in which the government keeps what amounts to an Internet credibility score on each citizen. Experts discussed the system during the ongoing China Forum in Washington, D.C., which they say reveals a real-world 1984-style totalitarian state in the making.

“It will mark the arrival of an unprecedented information totalitarianism,” said Cao Yaxue, a Chinese writer and renown critic of CCP. “It’s issuing a driver’s license for speech. You will be subjected to point deduction for violation of speech. Once you have no points left, you will be barred from going on the road again.”

As the name implies, the system holds a score on every citizen and business based on their social behavior. The things you buy and people you socialize with are subject for review. Every word typed and posted on the Internet will decide whether a person is “raising the honest mentality and credit levels of the entire society.”

Based on how these behaviors are in-sync with the beliefs of the CCP, a person’s score will go up and down. The credit rating is directly related to a person’s access to social services, such as education and health care. When a person runs out of points all together, they will no longer be allowed to leave their homes.

The CCP has not been silent about the new system and takes pride in “strengthening the sincerity consciousness of the members of society,” as described in the law that passed last summer.

“Accelerating the construction of a social credit system is an important basis for comprehensively implementing the scientific development view and building a harmonious Socialist society,” an excerpt of the law reads. “It is an important method to perfect the Socialist market economy system, accelerating and innovating social governance, and it has an important significance for strengthening the sincerity consciousness of the members of society.”

The database that keeps the scores will gradually be developed over the next five years. A series of laws to restrict freedom of speech has been passed over the past years to prevent espionage and foreign NGOs from operating freely.

“In the last three years systematic measures were taken to smother what they conceive threats and challenges,” Yaxue said. “Up to 300 human rights lawyers were questioned and they now remain in secret detention without the right of access to lawyers.”

Amendment Act 9 passed this week, making rumor-spreading a criminal offense punishable with three years in prison. Any statement that doesn’t come from the state-run newspapers or television stations will be considered a rumor, according to Yaxue.

The system began to form when CCP leaders met to discuss the financial, social, cyber and diplomatic state of the nation in July, 2012.

Wang Juntao was one of China’s most famous free speech activist during Mao Zedong era. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison for organizing the Tinnamen Square protest in 1989, in which hundreds of people were killed for standing up against the CCP.

The shift toward a more free society that Juntao has experience in recent years has taken a U-turn following the appointment of Xi Jinping as president in 2013.

“He wants to rebuild legitimacy with traditional Chinese market ideas about how to build China,” he said. “He wants to tighten the party state machine with control over the state society… There is a disaster happening in China right now.”

A significant event that marked the start of the new wave of oppression was a New Years greeting by a liberal-leaning newspaper. The op-ed called for constitutional change in China, but it was never printed. The propaganda official overseeing the newspaper changed the content without notifying the editors, and Yaxue said the media have been completely controlled by the government ever since.

“Looking back it’s a very symbolic event,” she said. “A liberal-leaning paper revolted against the party’s control and intrusion.Other liberal-leaning papers today are following to the same situation. They went silent or were just completely taken over.”

IV Vitamin C Will Stop Growth of Aggressive Forms of Cancer

High-dose vitamin C has been studied as a treatment for patients with cancer since the 1970s. It can completely shut down specific types of tumors. According to a new study from Weill Cornell Medicine investigators, scientists could one day harness vitamin C to develop targeted treatments.

Vitamin C has a broad spectrum antioxidant function with the ability to protect cell structures and DNA from free radical damage. It is remarkably safe even in enormously high doses. Compared to commonly used prescription drugs, side effects are virtually nonexistent. No matter how high the concentration, vitamin C does not harm healthy cells. Yet, through an array of enzymatic and metabolic reactions, vitamin C has an impressive ability to protect and treat a wide range of diseases, including cancer.

Colorectal cancer is the third most-common cancer diagnosed in the United States, with about 93,090 new cases each year. Around half of those cases harbor mutations in specific KRAS and BRAF genes; these forms of the disease are more aggressive and don’t respond well to current therapies or chemotherapy.

In a recent study published in Science, a team of researchers from Weill Cornell Medicine, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Tufts Medical Center, Harvard Medical School and The Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center found that high doses of vitamin C -- roughly equivalent to the levels found in 300 oranges -- impaired the growth of mutant colorectal tumors in cultured cells and mice. The findings could lead to the development of new natural treatments and provide critical insights into who would most benefit from them.

The benefits of long-term vitamin C consumption in excess of the U.S. government recommended daily allowance (RDA) are widely acknowledged and include reduced risks of cancer, cardiovascular disease and cataracts. Higher-than-RDA vitamin C intakes have been associated with increases in good HDL cholesterol, decreases in LDL cholesterol oxidation, decreased blood pressure and decreased cardiovascular mortality.

The first physician to aggressively use vitamin C to treat disease was Frederick R. Klenner, M.D., beginning in the early 1940s. Dr. Klenner successfully treated chicken pox, measles, mumps, tetanus and polio with huge doses of vitamin C. He used massive doses of vitamin C for more than 40 years of family practice. Many practioners who practice with IV vitamin C consider the treatment more effective than any vaccine ever invented.

