And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.”

King Over Them

Dear Friends,

Greetings! Whenever we come across news reports concerning discoveries in Egypt concerning Osiris especially in conjunction with the Giza Plateau our interest is immediately aroused. Both the Giza Plateau and Osiris figure significantly in EndTime events,

particularly concerning the son of perdition, the antichrist.

This week, there were two such articles from the website Ancient Origins. Below are extracts from both the articles. You can read further down the entire articles, which include photographs and drawings.

After Decades of Searching, the Causeway for the Great Pyramid of Egypt has been Found

Dozens of foreign missions carried out over three decades using the latest high-tech instruments failed to find the causeway of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Now, unexpectedly, the passage has finally been located by a local resident living near the Giza Plateau... when he discovered a tunnel leading to the Pyramid of Khufu. For now, very little information has been released regarding the discovery of the passageway leading to the Great Pyramid in Giza.

Archeologists discover Mythical Tomb of Osiris, God of the Dead, in Egypt

A Spanish-Italian archaeological team, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, has made an incredible discovery in the necropolis of Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, on the West Bank at Thebes, Egypt – an enormous ancient reproduction of the mythical Tomb of Osiris as described by Egyptian legend, complete with multiple shafts and chambers.

The tomb embodies all the features of the tomb of Osiris, as told in ancient Egyptian legends

“The symbolism of Osiris is very evident here, since all the elements recalling the mythical Osiris tomb are present,” writes Luxor Times Magazine

Most Bible scholars who study Bible prophecy concur that Apollyon/Osiris/Nimrod are the same entity only referred to by different names.

The information below will give more insight into the importance of these recent discoveries.

The quotes from Peter Goodgame are of particular interest. (Some of this material has been published previously.)

“Rudolf Steiner in his Egyptian Myths and Mysteries further acknowledged: “The Greeks… recognized that Osiris was the same as the god whom they called Apollo.” Convincing evidence also exists that even further back in time the historical figure upon whom these myths were based was the legendary King Enmerkar of Uruk, known in the Bible as Nimrod. Peter Goodgame makes reference to this in The Giza Discovery:

“And just who is this Greek god Apollyon who makes his strange appearance in the book of Revelation? Charles Penglase is an Australian professor who specializes in ancient Greek and Near Eastern religion and mythology. In his book, Greek Myths and Mesopotamia: Parallels and Influence in the Homeric Hymns and Hesiod, Penglase carefully and methodically demonstrates that the Greek myths and legends of Apollo were simply Greek retellings of the Babylonian myths involving the rise to power of the god Marduk, which were themselves based on earlier legends of the Sumerian hunter/hero known as Ninurta. Furthermore, according to David Rohl, the original name for Ninurta was in fact Nimurda, whose historical identity can be traced back to King Enmerkar of Uruk, the very same figure who is known in the Bible as Nimrod.”

Rudolf Steiner in his Egyptian Myths and Mysteries further acknowledged: “The Greeks… recognized that Osiris was the same as the god whom they called Apollo.” [9] Convincing evidence also exists that even further back in time the historical figure upon whom these myths were based was the legendary King Enmerkar of Uruk, known in the Bible as Nimrod. Peter Goodgame makes reference to this in The Giza Discovery.

"Belief that these gods—or more accurately the single entity represented by these many names—would return to rule the earth one day, is not limited to Masonic mystics or the divine manifestation from the Apostle Paul to the Thessalonians (2 Thessalonians 2:3). The return of these gods “to an active and outward position as rulers of mankind is predicted in the Asclepius,” notes Peter Goodgame, “which is predicted to come after the long period of spiritual decline in Egypt.”

The prophecy Goodgame refers to from the ancient Asclepius says: “Those gods who rule the earth will be restored, and they will be installed in a city at the furthest threshold of Egypt, which will be founded towards the setting sun and to which all human kind will hasten by land and by sea.”

Goodgame notes the physical whereabouts of the “city” in this prophecy, it is the Giza Plateau, as located by Garth Fowden in his book, The Egyptian Hermes.

“… in answer to Asclepius enquiry where these gods are at the moment, Trismegistus replies (at Ascl. 27): ‘In a very great city, in the mountains of Libya (in monte Libyco)’, by which is meant the edge of the desert plateau to the west of the Nile valley. A subsequent reference (Ascl. 37) to the temple and tomb of Asclepius (Imhotep) in monte Libyae establishes that the allusion at Ascl. 27 is to the ancient and holy Memphite necropolis, which lay on the desert jabal to the west of Memphis itself.”

The ‘mountains of Libya,’” Goodgame concludes, “is simply a reference to the plateau that rises above the desert on the west bank of the Nile, west of the ancient city of Memphis. In other words, according to this Hermetic prediction, when the Kosmokrators are ‘restored’ they will be ‘installed in a city’ on or near the Giza Plateau.”

Will the ancient super-man Apollo-Osiris rise from a hidden tomb at the Giza Plateau, as Goodgame believes may be the case? If so, the Asclepius could have been more than a pagan prophecy. It may have been a record pointing to where the body of the ‘god’ was stored in times past. Do the occult masters already know this, and is this why an unfinished pyramid adorns the Great Seal of the United States, over which the portentous eye of Apollo-Osiris glares from the ancient past? Has DNA been recovered from Giza that is needed for the return of this god? Will a forbidden ‘science’ that once allowed incarnation and ‘deity’ status to powerful fallen beings be restored in this modern age? Prophecy may suggest exactly this, and for the immediate future.”

Apollyon Rising 2012 From Parts Thirteen, Fourteen and Eighteen – Tom Horn

Below is a commentary on a prophecy involving Memphis Egypt and the soon-coming world ruler, the anti-christ.

Memphis

Back in 1965 we received the "WARNING PROPHECY" in which the Lord said: "Turn your eyes toward Memphis (the great political/commercial capital of the ancient Egyptian empire), for out of it shall come the Great Confusion!" He said that the Author of Confusion was already operating then and gathering nations around him in order to come, with the help of a great nation and nations of the East, to take over the World.

This "Author of Confusion" definitely sounds like the antichrist, and if so, then either he is to come from Egypt, or the beginning of this End time period will occur in Egypt or come out of Egypt in some way.

So the antichrist is apparently either going to rise out of Egypt or have something strongly to do with Egypt.-- Just as the Lord considers Jerusalem so important to His World government of the future, so the Devil considers Egypt extremely important to his coming World government of the future.

Apparently Egypt is very dear to the Devil, because thousands of years ago, during the time of the great pharaohs, it was his world capital, and at that time it was full of his demonic religion and his demon-possessed idols and demon-possessed people and witchcraft and magicians and all the rest! It was virtually a sample of the coming Antichrist World government. So perhaps the Devil, in a sense, is going to try to revive the grandeur and glory of ancient Egypt and his first great glorious Empire in the soon-coming government of the Antichrist! The famous prophetess, Jeanne Dixon, had a vision of the Antichrist as a descendent of the Pharaohs--and he's certainly a descendent of the Pharaohs in spirit, because he's anti-God, anti-Christ, anti-the prophets of God, etc.” David Berg 1983

Giza Plateau

“From north to south: parts of the city of Giza, the Giza Necropolis, and part of the Giza plateau

The Giza Plateau (Arabic: جيزة بلاتي‎) is a plateau that is located in Giza, Egypt. The famous Giza Necropolis is located in this geographical area, which is characterized by a sandy, desert climate and terrain with little vegetation.

