Forget Scientology, celebs are now falling for an even more sinister 'religion': Introducing the Satanic sex cult that's snaring stars such as Peaches Geldof

Founder Aleister Crowley dubbed 'the wickedest man in the world'

Crowley was born in 1875 and styled himself 'the Great Beast, 666'

Other stars linked to the cult include Jimmy Page and Jay-Z

- Taken at face value it was an innocent enough remark, encouraging friends to explore 'a belief system to apply to day-to-day life to attain peacefulness'.

But when Peaches Geldof chose to share her 'religious' convictions with her 148,000 followers on Twitter, it lifted the lid on a much more sinister world than first impressions would suggest.

The socialite, 24, is a devotee of Ordo Templi Orientis, known as OTO, and even has the initials tattooed on her left forearm.

Sinister: Peaches Geldof has an 'OTO' tattoo (left) which is an acronym for the creepy Ordo Templi Orientis

Given her tendency to flit between fads and fashions (at one point she was a Scientologist, more recently she has wandered into Judaism), this could be dismissed as another harmless flirtation.

But a closer look at OTO -- and Aleister Crowley, its founding 'prophet' -- gives the lie to that assumption.

Crowley, who was born into an upper-class British family in 1875, styled himself as 'the Great Beast 666'. He was an unabashed occultist who, prior to his death in 1947, revelled in his infamy as 'the wickedest man in the world'.

His form of worship involved sadomasochistic sex rituals with men and women, spells which he claimed could raise malevolent gods and the use of hard drugs, including opium, cocaine, heroin and mescaline.

Crowley's motto -- perpetuated by OTO -- was 'do what thou wilt'. And it is this individualistic approach that has led to a lasting fascination among artists and celebrities, of whom Peaches is the latest in a long line.

Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, for example, routinely took part in occult magical rituals and was so intrigued by Crowley he bought his former home, Boleskine House, on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland.

And there are now OTO lodges scattered around the country, practising the same ceremonial rituals and spreading the word of Crowley.

While membership is secret, Peaches is said to have been initiated into it, raising the prospect that many of her impressionable fans could try to do the same.

Indeed, when one of her Twitter followers asked how she could find out more about Thelema, another word for Crowley's teachings, Peaches directed her to read his books, which she described as 'super interesting'.

Other celebrities linked to OTO include the rapper Jay-Z, who has repeatedly purloined imagery and quotations from Crowley's work.

Whether wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with 'Do what thou wilt' or hiring Rihanna to hold aloft a flaming torch in his music videos (a reference to the Illuminati, an outlawed secret society whose name supposedly derives from Lucifer, or 'light bringer'), he has given the sect priceless publicity.

His clothing line, Rocawear, is shot through with OTO imagery such as the 'all seeing eye' in a triangle, the 'eye of Horus' (an ancient Egyptian symbol frequently referenced in occult texts) and the head of Baphomet (the horned, androgynous idol of Western occultism).

Some conspiracy theorists have seized on this as evidence that he is a member of a secret Masonic movement which they believe permeates the highest levels of business and government.

Others take a more pragmatic view: that it is commercial opportunism, cashing in on impressionable teens' attraction to the 'edginess' of occult symbolism.

Yet OTO is much more than a marketing opportunity for attention-seeking celebs. It is a living religion, with adherents still practising occult rituals set out by Crowley in his books.

This week I tracked down John Bonner, 62, the head of OTO in the UK, to his home in East Sussex. He told me: 'We are not a mass-appeal sort of organisation  -- in the UK we number in our hundreds. Worldwide it's thousands.

Malevolent: OTO was set up by Aleister Crowley, who revelled in the title of 'the wickedest man in the world'

Celebrities are not always a boon or a benefit. 'We are used to being misunderstood. Many stories about Crowley, like people saying he filed his teeth down into fangs, are nonsense.

'You could call us a sex cult in a way, because we recognise, accept and adore the whole process which goes towards making tangible the previously intangible.'

According to adherents of OTO it takes years of study before you can begin to understand what the religion is about -- much like the equally controversial Church of Scientology.

Bonner takes issue with the comparison, saying it is 'extremely expensive' to study Scientology, yet  OTO demands no financial contributions.

Given her own dabbling in heroin and casual sex, particularly during a rootless period when she lived in Los Angeles a few years ago, it is perhaps natural that the troubled offspring of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates should be attracted to such a liberal school of thought.

And if Peaches' own interest is so shallow, heaven knows what her impressionable -- and mostly very young -- fans will take from it.