"Our findings provide a mechanistic rationale for exploring the therapeutic use of vitamin C to treat colorectal cancers that carry KRAS or BRAF mutations," said senior author Dr. Lewis Cantley, the Meyer Director of the Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center and the Margaret and Herman Sokol Professor in Oncology Research at Weill Cornell Medicine.

The second mechanism of action is actually a pro-oxidant effect. Doses above 15 grams are proven to have a “pro-oxidant” effect by generating hydrogen peroxide, which in turn selectively destroys cancer cells. High doses of vitamin C are preferentially delivered to the areas surrounding the tumour because the vitamin molecule looks similar to a sugar molecule and cancer cells have an increased demand for sugar to fuel their unregulated growth. When in the area surrounding the cells, the vitamin C molecule reacts with a metal ion such as iron or copper and forms a hydrogen peroxide molecule that damages the cancer cell.

The conventional wisdom is that vitamin C improves health in part because it can act as an antioxidant, preventing or delaying some types of cell damage. However, Dr. Cantley and his colleagues discovered that the opposite was true in regards to high-dose vitamin C’s therapeutic effects for the KRAS and BRAF forms of colorectal cancer -- they occur as a result of inducing oxidation in these cancer cells.

In an oxygen-rich environment such as human arteries, a fraction of vitamin C, also called ascorbic acid, becomes oxidized and is transformed into a new compound called dehydroascorbic acid (DHA). Scientists have known for some time that a specific membrane protein, known as glucose transporter GLUT1, enables both glucose and DHA to enter cells -- an activity not afforded to ascorbic acid. But it was less clear what DHA does once inside the cells.

In the study, investigators show that DHA acts like a Trojan horse. Once inside, natural antioxidants inside the cancer cell attempt to convert the DHA back to ascorbic acid; in the process, these antioxidants are depleted and the cell dies from oxidative stress.

"While many normal cells also express GLUT1, KRAS-mutant and BRAF-mutant cancer cells typically have much higher levels since they require a high rate of glucose uptake in order to survive and grow," Dr. Cantley said. "Also, KRAS and BRAF mutant cells produce more reactive oxygen species than normal cells and therefore need more antioxidants in order to survive. This combination of characteristics makes these cancer cells far more vulnerable to DHA than normal cells or other types of cancer cells."

Although Dr. Cantley cautioned that these results need to be evaluated in the setting of a human clinical trial, the pre-clinical findings may offer a promising new treatment strategy for the KRAS or BRAF forms of the disease, perhaps as part of a combination therapy. The investigators say their study could lead to the development of new biomarkers that could help physicians determine who would most benefit from treatment. These insights may also have implications for other hard-to-treat cancers that express high levels of GLUT1 transporter, such as renal cell carcinoma, bladder cancer and pancreatic cancer.

Vitamin C has multiple effects on cellular functions in addition to its anti- or pro-oxidant functions, so it will be important to study the effects of high-dose vitamin C on normal and immune cells, said lead author Dr. Jihye Yun, a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Cantley’s lab.

Some human studies of high-dose IV vitamin C in patients with cancer have shown improved quality of life, as well as improvements in physical, mental, and emotional functions, symptoms of fatigue, nausea and vomiting, pain, and appetite loss.

"Further study is definitely needed to expand our understanding of these processes. But now that we know the mechanisms, we can utilize the knowledge wisely to get the desired effects," she said.

"This is not a therapy that you would want to wander into blindly without knowledge of what is going on in your tumor," Dr. Cantley added.

Dosing recommendations also need to be determined. Therapeutic benefit would likely require intravenous injections, as oral doses are not absorbed efficiently in the intestine to achieve the high serum concentration of vitamin C needed to cause toxicity to these cancer cells. Recent phase I clinical trials conducted on humans to test toxicity have shown that intravenous infusion of vitamin C at doses that converted to similar levels of serum as the Cantley mice trials had good safety profiles.

The dosage and route of administration of vitamin C is essential to determine if it has a direct anti-tumour action or a supportive, antioxidant function. The levels needed to achieve direct tumorcidal effects are at least 200-1000 micromol/L. To achieve these higher anti-cancer levels, IV doses of 25-50 grams are required. 50 grams of IV vitamin C can achieve a plasma level of over 14,000 micromol/L. Oral supplementation is insufficient due to very limited absorption in the digestive tract. Plasma vitamin C levels peak after 200 mg of oral supplementation, and maximal oral dosing before loose stools occur is around 4 grams. Oral absorption can be increased if doses are split up during the day, taken with a meal, or in a sustained released formula. Even when using the same 10 gram dose, intravenous administration achieved a 50-150 fold greater plasma vitamin C level compared to oral supplementation.

Vitamin C (and in turn hydrogen peroxide) levels peak within 30 minutes after IV administration and then return to normal within 24 hours. This makes the direct anti-cancer treatment effective for only a short period time and therefore frequent treatments are needed. The benefit of this is that other therapies can be used in short succession after vitamin C without fear of interactions. Most integrative oncologists recommend IV treatments once or twice a week, with oral supplementation on all the other days, for at least 12 months, with regular lab testing to assess tumour markers and progression.

"Our hope is that our study will inspire the scientific community to take a fresh look at this safe and inexpensive natural molecule and stimulate both basic and clinical research regarding vitamin C as a cancer therapy," Dr. Yun said.