Modern Giza's layout is accessed by two main roads. The first from the north leads to Khufu's pyramids and the other road leads near the Sphinx's forecourt from the east. They cross the Nile River from the east bank and follow the causeway westward. Dominating the plateau and running in a southwest diagonal through the site are the three pyramids of the pharaohs Khufu, Khafra, and Menkaura. The northernmost, and the largest one belongs the Khufu.” Wikipedia

What this is saying to us is that we are getting very, very, close to seeing the fulfillment of Bible Prophecy.

Have a great week ahead.

Hardline Israelis anger Palestinians by trying to reclaim prayer rights at Jerusalem's most famous holy site

As Muslims and Jews assert ownership over the Jerusalem's most famous holy site, some fear the competing beliefs risk igniting a full-scale religious conflict

Right-wing religious Jews visit the Al Aqsa/Temple Mount complex in December, escorted by police men Photo: Robert Tait

By Robert Tait, Jerusalem

8:00AM GMT 07 Jan 2015

The Jewish visitors knew within seconds that they had entered hostile territory.

Scores of hooded Palestinian women, their faces covered, chanted a shrill chorus of Allah-u akbar (God is great) as wary policemen looked on.

A police officer used a video camera to film one woman who, holding the hand of a toddler carrying a toy gun, protested the newcomers' arrival with particular vehemence.

The scene of the confrontation was the Al Aqsa Mosque complex, the most sensitive - and hotly contested - religious shrine in Jerusalem's historic Old City, and known to Jews as the Temple Mount.

Such scenes have become increasingly common in recent months as radical Jewish groups - often backed by Right-wing Israeli politicians - have entered the site trying to claim worship rights in the face of opposition from Muslims, who insist it is rightfully and exclusively theirs.

The women - members of the Murabitat (defenders of the faith) movement - were trying to counter what many Palestinians see as a creeping takeover by Jewish extremists of the 35.6 acre compound, considered the third holiest site in Islam.

The all-male Jewish group was visiting because the compound is also regarded as the most sacred location in Judaism, whose adherents believe it to be where the two ancient Jewish temples stood and the site of their foundation stone.

Similar stand-offs happen almost daily at the compound - a sweeping open plaza dominated by the 1,400-year-old Al Aqsa mosque, one of the world's oldest, and the dazzling gold-plated Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem's most recognizable architectural landmark and the spot from where the Prophet Mohammed reputedly made his flight to heaven.

Their frequency has established the Al Aqsa/Temple Mount site as Jerusalem's most dangerous flashpoint, capable of triggering a third Palestinian intifada (uprising) or even an international conflict, according to Danny Seidemann, an Israeli lawyer who tracks political developments in the city.

At issue, Jewish campaigners say, is the right of Jews to worship at their religion's holiest site. That right has been denied for as long as the complex has been an Islamic shrine since the 7the century AD. It was re-affirmed by a 1967 agreement between Israel and the Al Aqsa authorities, known as the waqf, after Israeli forces captured East Jerusalem, including the holy sites, from Jordan in the Six Day War.

The accord, commonly referred to as the status quo, states that only Muslims have the right pray. Jews and other non-Muslims are allowed to visit at certain times of the day but cannot pray.

But nationalist Israeli Jews are trying to overturn it, arguing that the current arrangement tramples their civil rights and religious freedom.

"The Temple Mount is holy. The status quo isn't holy, it's evil," said Ya'acov Hayman, leader of the Haliba organisation, one of several groups calling for "Jewish freedom" on the site.

"We want legislation making sure that our rights are respected. We will soon be suing the government of Israel for failing to respect the civil rights of Jews and other non-Muslims on the Temple Mount. Ninety-five per cent of the area of Temple Mount is open space and there is no reason whatsoever why that can't be shared space. "

Mr Hayman - who was last year arrested for openly praying and singing the Israeli national anthem inside the complex - said the rules must be changed even if it risked triggering a religious conflict with Muslims who would be likely to see it as an attack on their faith.

"Could there be bloodshed? That's up to the Arabs," he said. "If they are not willing to accept non-Muslim rights then non-Muslims have to be willing to struggle to get them, even if it means armed struggle. We cannot let Muslims continue on their path to world domination."

The increasing clamour has been accompanied by a procession of high-profile visits by ministers in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet and members of his Likud party, prompting outrage among Muslim officials in charge of Al Aqsa, who see a hidden agenda to oust them.

Some fear the existence of a long-term plan to overturn Muslim sovereignty and build a third Jewish temple, a topic that is increasingly prominent in the curricula of Jewish religious schools which come under the authority of Israel's education ministry.

"Al-Aqsa's presence in Jerusalem connects two billion Muslims across the world to Palestine," said Dr Ekrima Sa'eed Sabri, head of the Islamic supreme committee, which has authority over the waqf, and a former mufti of Jerusalem. "They think that if they can break the connection between Muslims and al-Aqsa, it will break the relationship between Muslims and Palestine.

"It's a dishonourable competition between the Israeli political parties linked to the coming elections. Netanyahu is trying to appease the Right-wing so he can stay as prime minister."

Mr Netanyahu - who had previously tolerated the visits of his ministers to the site - was forced to act in October after the attempted assassination of Yehuda Glick, a prominent Jewish Temple Mount campaigner, by a Palestinian from East Jerusalem.

After Israeli forces tracked down and killed the would-be assassin, Muataz Hijazi, Mr Netanyahu ordered the complex temporarily closed, to Muslims as well as Jews - prompting Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian leader, to accuse him of "an act of war".

As tensions mounted amid a series of "lone wolf" attacks in Jerusalem and elsewhere that left 11 Israelis dead, the Israeli leader held crisis talks in Amman with King Abdullah of Jordan, which retains administrative control over the holy sites, and John Kerry, the US secretary of state.

He agreed to restrain his ministers from visiting the compound in the presence of television cameras while lifting age restrictions on Muslims allowed to attend Friday prayers. He also denied any intention to alter the "status quo" banning Jews from praying there.

That disclaimer is disbelieved by Al Aqsa officials, as well as by some Israelis, who believe the prime minister shares the same goal as the radical campaigners but has decided to proceed stealthily.

"The status quo has already changed," said Shaykh Omar Awadallah Kiswani, director of the Al-Aqsa mosque. "With all the police and the restrictions on religious freedom we have seen, the place feels more like an armed camp than a place of worship. In the media, Netanyahu calls for calm. But he says one thing and does another, because I see what's happening on the ground. "

The prime minister believes Israel must assert full control over a site which the late Moshe Dayan, the legendary former Israeli defence minister and military figure, decided should stay in the hands of the Muslim authorities, according to Menachem Klein, a political scientist at Bar Ilan University in Tel Aviv.

