The Biblical Edom Unearthed: Not a Myth, a Historical Reality

In Psalm 60, the Psalmist describes the totality of God’s victory over Israel’s foes, proclaiming “Moab is my wash basin; upon Edom I cast my sandal.”

This is only one of more than 100 mentions of Edom in the Old Testament. The Edomites were descendants from Esau, Jacob’s older brother. The Genesis account of the troubled twins describes Esau as red all over when he was born. Esau, you might remember, sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of red stew. Edom means “red” in Hebrew; thus, Esau’s descendants came to be known as Edomites.

Over the years, many scholars doubted the Edomites even existed, at least as described in those biblical accounts. Specifically, they regarded the depiction in the Pentateuch of the Edomite to be largely mythical. The real Edomite kingdom, they believed, emerged three or more centuries later, during the latter part of Israel’s divided monarchy, and was “read back” into the story of the Exodus.

Well, these scholars were mistaken. Recently, a team excavating in Israel’s Timna Valley found evidence of a “thriving and wealthy society” dating back to the 12^th century before Christ. What kind of evidence? An extensive network of ancient copper-smelting facilities were found in the parts of Israel and Jordan that the Bible associates with Edom.

As team leader Ezra Ben-Yosef told the Jerusalem Post, “copper-smelting was essentially the hi-tech of ancient times.” Given how complex the process is, any society responsible for such facilities would likely be technologically sophisticated and politically well-organized.

According to Ben-Yosef, “(these) new findings contradict the view of many archaeologists that [the region associated with biblical Edom] was populated by a loose alliance of tribes.” Instead, “they’re consistent with the biblical story that there was an Edomite kingdom here.”

Hmmm… there it is again: “consistent with the biblical story.” That phrase seems to pop up a lot in the world of ancient archaeology these days. For example, the excavations at Ashkelon that confirm the biblical account of the Philistines; findings on Mount Zion confirming the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem—not just that it happened, but also when it happened; and on and on.

You’d think the sheer number of findings in recent decades that are “consistent with the biblical story” would soften the systemic scholarly skepticism toward Bible. It should, but it hasn’t.

One reason some scholars remain stubbornly skeptical is that most archaeologists and social scientists see Judaism and Christianity in the same way they see every other religion–an approach that obscures important distinctions.

Unlike other religions, historical detail is central, even crucial, to biblical faith. The biblical story reports on events that took place in actual human history. Unlike other religions, the protagonist of the biblical story is a God who has acted in the human arena, not in a mythical past or in another universe, but in the same setting as you, I, and everyone else who has ever lived.

Since historical memory, and the actual acts of God within human history, is so central to biblical faith, we ought not be surprised when we find evidence of His activity in the ground.

At the same time, we should be ready to communicate the connections between history and faith when appropriate and when asked. It’s a wonderful way to communicate to our skeptical friends, family members, and co-workers what we believe and why we believe it.

Whistleblower: Google Partners with China on ‘AI Manhattan Project’

Former Google senior software developer and whistleblower Zach Vorhies appeared on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonightwith host Rebecca Mansour Friday to discuss Google’s relationship with Communist China and the company’s artificial intelligence project DeepMind, which has been called the “AI Manhattan Project.”

Mansour asked Vorhies about Google’s business engagements in China.

“Google has gotten in trouble in the past for doing business with the Communist government of China,” Mansour said. “And I wanted to ask you were those efforts ongoing when you were with the company? Can you give us any insight into that? Because it was quite troubling.”

“So Google bought this AI company called DeepMind,” Vorhies replied. “Let me just put it in plain language what that is, DeepMind was creating a god-like AI system that is able to ingest the available public information on the internet and make sense of it. Think of it like Amazon Alexa except much much much more intelligent. This AI system was moved out of the UK I believe and placed into China, and it’s been dubbed the AI Manhattan Project.”

Vorhies continued: “Peter Thiel — he accused Google of acting in a treasonous way. This is how serious this project is. It’s the most sophisticated and advanced AI project in the world made by an American company and placed in China.”

Mansour noted that Google was placing this AI project in a country with numerous human rights violations and asked if this AI was going to be used for surveillance of citizens.

Vorhies stated: “When people think of surveillance they usually think of country surveillance. This is planetary surveillance of all information that is available on the surface web and also any sources that it can get in the deep web and utilizing Google’s extensive deep analysis of its book scanning stuff. So think of the Library of Alexandria of all available websites that you can search for and all that data gets fused together and a decision-making process gets formed because of that. This is essentially what the Google DeepMind project is all about.”

Perpetual Stress: Four In Ten Adults Close To ‘Breaking Point’ At Work

• New survey reveals that burnout may be worse in the workplace than ever before.

• Average employee feels stressed out for a third of their workday.

  

  LONDON — Everyone has the occasional day at work that is more stressful or hectic than usual, but at what point does job-related stress become unbearable? A new survey of 2,000 working British adults finds that the modern employee is more stressed than ever, and a significant portion of workers feel like they just can’t take it anymore.

  The survey, commissioned by accountant support charity CABA, reveals that the average working adult feels stressed out for nearly a third of each and every working day, and four in ten adults feel they are very close to reaching their “breaking point.” Additionally, the average employee will lose five hours of sleep every week due to the pressures of their job.

  Modern offices are literally covered in potential stress triggers, and respondents listed checking work emails at all hours of the day and night, performing a speech or presentation, and overly demanding superiors as their top workplace stressors.