A former FBI agent, Ted Gundersen, who investigated Satanic circles in LA, found that Crowley's teachings about 'raising demons to do one's bidding' suggested human sacrifice, preferably of 'an intelligent young boy'.

John Bonner is dismissive of any idea that he and his fellow believers would even begin to countenance such excesses, pointing out that his is the only religion that sends people a letter of congratulations when they decide to leave ('because they are exercising free will, which is what we're all about').

But he accepts many people may not be able to deal with Crowley's complex teachings.

'You're not supposed to just jump straight in to it. It takes time and study, but our rituals are not for public consumption. You need to join us and go through the initiation process before you can begin to understand.

'But according to our beliefs we can't turn anyone away. So if you are over 18, are passably sane and are free to attend initiations, then you have an undeniable right of membership.'

Peaches Geldof is playing with fire. One can only hope her fans treat this latest pose with the scorn it deserves. - -

Review of Steven Greer’s Sirius Documentary

04/24/2013

By Cris Putnam

The new Steven Greer disclosure project film Sirius is structured with an overarching conspiracy theory implicating the military industrial complex (MIC) in surreptitiously controlling the government, banking system and, drum roll please, maintaining a death grip on the truth about UFOs, ET and clean free energy technology. I think they are largely correct concerning the financial elite but the oil industry’s repression of clean energy need not infer anything about extraterrestrials but rather human greed and sinfulness. The movie paints Greer as a heroic martyr fighting the powers that be. Greer poignantly laments the, “misanthropic sociopaths are running the planet into the ground.”[1] Of course, the solution is access to the ET technology the misanthropes are hiding. While there is certainly some truth to the general conspiracy theory, it doesn’t necessarily support the ET beliefs the film promotes. In reality, the pantheistic monism Greer promotes is exactly what the world system wants. This is readily seen in the discredited gurus the film features.

David Wilcock a guru of “soul growth, ascension and the evolution of consciousness” who was one of the most well-known promoters of the 2012 ascension theory is prominently featured. Wilcock’s writings indicate that he began by having strange dreams and synchronicities when he was two years old which progressed to out of body experiences and ESP by the age of seven. He consumed volumes of Edgar Cayce, Eastern mysticism and new age literature. He not only teaches reincarnation theology, his spiritual ascension ideas have resulted in repeated failed date setting. First it was “Ascension 2000” which morphed to “Ascension 2012” and we’re still waiting for the new one. Interestingly he predicted alien disclosure by President Obama in 2009:

David also predicts that President Obama will attempt to reveal the existence of aliens and alien technologies this year. He says it’ll be a two-hour prime time special, in which a human-like off world entity will be introduced.[1A]

David’s prophetic track record is dismal and his scholarship isn’t much better. He teaches that the Japanese culture was taught to them by space aliens and then his associate Michael Cremo cites the Hindu texts as ancient astronaut literature dating back thousands of years. Much of this has been decisively refuted here. Then they trot out the UFOs in medieval art nonsense which has been authoritatively demonstrated to be well known symbols for the sun and moon.[2] Art historians chuckle at this but much of the public is still credulous.

The alien savior mythos about ET redeemers form above preventing a nuclear holocaust is advanced in several scenes. Much of the interview testimony is old recycled material seen in other UFO documentaries like the seminal Out of the Blue which is a much better film than Sirius by a long shot. They used an old clip by Gordon Creighton, the editor of Flying Saucer Review, but neglect to mention Creighton’s studied opinion, “I do believe that the great bulk of these phenomena are what is called satanic.”[2A]

Early on, the movie sets up the required dramatic tension concerning the testing of so-called tiny alien body found in the Mexican desert. This Barbie doll sized ET was heavily featured in the film’s promotional material and certainly drew a lot of folks to part with their cash in order to learn about the promised DNA testing results.

The most dangerous and potentially harmful aspect about the film is the promotion of CE-5 meaning human initiated alien contact. Greer extended the classification system of J Allen Hynek. This is explained in Exo-Vaticana:

1) Close Encounters of the First Kind (CEI) involve “visual” sightings of an Unidentified Flying Object.

2) Close Encounters of the Second Kind (CEII) include visual plus physical traces such as burned spots on the ground, radiation, strange markings, or wreckage debris appropriate for investigation.

3) Close Encounters of the Third Kind (CEIII) involve sightings of the UFO “occupants” near the UFO.

4) Close Encounters of the Fourth Kind (CEIV) include a human abducted by a UFO or its occupants (this was not included in Hynek’s original scale).

5) Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind (CEV), developed by Steven M. Greer’s Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI) group, are described as “joint, bilateral contact events produced through the conscious, voluntary, and proactive human-initiated or cooperative communication with extraterrestrial intelligence.”