"Netanyahu has reacted to external pressure from King Abdullah and John Kerry and decided to go carefully by lowering the issue's profile, " he said.

"But it's not that he want anything different from what the radicals want. He just wants to go in small steps but keep the subject of the Temple Mount as a place Israel must rule fully. He is not sincere when he talks about keeping the status quo and is definitely not ready to negotiate transferring sovereignty to the Palestinians or anyone else."

After Decades of Searching, the Causeway for the Great Pyramid of Egypt has been Found

4 JANUARY, 2015 - 08:26 APRILHOLLOWAY

Dozens of foreign missions carried out over three decades using the latest high-tech instruments failed to find the causeway of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Now, unexpectedly, the passage has finally been located by a local resident living near the Giza Plateau, who was illegally digging beneath his home when he discovered a tunnel leading to the Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three pyramids in Giza.

Arabic news source Ahram.org reports that a resident in the village of El Haraneya in Giza, a prohibited area for drilling, began digging beneath his house to a depth of about 10 meters (33 feet), when he discovered a passage consisting of huge stone blocks.

The Minister of Police for Tourism and Antiquities was alerted to the discovery and security forces immediately placed a cordon around the property. The Ministry of Antiquities was notified of the incredible finding, and archaeologist Kamal Wahid was placed in charge of a committee to investigate. In its report, the committee confirms the finding of the corridor leading to the Great Pyramid, the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in Giza.

The Khufu pyramid complex consisted of a Valley Temple near the Nile River, which was once connected to a long causeway that led to the Temple of Khufu (also known by the Hellenized name, Cheops). This temple was connected to the pyramid. The discovery of basalt paving and limestone walls suggests the Valley Temple is buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman.

Despite decades of research and excavations, only a few remnants of the causeway (a covered, raised road, like an above ground tunnel), which linked the pyramid with the Valley Temple have been found, until now.

Ancient Greek Historian Herodotus, who visited the Great Pyramid in the 5th century BC, described the causeway as being about a kilometre (0.6 miles) long, though this account is contested by modern Egyptologists. Former Minister of State for Antiquities, Dr Zahi Hawass, estimated the total length of the causeway as being about 825 meters.

In his second book of ‘Histories’, Herodotus described the causeway as being totally enclosed and decorated in fine reliefs. He wrote:

there passed ten years while the causeway was made by which they drew the stones, which causeway they built, and it is a work not much less, as it appears to me, than the pyramid; for the length of it is five furlongs and the breadth ten fathoms and the height, where it is highest, eight fathoms, and it is made of stone smoothed and with figures carved upon it. For this, they said, the ten years were spent, and for the underground chambers on the hill upon which the pyramids stand”

Herodotus: Second book of the Histories.

The causeway of the second pyramid of Giza, Khafra’s pyramid, survived to some degree, however, it is in Saqqara, at the causeway of Unas’ pyramid, where one is able to get a better perspective for what they once looked like. The Unas’ causeway, which even has a small section of the roof remaining, is the best surviving causeway.

“It consisted of a covered passageway, 720m long, its interior surfaces decorated with high quality reliefs depicting a range of colourful scenes,” writes the Egyptian sites blog. “The walls were lit by a slit in the roof of the causeway which ran along the whole of its length. The theme of decoration on the causeway walls progresses from the living world in the east to the land of the dead in the west.”

For now, very little information has been released regarding the discovery of the passageway leading to the Great Pyramid in Giza. However, it is hoped that as investigations by the Ministry of Antiquities progress, we may have a much richer understanding of the great pyramid complex at Giza.

Archeologists discover Mythical Tomb of Osiris, God of the Dead, in Egypt

3 JANUARY, 2015 - 02:14 APRILHOLLOWAY

A Spanish-Italian archaeological team, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, has made an incredible discovery in the necropolis of Sheikh Abd el-Qurna, on the West Bank at Thebes, Egypt – an enormous ancient reproduction of the mythical Tomb of Osiris as described by Egyptian legend, complete with multiple shafts and chambers. Inside the tomb complex, researchers found a carving of Osiris and a room with a wall relief depicting a demon holding knives.

According to the Spanish news agency EFE, the tomb embodies all the features of the tomb of Osiris, as told in ancient Egyptian legends, and is a smaller version of the design of the Osireion, built under Egyptian pharaoh Seti I in the city of Abydos, Luxor. Researchers believe the tomb complex dates back to the 25th dynasty (760 - 656 BC) or 26th dynasty (672 - 525 BC), based on a comparison to similar tombs that contain Osirian elements.

The complex consists of a large hall supported by five pillars. RTVE describes the structure as having a staircase from the north wall of the main room, leading down to the funerary complex, where there is a carving of Osiris, god of the dead, in the middle of a central vaulted temple.

To the west of the central temple is a funerary room with the reliefs of demons holding knives. The leader of the Spanish-Italian team that uncovered the tomb, Dr. María Milagros Álvarez Sosa, told EFE that the demons are there to protect the body of the deceased.

Opposite the statue of Osiris is a staircase with a 29.5 foot (9 meter) shaft leading to another chamber. Inside this chamber is a second shaft that descends 19.6 feet (6 meters) into two more rooms, which are currently full of debris.

“The symbolism of Osiris is very evident here, since all the elements recalling the mythical Osiris tomb are present,” writes Luxor Times Magazine, “a big staircase of 3.5 meter long with a 4 meter high ceiling at the bottom leading to the Netherworld and another one leading directly to the Osiris statue, which is therefore at a higher level and ideally isolated on ‘his island’; the Osiris statue itself; the empty corridor surrounding it which symbolizes the channel of water (see Osireion in Abydos); the expected burial chamber below the statue, thus identifying the deceased with Osiris.”

Sketch showing the outline of the tomb of Osiris. Drawing of the tomb's architecture made by Raffaella Carrera, MinProject (Archaeological Mission Canaria-Toscana).

Part of the tomb was initially discovered by archaeologist Philippe Virey in the 1880s and some attempts were made to sketch out the main structure in the 20th century. However, it was not until recently that the full extent of the structure was discovered through excavations. The funerary complex will continue to be explored and the chambers cleared of debris in the Autumn of this year.

Alvarez Sosa told EFE that the tomb is of "great importance" because “the burial chambers contain dead who slept their eternal sleep under the god of the dead, Osiris".

According to Egyptian mythology, Osiris, god of the underworld, was killed by Set, god of storms, disorder and violence, who shut Osiris in a coffin and threw it in the Nile river. After his body was recovered by Isis, Set tore his body into pieces and threw them back into the river. Isis collected all the pieces and bandaged the body together. This form of Osiris traveled to the underworld in a boat and became god of the dead.