  Over the course of just one week, the average employee will complain about their boss for 31 minutes, and complain about their job in general for two hours and 45 minutes. With those time frames in mind, it makes sense that seven out of 10 adults have vented about their work to a co-worker, romantic partner, friend, or family member. Amazingly, complaining even seems to help many adults, with six in ten respondents reporting that they felt better after venting.

  Overall, the top 10 reasons adults complain about their job was as follows:

  4. Work colleagues

  5. The work itself

  6. Company culture

  7. Long working hours

  8. Excessive amount of work compared to other employees

  10. Dissatisfaction with one’s career path

  “Everyone will experience pressure day-to-day. A level of pressure can actually make us work better, however too much pressure that rises to an unmanageable level leads to stress. The working public needs to know how to manage their pressure to avoid reaching boiling point. Some people cope by blowing off steam through physical activity like the gym or going for a run, while for some things like breathing exercises can help,” comments psychologist Richard Jenkins in a statement. “Unfortunately, in many cases we don’t introduce these decompressing moments in our lives which can help release the pressure and reduce stress.”

  Interestingly, nearly half of respondents who admitted to being stressed at work also said they didn’t actually end up doing anything to fix the issue. Instead, they simply hoped the problem would go away. But, among respondents who did take action to fix a stressful situation, 38% went to their manager, and 51% went for a walk to calm down.

  So, what is all this stress driving people to do? Troublingly, three in 10 adults say they have been pushed to the brink of tears by their workplace stress, and another one in five have turned to alcohol for relief. Additionally, 31% have called in sick to avoid stressful situations at work, and 14% even used their kids as an excuse to stay home.

  Predictably, Monday was listed as the most stressful day of the week, while Thursday was named the least stressful.

  Well, at least we all have some vacation time to look forward to, right? Unfortunately, three in five respondents even get stressed out about taking vacation due to all of the work they will fall behind on while away.

  The Syrian Debacle Is Actually Well Planned Chaos

  For many years now I have focused a considerable amount of analysis on the subject of Syria, with an emphasis on the country's importance to the global elites as a kind of geopolitical detonator; the first domino in a chain of dominoes that could lead to a war involving international powers. I believe this war will develop on multiple fronts, most importantly on the economic front, but it could very well turn into a shooting war involving numerous actors.

  Syria is so important, in fact, that the establishment has been careful to smother all discussion about what is really going on there in a fog of propaganda. And make no mistake, BOTH Republicans and Democrats as well as eastern and western governments are participating in the lies and misdirection.

  Obviously, the first and most important lie is a multi-sided one, and we can't continue forward until it's dissected – I am speaking of the lie of US involvement in the region.

  Lie #1: The US Has Legitimacy In The Original Syrian Conflict

  First, most people reading this should know by now that US covert intelligence agencies (among others) were the force behind the “revolution” in Syria against the Bashar al-Assad. The majority of the fighters coming into the region were trained and equipped in Jordan in camps run by western agencies. The program was called “Operation Timber Sycamore” and was launched in different stages from 2011-2013.

  It's clear according to the evidence that the Arab Spring and the conflict in Syria were products of global establishment meddling in the area. Weapons were funneled from the Libyan crisis into the hands of “rebels” that infiltrated Syria, and equipment directly provided by the US found its way into the hands of groups that would eventually become what we now know as ISIS. The Obama Administration, Hillary Clinton, John McCain, John Bolton and many others were intimately involved in Timber Sycamore. The war in Syria was entirely engineered from behind the scenes.

  The bottom line: The US has no legitimacy there.

  In the Liberty Movement we talk about this conspiracy fact often, but I don't think many people consider the wider implications. Was the purpose merely to overthrow Assad? Was it about installing a government that was hostile to Russia? Was it to lure Iran into a vulnerable position? Was it all about oil? The answer is no to most of these questions. These are surface explanations that do not satisfy the facts on hand. There is far more to Syria than meets the eye.

  Lie #2: The Original Conflict In Syria Is The Current Conflict

  Let's distill this down to some primary facts: The US and other nations created ISIS and deliberately destabilized Syria. The establishment then tried to convince the American public to support the use of military forces in the region to back the insurgents and the civil war they created. This initial plan failed.

  Then, the establishment used the terror groups they created in Syria as an argument for why the US needed to send troops into Syria. This plan partially succeeded, but failed overall to generate public support for wider US involvement.

  Kurdish tribes in northern Syria were then forced to defend themselves against the spread of the ISIS plague. The Kurds fought bravely to defend their homes from the terror threat that western agencies had conjured, losing 11,000 fighters in the process. They seem to be the only innocent people involved in the entire affair. They joined the US as allies under the assumption that the US goal was to destroy ISIS. This was NOT the US goal. Not under Obama, nor under Trump. The real goal has always been to use ISIS as an excuse to maintain a US presence in Syria (we will get to why in a moment).

  Today, the war has shifted once again. This time, Turkey is invading Syria with claims that the Kurds present an existential danger. The reality is that the Turkish government has sought to erase all Kurdish culture from Turkey and Northern Syria since the 1970's, including banning the Kurdish language and Kurdish dress and Kurdish names. Even the words “Kurd” and “Kurdish were eventually banned. The Kurds responded by forming the PKK and calling for a sovereign Kurdish state which would allow them to live without oppression. The Kurds did not turn to direct action until the 1980's after many years of totalitarian subjugation.

  The Turkish invasion today is made possible by the rather convenient surprise pull-back of US forces from the northern border. Now, there is yet another excuse for wider involvement in Syria. The US is not out of the war; the war is just getting started. Each time the Syrian problem starts to fade and it looks like it will be resolved, something else happens which triggers another explosion of fighting. This is not a coincidence.