6) Close Encounters of the Sixth Kind (CEVI) are described as “UFO incidents that cause direct injury or death.”[3]

CE-5 involves eastern style meditation which entails clearing one’s mind (suspending rational discernment), letting go of one’s spiritual defenses, and allowing the foreign discarnate consciousness free reign. Of course, this amounts to an invitation for demon possession. Unfortunately, Greer and his followers probably have the best of intentions but are being deceived. The devil is a master of disguise: “And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” (2 Co 11:14–15) The movie offers CE-5 as the solution to the world’s problems, a disturbing idea developed and explained in Exo-Vaticana.

More interesting to readers of Exo-Vaticana, the film features our old friend Roman Catholic demonologist, Monsignor Corrado Balducci in a few brief clips. Whereas the majority of evangelical scholars conclude that the contactee phenomenon is connected to the occult, Balducci asserted that so-called extraterrestrial encounters “are not demonic, they are not due to psychological impairment, and they are not a case of entity attachment.”[4] Balducci has never been refuted by the Vatican and he teaches that superior ETs are coming to evangelize us:

At 13:45 Balducci is shown saying “There will be others who are far superior besides us.” Balducci also asserted, “We don’t even have to waste a thought on the devil and his demons, who still kept their angelic nature, being fallen angels and therefore also purely spiritual beings, since they are limited in their activity by God and therefore not able to bring all their hatred to us.”[6] Given that Balducci was a theologian of the Vatican Curia, a long-time exorcist for the archdiocese of Rome, and a prelate of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples and the Society for the Propagation of the Faith this is important. If one were seeking a Catholic opinion on demonology, it would be hard to solicit a demonologist with more clout. He suggests that originating from the spirit realm precludes any material reality, but Scripture is replete with angels who are mistaken for men (Genesis 19:1; Acts 1:10), and the author of Hebrews warns, “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Hebrews 13:2), which hardly seems possible if they were simply immaterial spirits.

After building tension over the mini-me ET, the anticlimax occurs when Dr. Gary Nolan admits, “The DNA tells the story and we have the computational techniques that allows us to determine, in very short order, whether, in fact, this is human,” also stating, “I can say with absolute certainty that it is not a monkey. It is human — closer to human than chimpanzees.” In fact this human corpse is not new, it has been circulated in UFO circles for ten years, and has long been identified as a mummified human fetus by medical experts as documented here. The film’s promotional efforts featuring this human fetus were not only disingenuous they were macabre.

One marvels at why it has never occurred to Greer that if he is correct and CE-5 works, then why haven’t the benevolent ETs simply given him the clean energy technology? Seriously, he has been out in the desert channeling them for years. Why does the evil MIC have exclusive access to the clean energy. Why can’t Greer and the CSETI faithful just ask the ETs for it? The roaring silence to this question is suggestive. In the end, the movie confirms the eschatological thesis presented in Exo-Vaticana in stunningly precise language by encouraging the viewer to participate by “joining consciousness to unite with the beings that are prepared to communicate with us. In order to succeed in this endeavor called life we must come together as one.”[7] This is one situation where I take no joy in being correct, the push toward the Omega Point is on.

Economic Collapse - (Edited from longer article.)

America: #1 In Fear, Stress, Anger, Divorce, Obesity, Anti-Depressants, Etc.

Michael Snyder -

April 23, 2013

The United States is a deeply unhappy place.  We are a nation that is absolutely consumed by fear, stress, anger and depression.  It isn't just our economy that is falling apart - the very fabric of society is starting to come apart at the seams and it is because of what is happening to us on the inside.  The facts and statistics that I am going to share with you in this article are quite startling.  They are clear evidence that America is a nation that is an advanced state of decline.  We are overwhelmed by fear, stress and anxiety, and much of the time the ways that we choose to deal with those emotions lead to some very self-destructive behaviors.  Americans have experienced a standard of living far beyond the wildest dreams of most societies throughout human history, and yet we are an absolutely miserable people.  Why is this?  Why is America #1 in so many negative categories?  Why are we constantly looking for ways to escape the pain of our own lives?  Why are our families falling apart?  There is vast material wealth all around us.  So why can't we be happy?

Just look around you.  Are most of the people around you teeming with happiness and joy?  Sadly, the truth is that most Americans are terribly stressed out.  Yeah, many of them may be able to manage to come up with a smile when they greet you, but most of the time they are consumed by internal struggles that are eating away at them like cancer.

So why is this happening?  Is modern life structured in a way that is fundamentally unhealthy?