The only body part Isis could not locate was the phallus, as it had been eaten by catfish. Isis created a golden phallus and briefly brought Osiris back to life with a spell, which gave her enough time to become pregnant by Osiris before he returned to death. Isis later gave birth to Horus, who became seen as a representation of new beginnings and the destroyer of the evil Set.

Russia's "Startling" Proposal To Europe: Dump The US, Join The Eurasian Economic Union

Submitted by Tyler Durden on 01/05/2015 06:02 -0500

Slowly but surely Europe is figuring out that as a result of the western economic and financial blockade of Russian, it is Europe itself that is suffering the most. And while Germany was first to acknowledge this late in 2014 when its economy swooned and is now on the verge of a recession, now others are catching on. Case in point: the former head of the European Commission, and Italy’s former Prime Minister, Romano Prodi who told Messaggero newspaper that the "weaker Russian economy is extremely unprofitable for Italy."

The other details from Prodi's statement:

Lowered prices in the international energy markets have positive aspects for the Italian consumers, who pay less for the fuel, but the effect will be only short-term. In the long-term however the weaker economic situation in countries producing energy resources, caused by lower oil and gas prices, mostly in Russia, is extremely unprofitable for Italy, he said.

“The lowering of the oil and gas prices in combination with the sanctions, pushed by the Ukrainian crisis, will drop the Russian GPD by five percent per annum, and thus it will cause cutting of the Italian export by about 50%,” Prodi said.

“Setting aside the uselessness or imminence of the sanctions, one should highlight a clear skew: regardless of the rouble rate against dollar, which is lower by almost a half, the American export to Russia is growing, while the export from Europe is shrinking.”

In other words, just as slowly, the world is starting to grasp the bottom line: it is not the financial exposure to Russia, or the threat of financial contagion should Russia suffer a major recession or worse: it is something far simpler that will lead to the biggest harm for Europe's countries. The lack of trade. Because while central banks can monetize everything, leading to an unprecedented asset bubble which if only for the time being boosts investor and consumer confidence, they can't print trade - that all important driver of growth in a globalized world long before central banks were set to monetize over $1 trillion in bonds each and every year to mask the fact that the world is deep in a global depression.

Which is why we read the following report written in yesterday's Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten with great interest because it goes right to the bottom line. In it Russia has a not so modest proposal to Europe: dump trade with the US, whose call for Russian "costs" has cost you another year of declining economic growth, and instead join the Eurasian Economic Union!

Russia has presented a startling proposal to overcome the tensions with the EU: The EU should renounce the free trade agreement with the United States TTIP and enter into a partnership with the newly established Eurasian Economic Union instead. A free trade zone with the neighbors would make more sense than a deal with the US.

It surely would, but then how will Europe feign outrage when the NSA is found to have spied yet again on its "closest trading partners?" Some more on Russia's proposal from EUobserver:

Vladimir Chizhov told EUobserver: “Our idea is to start official contacts between the EU and the EAEU as soon as possible. [German] chancellor Angela Merkel talked about this not long ago. The EU sanctions [on Russia] are not a hindrance”.

“I think that common sense advises us to explore the possibility of establishing a common economic space in the Eurasian region, including the focus countries of the Eastern Partnership [an EU policy on closer ties with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine]".

"We might think of a free trade zone encompassing all of the interested parties in Eurasia”.

He described the new Russia-led bloc as a better partner for the EU than the US, with a dig at health standards in the US food industry.

“Do you believe it is wise to spend so much political energy on a free trade zone with the USA while you have more natural partners at your side, closer to home? We don’t even chlorinate our chickens”, the ambassador said.

The treaty establishing the Eurasian Union entered into life on Thursday (1 January).

It includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia, with Kyrgyzstan to join in May.

Modelled on the EU, it has a Moscow-based executive body, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and a political body, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, where member states’ leaders take decisions by unanimity.

It has free movement of workers and a single market for construction, retail, and tourism. Over the next 10 years, it aims to create a court in Minsk, a financial regulator in Astana and, possibly, to open Eurasian Economic Commission offices in Astana, Bishkek, Minsk, and Yerevan.

It also aims to launch free movement of capital, goods, and services, and to extend its single market to 40 other sectors, with pharmaceuticals next in line in 2016.

And as a reminder: The Eurasian Economic Union, a trade bloc of former Soviet states, expanded to four nations Friday when Armenia formally joined, a day after the union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan began.

So the ball is in your court, Europe: will it be a triple-dip (and soon thereafter quadruple: see Japan) recession as your Goldman-controlled central bank plunders ever more of what little is left of middle-class wealth with promises that this year - for real - is when it all turns around, or will Europe acknowledge it has had enough and shifts its strategic, and trade, focus from west (speaking of the TTIP, Germany's agriculture minister just said "We can't protect every sausage" referring to the TTIP) to east?

Considering just whose interests are represented by the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels, we won't be holding our breath.

Wobbles in US-EU axis against Russia

FINIAN CUNNINGHAM JANUARY 7, 2015 3

The latest wobble in the Washington-Brussels axis against Russia, as expressed this week by Francois Hollande, has to be seen as good news. In that, at last, finally, official Europe is coming to its senses about the dangerous course the US is driving.

by Finian Cunningham

Brussels-Washington Axis wobbles

French President Francois Hollande this week called for an end to Western sanctions on Russia. He is the latest senior European political figure to express misgivings about the hostile policy that Washington and Brussels have embarked on against Russia over the year-old Ukrainian crisis.

Hollande was speaking during a traditional New Year interview with French media covering a range of issues, both domestic and international. Referring to upcoming political negotiations in Kazakhstan aimed at finding an end to the Ukraine conflict, Hollande said that he was in favor of lifting sanctions imposed on Russia “if progress was made” at the talks.

Russia sanctions ‘must be lifted now’ – Hollande

Senior French, German and Russian officials are to meet in the Kazakh capital Astana on January 15, along with representatives from Ukraine.

The aim is to find a lasting solution to the violence that has been raging in eastern Ukraine since last April. That conflict has taken nearly 5,000 lives and threatens to escalate, despite a shaky ceasefire put in place last month.

As a preliminary to the Astana summit, officials from the above countries were meeting in Berlin this week to sketch out a possible agreement. Significantly, American officials are not involved, even though Washington is closely aligned with the regime in Kiev that seized power illegally last February, and which has launched a military offensive on the eastern Donbas Russian-speaking population, who refuse to recognize the legitimacy of the coup.

Washington and Brussels have sought to blame Russia for the crisis, claiming that Moscow is fueling separatist fighters in Donbas to undermine the Western-backed Kiev regime. Russia has repeatedly denied any such involvement. Moscow has pointed to the dearth of evidence for Western claims. It says the crisis stems from the illegal intervention in the internal affairs of Ukraine by the Western states, and that the ethnic Russian populations of Crimea and the eastern regions have simply responded, out of their own volition, with dissent towards the neo-Nazi anti-Russian regime that seized power in Kiev.