  Lie #3: The Trump Administration Is Pulling US Troops Out Of Syria

  This is not happening, and anyone who believes Trump is actually ending US involvement has been duped. It's also not the first time we've heard promises from Donald Trump on an end to the wars in the Middle East.

  Over a year ago Trump proclaimed that he would be pulling the troops out of Syria, yet, only a week later it was determined that they would remain. Recently Trump made the claim again, and only days later the Pentagon admitted that US troops were only going to be shifted back from the border while the Kurds, our former allies, would be attacked by Turkish forces. Turkey's military spokesman has said that they will “correct the demographics changed by the YPG (Kurdish defense units much like citizen militias) in Northeast Syria”. In other words, the goal is ethnic cleansing, and as the Armenian genocide teaches us, the Turks are no strangers to ethnic cleansing.

  Trump is not the only world leader to pull this kind of stunt, either. Vladimir Putin did the same thing in 2016, announcing an end to military action by Russia in Syria and a removal of troops, only to keep Russian forces there and well entrenched. The Russian presence has done little to prevent a flurry of Israeli air strikes against Syria, nor have they acted to prevent the Turkish invasion, so we must question what exactly Russia is still doing there as much as the US?

  These constant fake-outs on a Syrian withdrawal are meant only for the general public as a way of pacifying concerns, and it seems to be working. To this day many people still believe that Trump had pulled US troops out of Syria (or is withdrawing them right now) and Putin pulled Russian troops out after “defeating ISIS”. None of this ever happened. If you tell a big lie enough times the uneducated masses will start to adopt it as the truth.

  Lie #4: The International Community Is Sincerely Worried About A Kurdish Genocide

  Wow, it truly warms my heart to witness the sudden international outpouring of support for the Kurds in Syria. Establishment rags like the Washington Post and the New York Times, the EU government, the Israeli government, even Trump himself are all announcing their support for the Kurds and admonishing Turkish actions. They are all ready to enforce sanctions or even go to war in the name of defending the Kurdish people. How noble...

  The truth is, none of these agents of despair have any concern for the Kurds, and they will do nothing to save them until it's too late. Later, they will act, but not to save any remaining Kurds. A Kurdish genocide is only a means to an end. And here we start to see the entire reason for the Syrian crisis unfold...

  Lie #5: The Kurds Are Not Our Concern, Or, They Are “Getting What They Deserve”

  On the flip side of the paradigm, I'm seeing the Trump cult making some outlandish arguments (as they always do) to rationalize the president's bizarre and abrupt policy actions. The first argument claims that “it's about time” that a president “stood against the deep state” and ended US involvement in Syria, and we should let Turkey and the Kurds sort out their own mess. I would repeat the fact that Trump is not leaving Syria or any other nation in the Middle East with a US military presence. He is only pulling troops back and leaving the door open to Turkish attack.

  I would also point out once again that it is not “their mess”, it is a mess created by western governments including the US.

  The Kurds lost tens of thousands of fighters battling ISIS, and the Turkish incursion into Syria seems to be taking advantage of their weakened defenses. This is a situation the US created. The Turkish invasion is a DIRECT result of the destabilization of Syria, and Trump's pullback from the northern border was the icing on the cake. It acted as a form of permission by the US that Turkey could now do whatever they wanted (for a time).

  I am also seeing the narrative that the Kurds are “getting what they deserve”.

  Some argue that the Kurds were stupid for trusting the US government as an ally and now they are reaping the consequences. This is hardly a valid assertion. Punishing the victims of a con for being conned is not the American way. At least, it shouldn't be the American way. Also, the Kurds are not the real target of this disinfo campaign; conservatives are the target, and they're falling right into the trap. I believe this is a propaganda narrative designed to make conservatives sound like sociopaths.

  Trump's claim that the Kurds were “not really our allies” as they “did not help us during WWII”, and that they were only defending their homes rather than supporting our efforts against ISIS shows an insane (but calculated) disinformation campaign designed to make conservatives look monstrous and untrustworthy. If Trump was really against the “deep state” he would not try to tarnish the image of our only legitimate allies in the region.

  Finally, another narrative being spread around is that because the Kurds have a socialist form of governance, they deserve to be wiped out. I would remind the people making this claim that the Kurds are not trying to force their political ideologies on anyone, and Turkey's Erdogen is a classic totalitarian who has tightened his grip on the nation using every trick in the book, including a false flag coup attempt. Socialists or not, the Kurds don't deserve ethnic cleansing.

  Yes, the US should not have been in Syria in the first place, but then again, we ARE in Syria, and it doesn't look like we're leaving, so if we're going to be there we might as well do some good with our presence and act as a deterrent to an obvious Turkish attempt to erase the Kurds (our allies who fought a terrorist threat the US GOVERNMENT FUNDED) from the area. Of course, it's too late for that now...

  What Is Really Going On In Syria?

  If you're not buying the mainstream narrative, you might be wondering why Donald Trump would suddenly abandon the Syrian border allowing Turkey to invade? You also might be wondering why he would then immediately threaten to “crush” Turkey with economic sanctions and place “thousands of US troops” on the ground if his goal was to end US involvement in Syria? The answer is in the macro-picture. That is to say, we have to ask the most important of all questions – Who benefits?

  As I've mentioned in previous articles, geopolitical events are being exploited by the globalist establishment as distraction and cover for their controlled demolition of the economy. They need scapegoats for the implosion of the Everything Bubble, an implosion they started in 2018 with liquidity tightening policies that has now accelerated into a full-blown financial crisis. The Turkish invasion of Syria may be the pinnacle distraction event.