Below I have posted a short excerpt from a message that one of Charles Hugh Smith's readers named Kenneth Daigle recently sent to him.  I think that it does a good job of describing the incredible stress that many people contend with on a daily basis...

Think about how our culture is now structured for the average adult: STRESS,everywhere you look - commuting in horrible traffic, as you want to scream in frustration - money stress, to pay rent/house note, tuition, utilities, gas, insurances, vacations, cable bill, rising food costs, and on and on and on - stress from family problems, divorce, delinquency, drugs, crime, infidelity, keeping up with the Jones, etc.

People have too high an expectation of what they should have out of life, and get overly stressed over it all. How does all of this manifest itself? A prescription drug culture (Zoloft, Xanax, etc.) that tricks people into thinking a pill will knock back the stress, when these drugs, in my opinion, only make things worse.

I am hearing more and more that people just want to drop out from it all, as they are reaching a breaking point, and have decided less income and dependency on entitlements will reduce their stress, and is not so humiliating, so giving up working becomes more acceptable, to KEEP ONE'S SANITY.

I know I am correct, from the feedback I hear every day, and the financial media does not see this like I hear it every day. People don't want to admit that they are too weak to deal with stress, so the financial pundits are not aware of this critical factor because they don't talk to Joe Sixpack.

Most Americans live lives of "quiet desperation" that are punctuated by moments of great crisis.  We spend our prime years working for others (making them rich) in order to pay off debts that we have foolishly accumulated (thus making the banks even wealthier).  When most Americans reach the end of their lives, they look back and wonder what they actually accomplished.

James Altucher published an incredible article the other day entitled "Why Do People Hate Their Jobs?"  It did a great job of describing what life is like for the modern worker in America.  The following are a few of the reasons that he says people tend to hate their jobs...

-Jobs are modern-day slavery. We are paid just enough to live and not more. You are punished if you ask for more.

-We are often verbally abused on the job and we take it because we think it's normal that people would yell at us.

-The government gets up to 50% of your paycheck and then 10-20% of that goes to kill people on other parts of the planet, including our own children.

-From 7am to 7pm you are either A) going to work, B) at work, or C) coming back from work. Hence, the times when you can be most creative are garbage-compacted into your cubicle.

-When you are paranoid at a job, you are probably correct. THEY are, in fact, talking about you and backstabbing you right now.

-You realize that all the dollars you spent on degrees to get you a job that will make you happy were completely wasted. You were scammed but you can't let the next generation know how stupid you were so now you become part of perpetuating the scam.

-Your spouse is tired of hearing about your job after six months. And you couldn't care less about hers. Ten years later you wake up next to a total stranger. 40 years later you die next to one.

-When you were a kid you liked to draw, and read, and run, and laugh, and play, and imagine a magical world. You're never going to do any of that again.

-Over time everyone is getting fired and being replaced by younger, cheaper, more temporary, more robotic, versions of you. You see this but are afraid to do anything about it.

And of course when we get home from work there is even more stress.  In America today, we are witnessing a breakdown of the family unlike anything we have ever seen before.  The United States leads the world in divorce and in single person households.  We are having an increasingly difficult time relating to one another, and many of us drown our sorrows in our addictions.  We are addicted to pills, to alcohol, to food, to entertainment, to sex, to gambling, to shopping and to anything else that will make us feel good and forget about our problems for a while.

The following is a collection of facts and statistics that prove that America is being absolutely consumed by fear, stress, anger and depression...

-Suicide has now actually surpassed car accidents as the number one cause of "injury death" in the United States.

-More U.S. soldiers killed themselves than were killed in combat last year.

-As I mentioned in another article, Americans will spend more than 280 billion dollars on prescription drugs during 2013.

-Nearly one out of every four women in the United States are taking antidepressants.

-The percentage of women taking antidepressants in the U.S. is higher than in any other country in the world.

-In 2010, the average teen in the U.S. was taking 1.2 central nervous system drugs.  Those are the kinds of drugs which treat conditions such as ADHD and depression.

-Children in the United States are three times more likely to be prescribed antidepressants as children in Europe are.

-According to a recent article by David Kupelian, "one-third of the nation's employees suffer chronic debilitating stress, and more than half of all 'millennials' (18 to 33 year olds) experience a level of stress that keeps them awake at night, including large numbers diagnosed with depression or anxiety disorder."

-Tens of millions of Americans use alcohol and drugs to numb the pain that they are experiencing.  In the United States today, there are about 28 million Americans with a drinking problem and about22 million Americans use illegal drugs.