The Washington-Brussels axis has slapped economic and diplomatic sanctions on Russia, which have been met by counter-sanctions from Moscow. The deterioration in relations is not only having economic impacts on Russia, it is rebounding to cast a pall over Europe’s own faltering economy. Trade and commerce between Russia and the European Union are tenfold than between Russia and the US, so in the unfolding economic war the EU has much more to lose than Washington.

This partly explains why EU leaders are increasingly showing trepidation over the widening impasse.

“France seeks end to Russia sanctions over Ukraine,” reported the BBC this week on Hollande’s public call for restraint. The French leader is the latest high-profile EU figure expressing serious doubts about the Washington-Brussels aggressive policy towards Russia.

As the BBC report added: “Politicians in Italy, Hungary and Slovakia are among those who want the sanctions eased.”

To that list we could append Germany, Austria, Spain, Greece, Czech Republic and Bulgaria, among others.

Last weekend, Czech President Milos Zeman deplored the warmongering attitude of the Kiev regime, denouncing the CIA-installed Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk as “the prime minister of war.”

The day before Hollande made his comments, Germany’s Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel warned against sanctions bringing Russia “to its knees” and risking “a conflagration.”

Germany’s second highest politician, and deputy to Chancellor Angela Merkel, is thus giving notice of significant opposition to the Washington-Brussels axis and its anti-Russian policy, which his boss, Merkel, has been up to now an ardent supporter of.

Gabriel told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper that the Washington-led policy is ruinous. “The goal was never to push Russia politically and economically into chaos,” said Gabriel, a member of the Social Democrat party, which historically prefers cordial relations with Russia.

In a hint at malign external forces thriving on conflict between Europe and Russia, Gabriel noted:

Whoever wants that [Russia’s political and economic chaos] will provoke a much more dangerous situation for all of us in Europe.”

At the end of last month, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, a fellow Social Democrat member, also voiced disquiet over the Washington-Brussels axis that Merkel has dutifully followed.

It cannot be in our interests that this runs out of control. We need to keep this in mind in our sanctions policy,” said Germany’s top diplomat, as reported in Deutsche Welle on December 19.

Hollande’s latest high-profile call for a reversal in policy towards Russia is not based on vague altruism. France, like Germany, is feeling the brunt of the sanctions war.

French unemployment hit a record high at the end of the year, reaching near 3.5 million or 10.5 per cent of the workforce. Bad news on the parlous state of the French economy keeps on piling up, and Hollande’s personal rating among increasingly angry French voters keeps on plumbing new depths.

European citizens know that the crisis over Ukraine and between Europe and Russia is wholly unnecessary. They know that the tensions have been whipped up by Washington for its own selfish strategic interests of driving a wedge into the continent. Up to now, EU leaders have stupidly gone along with this reckless policy even though it is rebounding in further economic hardship for EU citizens and risking an all-out war.

The latest wobble in the Washington-Brussels axis against Russia, as expressed this week by Francois Hollande, has to be seen as good news. In that, at last, finally, official Europe is coming to its senses about the dangerous course the US is driving.

A political theme that has gained momentum over the past year is the “democratic deficit” across the EU that is alienating millions of its citizens. What more disturbing democratic deficit can you get than Brussels slavishly following Washington’s warmongering policy against Russia – in total detriment to the interests of EU citizens over crucial matters of their livelihoods and ultimately over the risk of an all-out war in Europe.

British mis-leader David Cameron is too much of an American puppet to ever come to his senses. But with France’s Hollande now beginning to show some long overdue common sense towards Russia, there may be grounds to believe that European governments are waking up to the recklessness of the Washington-Brussels axis against Russia – and ditching it.

Situation in Ukraine ‘nearing humanitarian catastrophe’ – Amnesty Intl

Published time: January 09, 2015 02:35

Eastern Ukraine is nearing a humanitarian catastrophe, as residents struggle to get food and medicine, rights group Amnesty International told Reuters. The UN refugee watchdog added that the elderly in the region could be severely hit by Kiev’s policies.

People in the southeastern Lugansk and Donetsk regions are struggling financially and are barely scraping by, according to the deputy director of Europe and Central Asia at Amnesty International, Denis Krivosheev.

“While it may be too early to call this a humanitarian catastrophe, it’s clearly progressing in that direction,” Krivosheev said, adding that pensioners are the most vulnerable part of the population.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) also expressed major concern for the elderly, pointing to Kiev’s dangerous decision to transfer payouts of social benefits and pensions to government-controlled areas.

UNHCR spokesman William Spindler said that not everyone is able to pick up and leave their homes in southeastern Ukraine. So, the most vulnerable are neglected as they fail to receive needed financial support.

According to UN figures, around 5.2 million people in Ukraine are living in conflict zones. Of that number, 1.4 million are in very vulnerable conditions and require assistance as they struggle with the cold winter, money problems, and lack of services.

Moreover, Krivosheev stressed that aid sent to southeastern Ukraine from Russia and other countries – such as food and medicine – is often stifled by pro-Kiev private armies that are preventing it from reaching those in need, with the goal of starving the population there.

“Attempting to create unbearable conditions of life is a whole new ballgame...using starvation of civilians as a method of warfare is a war crime,” Krivosheev said.

He described the private armies as “renegade gangs” which need to be handled.

Some of the latest data from Ukraine points to a massive movement of people, with over one million forced to leave their homes.

Figures from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) show that 610,000 people have been uprooted in Ukraine and 594,000 have been forced to leave the country as refugees.

The fighting in Ukraine began in April, after the southeastern Donetsk and Lugansk regions refused to recognize the coup-imposed authorities in Kiev, which formed a Western-backed interim government at the time. The death toll has exceeded 4,700 people, with over 10,300 wounded, according to the latest UN estimations.

The situation on the ground then worsened, with non-stop bombing taking place in the southeastern regions, including residential areas. On top of that, things were exacerbated by Kiev’s tactics to periodically turn off water and electricity supplies to the areas not controlled by the government.

Various non-governmental groups have tried to garner attention around the worsening humanitarian situation in Ukraine.

The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) estimates that over 1.7 million children have been affected by the crisis in Ukraine, with at least 130,000 displaced.

Moreover, up to 150 schools have been shut down due to fighting in the Donetsk region. Around 50,000 children did not return to school in September, as their places of learning were completely destroyed or shut down for safety reasons, UNICEF said in its report.

A total of US$32.4 million is needed to help children survive through the winter, the report concludes. The most needed items are warm clothes, shelter, hygiene supplies, and medicine.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) has been warning about the critical healthcare situation in southeastern Ukraine. It revealed in its latest report that due to a lack of doctors, medicine, and food, some patients are dying from hunger and cold.

The Russian Red Cross warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in eastern Ukraine back in July, calling for the immediate evacuation of children from the war zone.

One of the biggest obstacles to improving conditions is the politicization of aid convoys, UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos told RT, recalling a situation with a Russian aid convoy last summer.