  With engineered chaos in Syria, Trump's globalist handlers can achieve a historic level of chaos while avoiding direct culpability. What do we get when we combine all the elements listed above along with lies on both sides of the political paradigm? Well, we get a rationale for war.  We also get yet another event which makes Trump look like a bumbling villain and conservatives look like fools or soulless robots.

  By extension, any tensions with Turkey suggest the beginning of the end for NATO. As I predicted in January of 2019, it appears that Turkey, a key component of the western alliance, is about to exit. This furthers the globalist goal of the deterioration of the west; the decline of the old world order making way for their “new world order” in which Eastern powers will play a larger role in conjunction with certain European elements. This is a dynamic globalists like George Soros have publicly and proudly discussed in the past.

  The Kurds may also be a direct target of the globalist agenda. In a declassified CIA document titled 'The Kurdish Minority Problem', the agency indicated that the establishment has seen the Kurds as an unknown factor (which they don't like) that is fiercely independent (which they really don't like) as far back as the 1940's. The CIA suggests that the Kurds are an uncontrolled element that could make establishment goals in the region difficult to achieve.

  In the 1970's the US manipulated the Kurds into actions against Iraq, which was amassing forces against the Shah of Iran and threatening to invade Kurdish occupied lands. Once the Shah was removed from power by Iranian revolt, the US abandoned support for the Kurds. The Iraqi government used the opportunity to attempt genocide against them using chemical weapons sold to them by the US government. History does indeed seem to repeat.

  I suggest that because the Kurds are a tribal force of millions that might oppose the globalist agenda in the Middle East, they may have been slated for erasure, and this latest event is merely one of a long series of events designed to kill off the Kurds. Or, at the very least, killing the Kurds is a bonus for the establishment.

  Beyond the Kurdish issue, a renewed Syrian crisis and EU opposition to Erdogen could lead to another flood of Muslim migrants into Europe. The last time this happened it sent the EU into an economic and political tailspin. It also opens the door to more fear in Europe and provides extra cover for a financial crash there.

  And, ultimately, the Turkish invasion provides a perfect excuse to draw a number of opposing camps into a single place in close proximity, The possibilities for the globalists are endless. The Kurds are turning to Assad for aid and protection from Turkey. Iran is a military ally of Assad. Russia is still heavily involved in the area, and so is the US and Israel. I think anyone with any intelligence can see where this is headed.

  If the globalists are successful in turning Syria into the center of the world by encouraging a Turkish invasion with a US troop pull back from the border, they would be killing multiple birds with one stone.

  They get a renewed rationale for wider US military involvement within the year. They get increased economic uncertainty as major powers fight over the dynamics of the region. They get a scapegoat for the crash of the Everything Bubble as the potential for wider economic or kinetic war rises. They get a scapegoat in Donald Trump and his conservative supporters, who will not only take the blame for the economic crisis, but also any tragedy that befalls the Kurds. And finally, they get a rationale for the end of NATO, which would be the next step in ending the old western world order.

  This clears the path for the introduction of a fully global and completely centralized new world order; a world without economic or national borders in which the elites govern openly rather than from behind the curtain.

  One “mistake” (or false flag) could ignite a conflagration between the nations involved. This is why the EU, the Russians, the Israelis and Trump all suddenly care so much about the Kurdish plight. They CREATED the Kurdish plight, and now they are going to use it to turn Syria into a massive powder keg. Syria is an artificially manufactured “linchpin”, as DARPA would call it. It is designed to provide catastrophe while maintaining plausible deniability for the establishment. Trump's actions in Syria may seem random, but they make perfect sense when we understand that he is serving a greater agenda. The US “withdrawal” is not a withdrawal, it is a prelude to a bigger conflict which benefits the globalist cabal.

  Turkey to halt military operation against Kurds in N. Syria, ceasefire will last for 120 hours

  Turkey has agreed to temporarily halt its military operation against Syria’s Kurdish-led militias, allowing them to withdraw from the country’s border, US Vice President Mike Pence said during a visit to Ankara.

  There, the American delegation held talks with the Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan – a visit that comes at a time of heightened tensions between the two NATO allies.

  “Today the United States and Turkey have agreed to a ceasefire in Syria,” Pence announced during a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

  The ceasefire between the Turkish military backed by affiliated militants and the Kurdish-led fighters is set to last 120 hours. This time will be spent on the withdrawal of the Kurdish forces from the 20-mile (32 kilometer) strip along the Syrian border, where Turkey wants to set up a “safe zone.”

  According to a text of the agreement, Ankara promised that the military operation, dubbed ‘Peace Spring’, will be "halted upon completion of this withdrawal." The "safe zone" in question, the text says, "will be primarily enforced by the Turkish Armed Forces."

  During the 120-hour period no further sanctions - triggered by the Turkish incursion - will be imposed on Ankara. When the ceasefire becomes a “permanent” one, Washington will cancel the executive restrictions against Turkey, Pence explained.

  The US President Donald Trump, for his part, stated that the sanctions were no longer necessary after the deal had been agreed upon. Hailing the "amazing" outcome of the negotiations,Trump also said that it required a “tough love" to get the deal done.

  Meanwhile, the US and Turkish sides managed to produce some conflicting accounts of the meeting. While Pence insisted Ankara promised to not attack the Syrian border town of Kobani, Turkey’s FM later said no such commitments were made.