-More people have been diagnosed with mental disorders in America than anywhere else on earth.

-There are also tens of millions of Americans that try to deal with anxiety and stress by eating.  Of all the major industrialized nations, America is the most obese.  Mexico is #2.

-Back in 1962, only 13 percent of all Americans were obese.  Today, approximately 36 percent of all Americans are obese.

-Many people try to escape from the pain of reality by getting lost in entertainment.  Incredibly, the United States is tied with the UK for the highest average number of hours spent watching television each week.

-The United States has the highest divorce rate in the world by a good margin.

-The United States has the highest percentage of one person households on the entire planet.

-According to the Pew Research Center, only 51 percent of all American adults are currently married.  Back in 1960, 72 percent of all adults in the United States were married.

-At this point, approximately one out of every three children in America lives in a home without a father.

-For women under the age of 30 living in the United States today, more than half of all babies are being born out of wedlock.

-The United States has the highest child abuse death rate in the developed world.

-In the United States today, it is estimated that one out of every four girls is sexually abused before they become adults.

-The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the world by a very wide margin.

-The United States produces more pornography than any other nation in the world.

-If you can believe it, there are 20 million new STD infections in the United States every single year.

-The U.S. has the highest STD infection rate in the entire industrialized world.

-It is estimated that about one out of every six Americansbetween the ages of 14 and 49 have genital herpes.

-Sadly, one out of every four teen girls in the U.S. has at least one sexually transmitted disease.

-The United States leads the world in eating disorder deaths.

-Nobody in the world gets more plastic surgery done than Americans do.

-Americans spend more time sitting in traffic than anyone else in the world.

-America has the highest incarceration rate and the largest total prison population in the entire world by a very wide margin.

Fear is one of the primary things that motivates the American people, and that is a very powerful weapon that can be used against us.

("In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see." Deuteronomy 28:67)

Toddlers becoming so addicted to iPads they require therapy

Children as young as four are becoming so addicted to smartphones and iPads that they require psychological treatment.

A young schoolboy left his family with a £2000 credit card bill after using an app on his grandfather's iPad.

By Victoria Ward

21 Apr 2013

Experts have warned that parents who allow babies and toddlers to access tablet computers for several hours a day are in danger of causing "dangerous" long term effects.

The youngest known patient being treated in the UK is a four-year-old girl from the South East.

Her parents enrolled her for compulsive behaviour therapy after she became increasingly "distressed and inconsolable" when the iPad was taken away from her.

Her use of the device had escalated over the course of a year and she had become addicted to using it up for to four hours a day.

Dr Richard Graham, who launched the UK's first technology addiction programme three years ago, said he believed there were many more addicts of her age.

"The child's mother called me and described her symptoms," he said.

"She told me she had developed an obsession with the device and would ask for it constantly. She was using it three to four hours every day and showed increased agitation if it was removed."

Dr Graham said that young technology addicts experienced the same withdrawal symptoms as alcoholics or heroin addicts, when the devices were taken away.

He warned that the condition prevented young people from forming normal social relationships, leaving them drained by the constant interaction.

"Children have access to the internet almost from birth now," he told the Sunday Mirror.

"They see their parents playing on their mobile devices and they want to play too. It's difficult, because having a device can also be very useful in terms of having a reward, having a pacifier. But if you don't get the balance right it can be very dangerous.

"They can't cope and become addicted, reacting with tantrums and uncontrollable behaviour when they are taken away. Then as they grow older, the problem only gets worse. Even the most shy kids, when they hit their teens, suddenly want to become sociable and popular."

It is feared that products such as baby-proof iPad covers and iPotties, which feature built-in iPad stands, only fuel the problem.

Parents who have found themselves unable to wean their children off computer games and mobile phones are paying up to £16,000 for a 28-day "digital detox" programme designed by Dr Graham at the Capio Nightingale clinic in London.

Psychiatrists estimate that the number of people who have become digitally dependent has risen by 30 per cent over the past three years.

A survey last week revealed that more than half of parents allowed their babies to play with their phone or tablet device.

One in seven of more than 1,000 parents questioned by babies.co.uk website admitted that they let them use the gadgets for four or more hours a day.

James Macfarlane, managing director of the website, said: "Given that babies between 3-12 months are awake for only around 10 hours per day this is a huge proportion of their waking day.

"Although 81 per cent of our users felt that children today spend too much time on smart devices, it hasn't put most of them off using them to entertain their baby."

Bloomberg Says Interpretation of Constitution Will 'Have to Change' After Boston Bombing

By Jill Colvin 4/22

In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Monday the country's interpretation of the Constitution will "have to change" to allow for greater security to stave off future attacks.