Since then, aid convoys have been sent by Russia, Kiev, and Germany, carrying supplies such as cereals, canned foods, generators, medicine, warm clothes, and bottled water.

Trucks of Russian humanitarian convoy are parked in a field outside the town of K

Kiev lacks the funds to deal with the dire humanitarian situation on the ground, especially in light of the latest news that Ukraine’s GDP shrank by 7.5 percent between January and November 2014.

“There is a full-blown financial crisis,” said the head of Ukraine’s National Bank, Valeriya Gontareva. “We can only overcome it if we implement quick and even extreme reforms.”

Meanwhile, a new nationwide poll has revealed that the majority of Ukrainians might even be unwilling to help the refugees, highlighting tensions in the country.

Specifically, 54 percent of respondents said they would deny help to refugees, believing it to be the country’s responsibility and not their own.

Only 16.8 percent of the respondents said they think the conflict should be solved through peaceful talks.

It’s back: Large Hadron Collider finishes upgrades, gears up for ambitious 2015

By Dan Taylor , The Space Reporter | January 01, 2015

The new LHC will be bigger and better in 2015, with nearly twice the power as it had from 2010 to 2013, its first run since becoming fully operational.

The massive Large Hadron Collider will be back in action in 2015, seeking to uncover the mysteries of the universe and how it formed.

Fresh off of two years of upgrades after officially discovering the elusive Higgs boson — colloquially referred to as the “God particle” — the European Organization for Nuclear Research’s (CERN’s) Large Hardron Collider is ready to get back in action, according to Live Science.

The LHC is the world’s most powerful atom smasher, stretching 16 miles in circumference. It is buried underground near Geneva, Switzerland and uses 9,600 magnets to accelerate particles to close to the speed of light. The LHC’s biggest magnet weighs 35 tons and is about 50 feet long, generating a magnetic field that is 100,000 times more powerful than Earth’s.

The fact that the magnets need cooling also makes the LHC the largest refrigerator in the world in order to keep them at temperatures of -271.3 degrees Celsius.

It was in 2012 that the LHC helped scientists discover the Higgs boson, which is responsible for helping particles such as protons and electrons to have mass.

The new LHC will be bigger and better in 2015, with nearly twice the power as it had from 2010 to 2013, its first run since becoming fully operational. It will hope to build on an already wildly successful first go.

By doubling the energy, scientists can produce heavier particles. It could help researchers find out what particles make up dark matter, which makes up about 86 percent of the mass in the known universe yet cannot be observed directly because it interacts only with gravitational fields, not light.

With more energy, the LHC can increase the range of masses of dark matter particles that scientists can potentially examine.

Physicists believe dark matter consists of new kinds of particles that interact weakly with the regular matter we can observe with the naked eye. The Standard Model of particle physics can’t explain dark matter, so scientists want to study it to come to a new understanding of physics that goes beyond that model.

The LHC doesn’t allow researchers to directly observe dark matter, but it gives them the best view possible of what is happening in the dark matter world. By smashing protons together, they can observe the energy it produces, and any energy that is missing from the aftermath could provide clues on how dark matter particles are created.

Another issue the LHC may explore is the existence of more kinds of Higgs bosons. Just because one kind of Higgs boson has been found doesn’t mean there aren’t others, said one scientists in the report, and these other Higgs bosons could have different masses and charges. How these bosons interact with other particles could provide greater insight into dark matter.

CZECH PRESIDENT: “ONLY POORLY INFORMED PEOPLE” DON’T KNOW ABOUT UKRAINE COUP

A coup followed by an ethnic cleansing is nazi, not at all democratic

Image Credits: Miloslav Hamřík, Wikimedia Commons

by ERIC ZUESSE | INFOWARS.COM | JANUARY 5, 2015

The Czech Republic’s President Milos Zeman said, in an interview, in the January 3rd edition of Prague’s daily newspaper Pravo, that Czechs who think of the overthrow of Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych, on 22 February 2014, as having been like Czechoslovakia’s authentically democratic “Velvet Revolution” are seeing it in a profoundly false light, because, (as Russian Television translated his statement into English) “Maidan was not a democratic revolution.” He said that this is the reason why Ukraine now is in a condition of “civil war,” in which the residents of the Donbass region in Ukraine’s southeast have broken away from the Ukrainian Government.

He furthermore said that, “Judging by some of the statements of Prime Minister Yatsenyuk, I think that he is rather a prime minister of war because he does not want a peaceful solution, as recommended by the European Union (EU), but instead prefers to use force.”

He added, by way of contrast to Yatsenyuk, the possibility that Ukraine’s President, Petro Poroshenko “might be a man of peace.” So: though Zeman held out no such hope regarding Yatsenyuk (who was Obama’s choice to lead Ukraine), he did for Poroshenko (who wasn’t Obama’s choice, but who became Ukraine’s President despite Obama’s having wanted Yatsenyuk’s sponsor, the hyper-aggressive Yulia Tymoshenko, to win the May 25thPresidential election, which was held only in Ukraine’s pro-coup northwest, but claimed to possess authority over the entire country).

What this statement from Zeman indicates is that the European Union is trying to deal with Poroshenko, as the “good cop” in a “good cop, bad cop” routine, with Yatsenyuk playing the bad cop; and, so, the EU’s policies regarding Ukraine will depend upon what comes forth from Poroshenko, not at all upon what comes from the more clearly pro-war, anti-peace, Yatsenyuk.

Furthermore, Zeman’s now publicly asserting that the overthrow of Yanukovych was a coup instead of having merely expressed the democratic intentions of most of the Maidan demonstrators, constitutes a sharp break away from U.S. President Barack Obama, who was behind that Ukrainian coup and who endorses its current leaders.

Zeman isn’t yet going as far as Hungary’s President Viktor Orban did in his siding with Russia’s President Putin against America’s President Obama, but Zeman is indicating that, unless Obama will get Poroshenko to separate himself more clearly from Yatsenyuk (whom the U.S. State Department’s Victoria Nuland in the coup just 18 days later, and so there can be nactually selected onFebruary 4th to become Ukraine’s Prime Ministero reasonable question that he is an Obama stooge), Czech policy regarding Ukraine will separate away from Obama’s war against Putin, and will join instead with Putin’s defense against Obama’s Ukrainian assault.

Zeman is thus now in very much the same position that Orban had been prior to Orban’s clear decision recently to side with Putin: each is a head-of-state of a former Soviet satellite nation, which had waged a democratic revolution (in 1956 in Hungary, and in 1968 in Czechoslovakia) against the Soviet communist tyranny. He is saying to his own countrymen, that the tyrant now is the United States, under its President Barack Obama, and is not Russia, under its President Vladimir Putin. That’s a seismic shift, away from the U.S., because of the Ukrainian coup.