  Apart from that, the town – as well as several other locations close to the country’s border – was already entered by Syria’s Army, according to state media. Last weekend, Damascus seemingly reached a deal with the Kurds and vowed to protect its soil from “Turkish aggression.” Therefore, it remains unclear whether Ankara will actually press forward with occupying all of its envisioned “safe zone.”

  ‘Peace Spring’ kicked off last Wednesday, targeting the northeastern parts of Syria controlled by the Kurdish-led militias – namely the so-called Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) group. While the SDF used to be the key US ally in its fight against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), Ankara regards the group as an offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

  The PKK, listed as a terrorist organization by both Ankara and Washington, has been waging a low-intensity insurgence in Turkey’s southeast for decades.The operation – repeatedly mulled for months – began just two days after Trump announced his decision to pull American troops from Syria’s northeast. The move caused an uproar in Washington and was branded a betrayal of the Kurds. As the ‘Peace Spring’ gained momentum, further US servicemen were pulled out of the combat zone.

  Ankara’s offensive drew widespread international condemnation and already resulted in a number of countries suspending arms exports to Turkey. Facing mounting criticism, the US president himself insisted that he had not endorsed the operation by any means, and repeatedly threatened Turkey with “devastating” sanctions, as well as executively implementing a set of restrictions against it. Ankara fired b ack, saying it will not yield down to any pressure and that it has been targeting "terrorists."

  'Take What's Ours': Turkish Defense Min. Posts Map of Turkey Taking Land from Neighbors

  JERUSALEM, Israel – Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Ankara to meet with Turkish President Erdogan on Thursday. Their mission: convince Erdogan to stand down from his attack on northeast Syria.

  Pence announced Thursday afternoon that the US and Turkey have reached an agreement toward a ceasefire.

  Initially, Erdogan refused to meet with Pence and Pompeo but later changed his mind.

  The visit came as Syrian Democratic Forces were resisting Turkey’s assault on northeast Syria with its self-proclaimed goal of establishing a safe zone for Syrian refugees.

  Before the meeting, the Turkish defense minister posted a disturbing message to his personal Facebook page with a map that indicated Turkey’s real ambitions could be much broader.

  The message said: “We have no eyes on anyone’s soil. We will only take what’s ours.”

  It includes a map with half of Syria, northern Iraq, as well as parts of Greece and all of Cyprus as part of Turkey.

  Meanwhile, Syrian forces had rolled into the strategic border town of Kobani overnight Wednesday, blocking the path of the Turkish military. The seizure of the town by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad marked a dramatic shift in power in northeastern Syria.

  Kino Gabriel, a Christian spokesman for the SDF told CBN News said they are truly grappling with President Donald Trump’s sudden withdrawal of American troops.

  "We are thankful and grateful for all the support that we received from the American people and several US officials who supported what we are doing and attempted and trying to stop the Turkish attacks," Gabriel said.

  "We also have regarding the decision to withdraw the American forces and coalition forces from Syria, (especially) after all the sacrifices the SDF and coalition members gave to defeat ISIS and stabilize the area to cut our joint work and coordination and partnership before finishing our work to completely defeat ISIS and preventing it from re-emerging and before we fully stabilize the area and work for the security of reaching a political solution," he said.

  “I think basically we would like to see more support from the US government and maybe a change in the decision that was made by President Trump and the US government regarding withdrawing from northeast Syria," he added.

  Meanwhile, US Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told CBN founder Pat Robertson that he was expecting Trump to step up to the plate.

  “This is a defining moment for president trump, we need to stand by the Kurds. We need to push turkey out of Syria, have a safe zone keeping the Kurds and turkey apart, and we need to partner with the Kurds regarding the oil field,” Graham said.

  The US troop withdrawal has also raised many concerns in Israel, particularly regarding Iran. Pompeo headed to Israel after Turkey to reassure Israeli leaders that the US policy on Turkey would not harm Israel.

  After the Russian submarine incident, I received a call from my most trusted insider-source, a former high ranking ARSOF member. The source informed me of the following:

  The Russian submarine accident occurred on board the Losharik, one of the Russian Navy's secretive spy subs. the "accident" also involved a submersible craft that the Losharik had launched, or its larger Delfin-class mothership submarine, the BS-64 Podmoskovye.

  My ARSOF source directed me to the following site. According to The Drive, "the submarine in question was actually BS-64, which reportedly serves as the mothership for Losharik. The small nuclear-powered submarine is supposed to ride closer to the mission area underneath the larger BS-64." This is where this gets really interesting. The Drive went on to say the following:

  ...the Russians also describe their special mission submarines, ranging from the deep-diving, nuclear-powered, yet relatively small submarine Losharik to the new Belgorod, presently the world's longest submarine, as "research" boats. That a mothership submarine carries Losharik ventrally during extended-range missions may be part of the confusion, as well. There is limited information about any of these submarines.

  Losharik can reportedly dive to depths as deep as 3,300 feet and its primary mission is to investigate and manipulate objects of interest on the seabed. This could include recovery of sensitive objects for intelligence analysis or to prevent other countries from doing the same, the deployment of sensors or other equipment, or the tapping or cutting of seabed cables supporting military and civilian communications and other networks.

  Later, my source discovered that the Russian submarine was looking for alien artifacts from a UFO crash. They were contested by an American submarine when the fight ensued. This is where things got very strange, very quickly.

  Following the submarine battle, there were emergency meetings going on all over the world. Air Force 2 was recalled with Vice President Pence on it and he promptly cancelled all engagements and returned to the White House. Emergency meetings were taking place at the White House this afternoon, with Vice President Pence being called back to the White House and having to cancel his scheduled trip to New Hampshire.