"The people who are worried about privacy have a legitimate worry," Mr. Bloomberg said during a press conference in Midtown. "But we live in a complex word where you're going to have to have a level of security greater than you did back in the olden days, if you will. And our laws and our interpretation of the Constitution, I think, have to change."

Mr. Bloomberg, who has come under fire for the N.Y.P.D.'s monitoring of Muslim communities and other aggressive tactics, said the rest of the country needs to learn from the attacks.

"Look, we live in a very dangerous world. We know there are people who want to take away our freedoms. New Yorkers probably know that as much if not more than anybody else after the terrible tragedy of 9/11," he said.

"We have to understand that in the world going forward, we're going to have more cameras and that kind of stuff. That's good in some sense, but it's different from what we are used to," he said.

The mayor pointed to the gun debate and noted the courts have allowed for increasingly stringent regulations in response to ever-more powerful weapons.

"Clearly the  Supreme Court has recognized that you have to have different interpretations of the Second Amendment and what it applies to and reasonable gun laws ... Here we're going to to have to live with reasonable levels of security," he said, pointing to the use of magnetometers to catch weapons in city schools.

"It really says something bad about us that we have to do it. But our obligation first and foremost is to keep our kids safe in the schools; first and foremost, to keep you safe if you go to a sporting event; first and foremost is to keep you safe if you walk down the streets or go into our parks," he said. "We cannot let the terrorists put us in a situation where we can't do those things. And the ways to do that is to provide what we think is an appropriate level of protection."

Still, Mr. Bloomberg argued the attacks shouldn't be used as an excuse to persecute certain religions or groups.

"What we cant do is let the protection get in the way of us enjoying our freedoms," he said.  "You still want to let people practice their religion, no matter what that religion is. And I think one of the great dangers here is going and categorizing anybody from one religion as a terrorist. That's not true ... That would let the terrorists win. That's what they want us to do."

SWITZERLAND REVISES 1934 BANKING ACT TO ALLOW BAIL-IN DEPOSIT CONFISCATIONS!

APRIL 19, 2013 BY THE DOC

The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) has quietly joined the growing parade of western nations who have quietly re-written banking laws to allow depositor bail-ins upon the next banking crisis. - If Switzerland, the once ultimate safe haven for banking deposits across the world is preparing to confiscate depositors funds, there truly is no protection anywhere other than physical gold and silver in your own possession!

In the event that a bank is failing or where its capitalization is no longer adequate, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority ("FINMA") may take measures to improve such bank's financial viability rather than liquidating it. "Loss absorption" and "bail-in" are important instruments to support any such measures.

The Swiss document begins by advising that the FINMA now has legal authority to confiscate depositor funds, thanks to a revision of the Banking Act of 1934, completed in 2011, as well as the revision of the Bank Insolvency Ordinance completed Nov 1st 2012:

In the event that a bank is failing or where its capitalization is no longer adequate, the Swiss Financial Market - Supervisory Authority ("FINMA") may take measures to improve such bank's financial viability rather than - liquidating it. "Loss absorption" and "bail-in" are important instruments to support any such measures. This - is now possible as a result of a revision of the Banking Act of 8 November 1934 (the "Banking Act") in 2011 and - the taking effect of a revised Bank Insolvency Ordinance on 1 November 2012 (the "Bank Insolvency Ordinance") - and of a revised Capital Adequacy Ordinance on 1 January 2013 (the "Capital Adequacy Ordinance").

The document states that The Banking Act now grants discretion to FINMA regarding depositor bail-in measures:

RELEVANT PROCEEDINGS -

Under the Banking Act, if there are concerns that a bank is - over-indebted or if a bank does not meet liquidity or regulatory - capital requirements, the FINMA may as appropriate: - (i) take protective measures; (ii) initiate bank reorganization - proceedings; or (iii) order the liquidation of the bank - (bankruptcy). The Banking Act grants significant discretion - to FINMA in this context. This includes, inter alia, ordering - a bank moratorium, a maturity postponement or "bail-in" - measures.

- And in the scope of bail-in measures, states that bail-ins are to be a measure of last resort (translation: we'll make this sound unlikely until the banks lose their first franc):

BAIL-IN MEASURES -

4.1 Scope -

The loss absorption measures described above relate to - capital instruments issued by the bank. In addition, the - revised procedural rules as specified in the secondary legislation - to the Banking Act applicable in a bank reorganization - context (i.e. if FINMA believes that the bank may be successfully - reorganized or if at least part of the business of the failing - bank may be continued), as enacted by FINMA, provide - for the competence of FINMA to convert or write-off other - debt (even in the absence of any contractual provision to that - effect in the arrangement governing such debt) if and to the - extent necessary to allow the bank to meet its regulatory - capital requirements after completion of the reorganization - ("bail-in").