Zeman was careful in his selection of which Czech news-medium would hold this interview with him. As wikipedia has noted, Pravo “is the only Czech national daily that is not owned by a foreign company.” The message that this fact sends to Czechs is that Zeman wanted to make clear that foreign influences, and any currying of favor with aristocrats (who own the ‘news’ media) in foreign countries, will not dictate his policies; only the Czech Republic’s own democratic values, and the behavior of Poroshenko, will. Zeman is indirectly telling Obama: Back off from me — you’re trying to get too close, and I won’t tolerate this. When Victoria Nuland said “F—k the EU,” she expressed Obama’s view, and all of them recognized the fact; some, like Orban and Zeman, don’t like to be treated this way; others, such as Germany’s Angela Merkel, seem not to mind.

It’s also interesting that the first two EU nations to indicate that they might leave the EU for an alliance with Russia are both former Soviet satellite countries that revolted against the Soviet dictatorship; both are Eastern European, not Western European. Perhaps these leaders are more loathe to be controlled by tyrants than are the ones for whom the very idea of being subordinate to a tyrant is just a mere abstraction. (Merkel, however, seems simply to love whatever is conservative, even if it might happen to be nazi, as in Ukraine.)

In any case, Ukraine’s coup has already produced one earthquake of historical magnitude, in Hungary, with Orban, and might soon do the same in the Czech Republic, with Zeman (which will depend upon Poroshenko reducing his war against Ukraine’s former east — which, in turn, will depend upon what instructions Obama provides to Poroshenko).

The European Union could actually be in the process of breaking up; and not only because of the Ukrainian civil war, but also because Obama’s forcing each and every one of the EU nations to choose up sides in Obama’s Ukrainian war against Putin will have very different economic effects upon the various individual EU member-nations, some of which will lose far more business with Russia, from adhering to Obama’s sanctions against Russia, than will others that go along with those sanctions.

U.S. President Obama is thus now pressing his pedal to the metal in order to achieve maximum destructive force against Russia, regardless of how many or what nations will follow him — perhaps even over the cliff, into a nuclear war. Obama is, in effect, now saying to each and every European head-of-state: Either you’re with us, or you’re against us. He’s George W. Bush II, only with regard to Russia, instead of to Iraq.

It’s “choosing up sides” time, yet again; and, this time, Obama and Putin are both waiting, no doubt each somewhat nervously, to see what his team will consist of, and what the opposing team will turn out to be.

However, there can be no reasonable doubt that Obama was the aggressor here. A coup followed by an ethnic cleansing is nazi, not at all democratic. That’s not opinion; it’s fact; and so it warrants to be noted in a news report, even though (if not especially because) others don’t report this fact, so that it’s still news, for long after it should have been reported as being “news.” Unfortunately, it remains as news, even today.

Leftist win in Greece to trigger change in Europe: Official

Alexis Tsipras, the leader of Greece’s leftist party Syriza

The head of Greece’s left-wing Syriza party says his party's victory in the coming parliamentary elections will prompt the "necessary change" in Europe, stressing that he will end austerity policies.

"Necessary change in Europe begins here, in Greece," Alexis Tsipras said in a speech in the Greek capital, Athens, on Saturday.

Tsipras also referred to Spain, where the leftist Podemos party has led in opinion polls ahead of forthcoming elections, and Ireland as countries that could follow Greece to change the current European Union economic policies.

Tsipras, whose party is ahead in polls before the January 25 vote, stated that he wants to make Greece a "positive example of progressivism in Europe."

"With vigorous negotiations, we guarantee our country's truly equitable participation in the eurozone," he noted, adding, "We must finish with austerity."

Syriza has pledged to reverse many reforms, including cutting taxes and increasing state aid and public services, imposed by the so-called "troika" of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Commission (EC) and the European Central Bank.

Greece has been relying on international rescue loans since 2010. It has received 240 billion euros (USD 330 billion) in international loans. In exchange, Athens has implemented harsh austerity measures.

Greeks have lost about a third of their disposable income since the debt crisis erupted in 2009. The unemployment rate has also soared, leaving about one in four without a job.

Sanskrit shocker! Claims of 7,000yo inter-planetary planes shake up Indian Science Congress

Published time: January 05, 2015 14:44

Edited time: January 05, 2015 18:20

Ancient knives so sharp they could slit a hair in two, 24-carat gold extracted from cow dung and even 7,000-year-old planes that could travel to other planets. Those are just a couple of the startling claims made at this week’s Indian Science Congress.

The surprising discoveries based on ancient Hindu texts, such as the Vedas and the Puranas, were presented at a session on “Ancient Indian Sciences through Sanskrit,” held for the first time in the history of the Indian Science Congress, which took place for the 102nd time in Mumbai on Sunday.

One of the more controversial lectures, presented by Captain Anand Bodas, a retired principal of a pilot training facility, was dedicated to ancient airplane technology. “There is a reference to ancient aviation in the Rigveda,” Bodas said.

“The basic structure was of 60 by 60 feet, and in some cases, over 200 feet. They were jumbo planes,” Bodas said. “The ancient planes had 40 small engines. Today's aviation does not know even of a flexible exhaust system.”

The ancient aircraft could not only move in any direction, but travel between planets, Captain Bodas claimed.

The more than 3,000-year-old manuscript also described ancient pilots’ diet and clothes. According to Bodas, during specific periods pilots drank the milk of buffalo, cow and sheep, and they wore clothes made from vegetation grown underwater.

“Now we have to import aeroplane alloys. The young generation should study the alloys mentioned in his book [Vimana Samhita by Maharishi Bharadwaj] and make them here,” Bodas said.

Bodas’s bodacious claims infuriated other participants in the congress, however.

NASA scientist Ram Prasad Gandhiraman started an online petition, demanding that the Indian Science Congress to cancel Bodas’s lecture, because it mixed mythology and science. "If we scientists remain passive, we are betraying not only the science, but also our children," said the petition, which was signed by over 1,000 people. Overall, in the last couple of weeks dozens of scientists slammed the idea to give a platform to “pseudoscience.”

However, the organizers of the congress, which unites over 30,000 Indian scientists, believed they were reviving the “vast knowledge of science” contained in the Indian holy texts.

At last Saturday’s ceremony at the beginning of the conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the nation’s scientists to “explore the mysteries of science.”

"We in India are the inheritors of a thriving tradition of Indian science and technology since ancient times' mathematics and medicine, metallurgy and mining, calculus and textiles, architecture and astronomy,” said Modi, who is a Hindu nationalist. “The contribution of Indian civilization to human knowledge and advancement has been rich and varied.”

Union minister for environment, Prakash Javadekar, stressed the possibility to find application of ancient Indian concepts of technology in the modern world. "Scientists of ancient India, who lacked sophisticated tools or machines, developed accurate scientific concepts based on minute observations and logic," he said, The Hindustan Times reported.

Among other technologies, introduced at the congress there were polymers to build houses, made of cactus juice, egg shells and cow dung; a cow bacteria that turns anything eaten by an animal into pure gold, and the curious procedure of an autopsy, conducted by leaving a dead body floating in water for three days.