  As Pence was being called back to Washington DC, a simultaneous event was reported in the Russian media that Russian President Vladimir Putin cancelled a long-standing public event as he was diverted immediately for a meeting with his Defense Minister. Allegedly at the meeting Putin summoned the General Secretary of the Russian Armed Forces to the meeting. Additionally, NATO held a high level meeting in the immediate aftermath and the UK also held high level emergency military meetings. Paul Martin even received a report that the First Lady had been recalled to the White House and was placed in protective custody. Seemingly, the world was on verge of war. How would Putin respond to the attack by the American submarine resulting in the death of 14 Russian sailors.

  At least one other source has the following information, but I am not at liberty to reveal the source because it could endanger their informant. But our stories about China Lake are identical. This is what my source said to me: "Dave, the Russians used earthquake-causing technology to attack China Lake. This is why Trump was trying to buy Greenland as the United States now needed another place to put deep underground equipment that was previously in the deep underground bunkers of China Lake that had been destroyed. This is also why DARPA was publicly advertising for deep underground storage following the destruction of China Lake. And that is not even the worst thing. The attack by Putin was so deep, that it unleashed magma and it is now on the move into California. If this magma makes to the coast, the coastline will be severely imperiled." My source for this is ex-high ranking military with clear and current connections.

  I am not at liberty to reveal the name of the other source that has this information, as stated, but they also believe that the magma is on the move toward the coast. In a coversation between us, we both agree that the explosions being seen all over California are the result of this irregular magma flow. 

  Last night, quite by accident, it was revealed in an interview with Alexandra Daley, that magma was present in some of the manhole covers being exploded in California. This was occurring in five different locations in the report as revealed by Daley. This would also explain the need for PG&E to shut down in key locations. This also explains why we are seeing record flights by the military over Ridgecrest and Palmdale, CA. Some of the magma flow is being tracked. I spoke with a geologist this morning that was not cooperative and thought a lot of this was nonsense. But he did state that if any significant level of magma enters the fault lines and the ocean the chain reaction could be felt all the way to Cascadia and the result could be catastrophic. And then this geologist's demeanor dramatically changed. He demanded that I not use his name or cite his university. It was at this moment that I knew, that he knew, what I already suspected.

  At this time, I think it is logical and even prudent to strongly suspect that the magma flow is the reason for these reported spontaneous explosions across California. On last night's show, five locations were revealed by Alexandra Daley. Here is the interview. Also, please bear in mind that this is a story in progress and this is not meant to answer all possible questions. However, everyone should be a little concerned because everyone I speak with is now concerned about the safety of the people west of Interstate 5.

  Radiation Alert: Super Typhoon Hagibis hits Japan Sweeping Away Radioactive Soil & Waste

  Fukushima Daiichi’s radioactive waste is on the move again as Hagibis, the worst typhoon to hit Japan since 1958, dropped 30” of rain in 24 hours and millions of people were forced to evacuate due to flooding.

  From the minute we learned of this Super Typhoon threat, we were gravely concerned for the people of Japan and the tons of highly radioactive debris sitting on the edge of the volatile Pacific Ocean on the former site of the six Fukushima Daiichi atomic power reactors. Three of those nuclear power plants had meltdowns in March 2011 leaving more highly toxic radioactivity than anyone ever anticipated having in one spot. Some of that poisonous debris has been raked up and confined to thousands of giant 1-ton jumbo plastic bags that were right in the path of Hagibis.  As we watched the news of the approaching Pacific super typhoon (tropical cyclone) with its 150 mile per hour (mph) winds, we worried for the people of Japan who have already faced the worst nuclear disaster on the planet.

  Since these events are just beginning to unfold, the amount of radioactive material released into the Pacific Ocean and surrounding environment is unknown as of Monday morning, October 14.

  Contaminated waste from damaged nuclear plant in Fukushima swept away by Typhoon Hagibis

  … the city of Tamura in Fukushima Prefecture said Sunday that an unknown number of bags containing contaminated waste from the plant were lost. Officials say heavy rains carried the bags to the nearby Furumichi River. That river connects to another river and flows into the Pacific Ocean. The city retrieved ten bags from the river but they haven't been able to confirm how many went missing out of the more than 2-thousand 6-hundred bags kept in a temporary storage.

  Now, government authorities in Japan have begun the arduous task searching for an unknown number of bags of radioactive waste that were swept away by Super Typhoon Hagibis. Each bag weighs more than one ton; the plastic material of which they were fabricated was anticipated to last only 5 to 7 years before the toxic debris would require a final dumping place, a temporary storage facility, or new bags to assure no leakage of the poisonous dirt and vegetation within.

  Readers of the Fairewinds twitter feed will note that on Friday we expressed real concern about the status of Fukushima Daiichi and its highly radioactive dirt and debris in the face of this climate crisis weather event.

  Unfortunately, our worst fears from Friday are true. While damage reports are understandably still very incomplete, here is a video of one nuclear waste storage area that was undermined by heavy rain, spilling its radioactive contents into a river that runs into the Pacific Ocean.

  Even more disturbing is this report from the New York Times:

  Was the nuclear reactor at Fukushima struck?

  In Fukushima Prefecture, where a huge earthquake and tsunami caused the Daiichi nuclear power plant to melt down in 2011, a burst levee flooded the banks of the Abukuma River after heavy rains.

  Separately, Tokyo Electric Power said it was inspecting the nuclear plant for damage from the heavy rains.

  In the city of Tamura, floodwaters displaced huge bags containing contaminated waste gathered during the cleanup of areas around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, Kyodo News reported. A river washed away an unknown number of the bags, which were in a temporary storage area, it said.