Such bail-in is designed to be available as a - measure of "last resort" to be taken in the event that the - loss absorption under the capital instruments issued by the - bank is not sufficient to restore the required capitalization of - the failing bank and if the creditors are likely to be better off - than in an immediate insolvency of the bank.

The bail-in must be specified in the reorganization plan, - which must be approved by FINMA and - except for banks - of systemic importance - also by a majority of non-privileged - creditors (calculated on the basis of the claim - amounts). If such approval cannot be obtained, the bank - would be liquidated in bankruptcy proceedings. - In the event that FINMA only applies protective measures, - but does not consider any reorganization measures as necessary - or adequate, a bail-in could not occur as one of such - protective measures.

Still under the delusion that the DIESELBOOM Cyprus Template cannot happen here?

Sinclair - Swiss Bank Just Refused To Give My Friend His Gold

Eric King

Today legendary trader Jim Sinclair stunned King World News when he revealed that a dear friend of his who is very affluent just had a Swiss bank refuse to return his large hoard of gold when he asked for it out of an allocated account.  Below is what Sinclair, who was once called on by former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker to assist during a Wall Street crisis, had to say in this remarkable and candid interview.

Eric King:  "Maguire spoke on KWN yesterday about the fact that one of his clients went to the LBMA to get the metal from them and could not get it.  They told him he would be cash settled.  This is what you have been talking about is the failure of the physical markets."

Sinclair:  "A person that I know with significant deposits in one of the primary Swiss banks, in allocated gold, wanted to take out his gold and was just refused on the basis of directives from the central bank....

"They told him the amount was in excess of 200,000 Swiss francs and the central bank had instructed them not to do it because it has to do with anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering precautions.

I really wonder whether those are precautions or whether the gold simply isn't there.  Now you tell me that a London delivery has basically failed.  It has to raise our suspicions that the lack of physical gold behind the paper gold is literally so severe that we are coming to understand that it is in fact not there.

The gold that people think is stored is not stored, and the inventory of the warehouses for exchanges may not be holding deliverable gold.  There has always been speculation about whether or not the physical gold the US claims to store is in fact in those vaults.

The greatest train robbery in history might be all of the gold, and it would only be something like we have described above that would happen right before gold makes historic highs.

There simply is no gold behind the paper.  One example is AMRO, a second is your example with Maguire, and a third is my dear friend who was refused his gold on the basis that its value was too high.  Remember this friend of mine had his gold in an allocated account in storage at a major Swiss bank.  I repeat, there is no gold."

Eric King:  "Jim, when I listen to what you are saying, to what Maguire is saying, it really does tell me we are at the end game in terms of the paper market.  It's collapsing right now as you have been warning."

Sinclair:  "The vicious and blatant manipulation of the gold price (lower) via paper, on Friday and on Monday, may very well be the biggest mistake that the manipulators ever conceived of.  I firmly believe it revealed that the price of gold has nothing to do with gold itself.

But I would add that if in fact the physical demand remains at these levels or even increases as the price of gold rises, I believe that the warehouses for the exchanges will be so significantly drawn down that it will force cash settlement.

The bottom line here is the paper market for gold may have just lit itself on fire, and served to burn the manipulators' houses to the ground.  You've heard of the phrase, 'The emperor has no clothes.'  Well, this is infinitely worse because it is finally being revealed that the paper market for gold, in fact, has no gold."

Sinclair - Full-Blown Panic As People Ask "Where Is The Gold?"

April 24, 2013

Today legendary trader Jim Sinclair warned King World News about the full-blown panic that has erupted in both the financial world, and the gold market as well, as people ask, "Where is the gold?"  Below is what Sinclair, who was once called on by former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker to assist during a Wall Street crisis, had to say in this remarkable interview.

Sinclair: "People have to understand what the motivation was for the recent takedown in the gold price.  It was so well organized, strategized, and executed by the gold banks, in unison, even though it has had the unintended consequence of creating a massive and worldwide buying frenzy in the physical gold market.

There is a comparison that is obvious today because I was very involved in the $1 billion loan which had to be made at the time that the Hunt's positions went into default (in 1980).  This was at a time when Bache & Company, and Merrill Lynch were rumored to be at least on the fence, if not entirely insolvent.