NEW STUDY FINDS GMO SOY TOXIC TO KIDNEYS, LIVER AND REPRODUCTION

Rats given GM soy found to have deadly amounts of toxicity in kidneys, liver, testes, sperm, blood and even DNA

by CHRISTINA SARICH

JANUARY 2, 2015

In North America, approximately 75 to 89% of the soy beans grown are genetically modified (GM). One may not realize it, but this is concerning news – especially because recent research found that GM soy is toxic to the kidneys, liver, and more.

There isn’t just one smoking gun anymore pointing at GMO toxicology. There is now an entire arsenal of scientific research proving that genetically modified organisms adversely affect the body. In yet another new study conducted by Egyptian researchers, rats given GM soy were found to have deadly amounts of toxicity in their kidneys, liver, testes, sperm, blood and even DNA.

Is there any question anymore about the true poisons that are biotech’s squalid wares?

The histopathological assessments made by the researchers of the rat’s bodily tissues leave no room for mistakes or misjudgments. You can’t argue over the results as some GMO-supporters have tried to do with other studies (like Seralini’s). Seralini’s study is one of the most quoted papers on the Internet, yet Monsanto gave a lengthy refutation of its findings.

Seralini stands firm in his findings, with the support of thousands of other scientists around the world. Though you’d think that he was some sort of quack with the comments that biotech makes to try to discredit him. What does Monsanto do when studies like this one, keep mounting? The evidence comes out again and again against GMOs – then what? What happens when research finds GM soy to be linked to sterility and infant mortality?

Just some of the sordid highlights of GMO-fed rats from the study’s findings include:

  • DNA fragmentation increased significantly after the rats were fed GM soy, and the levels of toxicity increased at 30, 60 and 90 days.

  • Glyphosate tolerant enzymes were found in the blood, and as researchers pointed out, “There is a growing concern that introducing foreign genes into food plants may have an unexpected and negative impact on human health.”

  • The kidney’s bio-pathology increased. Blood creatinine and uric acid concentrations increased significantly in rats fed the GM diet for 30, 60, or 90 days.

Chromosomal aberrations were observed. There was a “highly significant” number of abnormal cells.

Almost every organ observed, along with the blood and DNA showed damage from the GM diet. The researchers stated:

The results of all the param-eters evaluated in our investigation were consistent and confirm that the GM diet fed to rats for 30, 60, or 90 days caused significant histopathological, biochemical, and cytogenetic changes in all examined tissues.”

No animals were tested for toxic affects after 90 days – but it didn’t take more than this to see an obvious correlation between the toxicity levels of the rats and their GM diet. The wheat-based control diet did not cause the same results.

So here’s the kicker — the largest U.S. producer of hybrid seeds for agriculture, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, created a genetically engineered soybean which was approved in 2010. Soy is also on the seven most commonly grown GM crops list.

Read: 4 Huge Reasons Why Soy Should be Avoided

Since that time, numerous food products have been processed and sold on grocery store shelves in the US contain GM soy.

Many people have soy allergies now, too, which are likely due to GM varieties. Symptoms often include:

  • Hives; itching; or itchy, scaly skin (eczema)

  • Swelling of lips, face, tongue and throat, or other body parts

  • Asthma or wheezing, runny nose, cold symptoms

  • Skin redness

  • A tingling mouth

  • Abdominal pains, nausea, and diarrhea

The Non-GMO Shopping Guide lists GM soy as one of the hidden ingredients that biotech has so sneakily infiltrated our food system with. Even many ‘health foods’ contain GM soy. Ironically, if you consume protein drinks and health food bars in an attempt to stay fit, you’re especially in danger of eating too much GM soy.

Soy protein isolate can be found in protein bars, meal replacement shakes, bottled fruit drinks, soups and sauces, meat analogs, baked goods, breakfast cereals, and some dietary supplements. Then there’s soy milk, tofu, and other more obvious culprits. Soy lecithin is another problem, and there’s even GM soy in baby formula! Companies that make Similac and Enfamil don’t seem to care.

This should come as no surprise to some – as biotech has even hidden GM in citric acid.

Other findings on GM soy from previous studies include these startling facts:

  • More than half the babies of mother rats fed GM soy died within three weeks.

  • Soy changes the testicle cells of rats fed a GM variety.

  • Cooked GM soy contains as much as 7-times the amount of a known soy allergen

  • Soy allergies skyrocketed by 50% in the UK, soon after GM soy was introduced

  • GM Soy made the third generation sterile in one Russian study.

  • GM proteins are continually produced inside our bodies once we eat GM products – including soy.

Millions of acres of crops are planted with GM soy every year. Let’s face it, GM soy is hard to avoid. Did Monsanto know about all these toxicity factors when they started selling GM Soy? It’s a moot point now. Monsanto frantically recalled GM canola seed in Canada once, but once its planted, is it too late?

For now, you should be vigilant about checking labels, making sure that our government upholds labeling laws, and boycott all companies who sell anything with GM Soy in it. You can also look for substitutes for soy sauce, tofu, miso soup, and other soy-obvious foods. Even committed vegans can choose non-GMO varieties of soy to protect their health.

Newly Renamed High Fructose Corn Syrup Contains Toxic Mercury

BY ANTHONY GUCCIARDI

POSTED ON JANUARY 5, 2015

There’s a lot of quite concerning and truly sneaky secrets behind the ingredient known as high-fructose corn syrup. Not only has the infamously-unhealthy additive gone through a ‘renaming’ process by corporations in an attempt to fool you into eating it, but it is also known to hold some tremendously toxic baggage.

Now branded as ‘fructose’ in processed foods thanks to the whole issue of the public absolutely avoiding high-fructose corn syrup like the plague, it’s important to look back at one landmark study that revealed the presence of ultra-toxic mercury within the ingredient.

Mercury is, as all of the experts admit, toxic in all of its forms. And as the study by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy found, nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products that listed HFCS as the first or second ingredient were found to contain it.

Even the co-author of the study, Dr. David Wallinga, warns:

Mercury is toxic in all its forms. Given how much high-fructose corn syrup is consumed by children, it could be a significant additional source of mercury never before considered. We are calling for immediate changes by industry and the [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] to help stop this avoidable mercury contamination of the food supply.”

So why are we eating it?

The reality is that since 2009, when this major study was released and syndicated throughout the Washington Post and others amid the daily news cycle, we have been knowingly consuming high-fructose corn syrup that is contaminated with mercury. Bad enough on its own, this combination now puts high-fructose corn syrup over the edge as one of the worst food offenders there is.

Until the FDA takes action, the ultimate answer is to avoid eating foods that have high-fructose corn syrup hiding in its ingredients list. Here’s a list of items that commonly contain high-fructose corn syrup (and remember its new name can classify it simply as ‘fructose’):

  • Soda

  • Juice

  • Chips and snack bags

  • Candy and candy bars

  • Breakfast bars

  • Baking ingredients and mixes

Meanwhile, numerous companies like Hershey’s have begun moving away from high-fructose corn syrup due to consumer demand.