  The contents of the bags, which hold up to 1.3 tons, were unclear, but they are most likely filled with irradiated topsoil and other refuse from the cleanup that followed the meltdown. Ten of the bags were recovered undamaged, Kyodo News said, and the authorities are cataloging the remaining ones to see how many were still missing.”

  While a first read of this story may seem to repeat the previously quoted story of bags being washed away, what we at Fairewinds find additionally disturbing is that a levee (dam) has also burst. It is well known that enormous amounts of radioactive material from the Fukushima meltdowns have settled on the bottom of stream beds and behind levees throughout Japan. As this and other levees and dams burst, they will release even more of that radiation into swollen streams and rivers where it will settle anew in crop lands and populated areas that were previously thought to be cleaned.

  Our concern is magnified because people and animals cannot see, taste, or smell this migrating radioactivity. If we look at the radioactively contaminated dirt, trees, and vegetation dispersed by this super typhoon, it will not look any different from any other river mud or debris, so people and animals will not know that it is contaminated with the most toxic substances known to humans. As our tagline says “Radiation Knows No Borders,” and unlike an oil spills, plastics, and some chemical leaks, there is no color or smell for anyone to know they should watch out!

  Brexit deal has been struck - Johnson and Juncker announce 'fair and balanced' agreement

  UK and EU negotiators have finally agreed a Brexit deal and will now be put to the 27 leaders of the European Union to sign off. However critically, Northern Ireland's Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) say they oppose the agreement.

  

  President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker announced on Wednesday morning via Twitter that a “fair and balanced agreement” had been struck between the two sides. “I recommend that #EUCO endorses this deal,” he added.

  Where there is a will, there is a #deal - we have one!

  UK PM Boris Johnson also took to social media to reveal that a “great new deal that takes back control” had been brokered and urged the UK parliament to sign it off on Saturday when MPs convene to debate the agreement.

  It’s not all good news though as the DUP, Johnson’s key allies who support his minority Tory government have responded by insisting that their opposition to the deal, as it stands, “hasn’t changed.”

  In a statement published on social media earlier on Wednesday morning DUP leader Arlene Foster and deputy leader Nigel Dodds said: “As things stand, we could not support what is being suggested on customs and consent issues and there is a lack of clarity on VAT.”

  Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has also criticized the new UK-EU Brexit deal, claiming that it was a “sell out” agreement that “won’t bring the country together and should be rejected.”

  Johnson needs 320 UK lawmakers to back the deal to see it pass through the House of Commons, and so with the DUP and Labour looking like they’ll reject such a proposition, it appears he could struggle to get the required numbers.

  Indian PM Narendra Modi has vowed that unutilized river water shares currently flowing to Pakistan will be diverted to the fields of Indian farmers, reviving a longstanding promise during an election rally in Haryana state.

  “For the last 70 years, the waters that belonged to India and farmers of Haryana were going to Pakistan. Modi will stop it and bring it to your households,” the PM promised during a rally at Charkhi Dadri in Haryana on Tuesday.

  This water belongs to farmers of Haryana, Rajasthan and the country and we will get it.

  “Work towards realization of this has been started and I am committed towards it. Modi will fight your battle,” he continued.

  India and Pakistan share the waters of six rivers that flow through both nations under the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960, which has remained unbroken even through three wars. Under the treaty, India controls the waters of the Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej rivers, while Pakistan controls the Indus, Chenab, and Jhelum rivers. However, an estimated 5 percent of India's unutilized water share flows to downstream Pakistani territory.

  In the meantime, many of India’s largest cities are running out of water, thanks to years of below-average rainfall from a weakening monsoon season. At least 21 cities, including the capital of New Delhi, may run out of groundwater as early as 2020, leaving some 100 million people in dire straits.

  Modi’s speech was not the first time his government has threatened to divert leftover water from its rivers. Then-Union Water Minister Nitin Gadkari warned Pakistan in February that it would “divert water from Eastern rivers and supply it to our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab” after a suicide bomb attack that killed 40 Indian soldiers in Pulwama. His counterpart in Islamabad accused New Delhi of “warmongering” and boasted of the strength of Pakistan’s army capable of dealing with any threat.

  Central Bank Issues Stunning Warning: "If The Entire System Collapses, Gold Will Be Needed To Start Over"

  It's not just "tinfoil blogs" who (for the past 11 years) have been warning that a monetary reset is inevitable and the only viable fallback option once trust and faith in fiat is lost, is a gold standard (something which even Mark Carney hinted at recently): central banks are joining the doom parade now too.

  An article published by the De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), or Dutch Central Bank, has shocked many with its claim that "if the system collapses, the gold stock can serve as a basis to build it up again. Gold bolsters confidence in the stability of the central bank's balance sheet and creates a sense of security."

  While gloomy predictions of a monetary reset are hardly new, they have traditionally been relegated to the fringe of mainstream financial thought - after all, as Mario Draghi stated on several occasions in recent years, the mere contemplation of a "doomsday scenario" is enough to create the self-fulfilling prophecy which materializes it. As such, it is stunning to see a mainstream financial institution open up about the superior value of limited supply, non-fiat, sound money assets. It is also hypocritical given the diametrically opposed Keynesian practices regularly engaged in by central banks and official institutions worldwide: after all, just a few months back, the IMF published a paper bashing Germany's adoption of the gold standard in the 1870s as the catalyst for instability in the global monetary system.

  Fast forward to today, when the Dutch Central Bank is admitting not only did gold not destabilize the monetary system, but it will be its only savior when everything crashes.