You have to understand that back in 1980 when gold had risen to $887.50, and silver traded above $51 an ounce, the financial world was in a full-blown panic and many people firmly believed the dollar was going into oblivion.

It was during this time of panic, but after gold peaked, that I received a call from the Federal Reserve asking me to assist in the liquidation of the Hunt position as the criteria of making the $1 billion loan to bail out both Merrill Lynch and Bache.  This is the frightening reality of the kind of fires that were raging behind the scenes in the financial world at that time....

"The uniting factor between the events that took place then versus today is supply.  In both situations there was an increase in demand or an expected increase in demand for physical metal.  This is when the Board of Directors of the COMEX Exchange actually bought into the rumors that were swirling around the floor of the COMEX (in 1980).

You see it was widely assumed that the Hunts were about to ask for delivery of gold (and silver).  In truth,  because I know what the Hunt's position was, they never asked for delivery, but instead religiously rolled their paper contracts on first notice date.

So with the financial and currency markets on fire, and rumors swirling to and fro on the COMEX trading floor, the Board of the Directors of the COMEX Exchange basically changed the rules of the contract.  They also went to sellers only that were allowed to transact.

So the net effect of the Hunt situation, where there was an expected demand for physical which would have greatly challenged the existing warehouse supply, was to do all of the technical things required in order to bring the market down.  But it was done in such a vicious manner, that it was almost as if you had backed the gold and silver markets into an empty elevator shaft.

This was very similar to what we saw on the two-day paper selling binge that the gold market experienced on that now famous Friday and following Monday.  So the correlation between the Hunt situation and the present situation, both have to do with the key word, 'supply.'

Now what has recently happened is that the physical market has taken on a life of its own, and the warehouse supplies at the COMEX on gold have come down substantially.  There hasn't been anyone standing for full delivery or any headline-making demands, but if you take a look at the condition of the gold warehouse at the COMEX, you will see that it has declined substantially.

The expectation that this plunge in inventories might continue is enough to have the gold banks and central planners react in an almost similar manner to the COMEX Board of Directors when they had convinced themselves back in 1980 that the Hunts were about to ask for delivery.

I think the reality is the supply situation is extremely volatile at this point, and even discussing it is like rubbing a raw nerve to the people who are in charge.  The amount of discussion on the subject of warehouse supply, supply that is represented by the gold leases, indicated to the central planners that the demand for physical was going to continue to effect the exchanges.

Although they did not expect any grandstand delivery, the mere continued draining of physical inventories was threatening the very functioning of the paper exchange.  That threatening of the paper exchange and its ability to continue functioning is really taking off the blinders and revealing the truth behind the critical question, 'Where is the gold?'

The question now is, 'Where has the gold gone?'  Who has all of this gold?  Because of the nature of gold leasing, all of this gold has been purchased and it has gone somewhere.  The reality of the empty vaults reveal that the gold has gone missing.

Look at ABN AMRO Bank which decided to change the rules on its clients, against contract rules and against storage obligations, this certainly made a statement that the gold was gone or there was much less than would be required to deliver.

So I believe that what we have just seen is a replay of an exact market condition, except that this time it was executed by the central planners, whereas back in 1980 it was executed by the Board of Directors of the COMEX.

But rather than the recent takedown doing what they expected, which was to significantly reduce the demand for physical gold, especially among the developing nations and among the BRIC's, the demand for physical gold at a lower price has in fact multiplied.

People need to be reminded that when the market broke in 1980, from $887 down to $449, it then recovered in a straight line to $750.  It was If it wasn't for the fact that Volcker had taken the cost of overnight money into the 20s (percent), and that 10-Year money was at almost 15%, gold would have gone and made a new high based on the tremendous amount of fear that was present at the time.

I think we are in for a repeat of that type of massive rebound in gold, based on the fact that it's become obvious to anybody who understands the gold market that the paper market is a total fraud.  Key market participants also understand that the Western central bank gold has been leased out and it is gone.  It's not in the vaults where the West pretends it is.

This has created an atmosphere where individuals are now panicking in an attempt to get possession of their physical gold, but they are being met with strong resistance, or the contracts are simply being changed unilaterally just like we saw back in 1980 on the COMEX.

What is concerning to key players right now is the fact that this is occurring not just in unallocated accounts, but in many allocated accounts as well.  In other words, the pile of gold that is supposed to be there, in your name, isn't there.

So in the fullness of time the history books will show that once again the gold market went through a crisis brought on by the dwindling supply of available physical gold.  The striking difference between 1980 and today is that this time the physical really is gone.  This is the frightening reality of what the financial world is facing today, and I can assure you there will be hell to pay before this is over."