  The article, titled "DNB's Gold Stock" states:

  "A bar of gold retains its value, even in times of crisis. This makes it the opposite of "shares, bonds and other securities" all of which have inherent risk and prices can go down.

  According to the IMF's latest data, the DNB holds 615 tons (15,000 bars) of gold mainly in Amsterdam, with other stores in the U.K. and North America; the value of this gold reserve is over €6 billion ($6.62 billion). Calling gold the “trust anchor,” the article details briefly why the hard asset is so important to wealth building and the global economy, claiming: "Gold is... the trust anchor for the financial system. If the whole system collapses, the gold stock provides a collateral to start over. Gold gives confidence in the power of the central bank's balance sheet."

  Why this sudden admission of what goldbugs have been saying for years? Perhaps it has to do with the fact that on October 7, the bank announced it would soon be moving a large part of its gold reserves to "the new DNB Cash Center at military premises in Zeist."

  Almost as if the Netherlands is preparing for the grand reset, and is moving its most valuable asset to a "military" installation just for that purpose.

  As bitcoin.com tongue-in-cheek points out, "DNB is no stranger to playing along with the Keynesian, inflationary games of the global monetary system. A system which, according to some, is now more a Ponzi scheme based on force and blind faith than sound economic principle. That notwithstanding, the centralized financial powers of the world know the real score, and that’s why hard assets like gold are hoarded and locked down while everyday, individual residents of these geopolitical jurisdictions are encouraged to spend and spend, going further into debt to prop up ultimately unsound national economies."

  It is hardly a coincidence that in its preparation for monetary doomsday, the Dutsch Central Bank is also set to begin cracking down on crypto exchanges and wallets, stating that "firms offering services for the exchange between cryptos and regular money, and crypto wallet providers must register with De Nederlandsche Bank."

  While the push for greater KYC/AML transparency is a growing global trend, and is hardly surprising in a world in which trillions in assets reside in "tax-evading" offshore jurisdiction, the remarkable aspect of this latest crackdown against crypto - which many see as a modern, more efficient form of "gold" - is the fact that invasive regulations and restrictions by central banks can be seen as yet another means of stockpiling precious assets. This time, not gold bars, but bitcoin and crypto.

  As for the timing of the "great monetary reset", which other central banks have already quietly hinted at themselves amid massive repatriation of physical gold from the New York Fed to various European central banks such as Germany and Austria, we are confident that the trust-keepers of the current establishment - such as other central banks and the IMF - will be kind enough to provide ample advance notice to the citizens of the "developed" world to exchange their fiat into hard assets. Or, then again, perhaps not.

  Historic Midwest Blizzard Has Farmers “Expecting Massive Crop Losses – As Devastating As We’ve Ever Seen”

  An unprecedented October blizzard that hit just before harvest time has absolutely devastated farms all across the U.S. heartland. As you will see below, one state lawmaker in North Dakota is saying that the crop losses will be “as devastating as we’ve ever seen”. This is the exact scenario that I have been warning about for months, and now it has materialized. Due to endless rain and horrific flooding early in the year, many farmers in the middle of the country faced very serious delays in getting their crops planted.  So we really needed good weather at the end of the season so that the crops could mature and be harvested in time, and that did not happen. Instead, the historic blizzard that we just witnessed dumped up to 2 feet of snow from Colorado to Minnesota. In fact, one city in North Dakota actually got 30 inches of snow. In the end, this is going to go down as one of the worst crop disasters that the Midwest has ever seen, and ultimately this crisis is going to affect all of us.

  According to the USDA, only 15 percent of all U.S. corn and only 14 percent of all U.S. soybeans had been harvested as of October 6th…

  Only 58% of U.S. corn was mature as of Oct. 6 and just 15% was harvested, according to the latest data from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). North Dakota’s crop was furthest behind, with just 22% of corn mature and none harvested as of Sunday, while South Dakota’s corn was 36% mature with 2% harvested.

  U.S. soybeans were only 14% harvested as of Sunday, 20 percentage points behind the average pace, USDA data showed. North Dakota and Minnesota beans were just 8% gathered while Iowa’s and South Dakota’s crop was only 5% harvested.

  So that means that the vast majority of our corn and the vast majority of our soybeans were exposed to this giant storm, and the losses are going to be off the charts.

  I want you to consider the next quote very carefully. According to North Dakota state lawmaker Jon Nelson, we should expect “massive crop losses – as devastating as we’ve ever seen”…

  The early season snowstorm showed no mercy to some farmers and ranchers, especially in North Dakota.

  “I’m expecting massive crop losses – as devastating as we’ve ever seen,” said Jon Nelson, a state lawmaker who farms several hundred acres near Rugby in north-central North Dakota.

  Unharvested wheat in the region probably will be a total loss, he told the Associated Press.

  Please let that last sentence sink in.

  Yes, “a total loss” really does mean “a total loss”.

  Millions upon millions of acres of wheat and soybeans that were about to be harvested are now completely gone.

  In some parts of the state, the snow drifts are “as high as 5 feet”, and this is going to leave many farmers “without a crop to sell”…

  Snowdrifts in the Jamestown area rose as high as 5 feet, said Ryan Wanzek, who farms land south and west of the city. In his fields, corn and soybean crops sit unharvested after near-historic rainfall late this summer.

  It’s a situation farmers across the state are facing, and without a crop to sell, Wanzek is worried many of them will run into cash flow problems.

  If all this sounds “bad” to you, then you should go back and read the first part of this article again.

  This isn’t just bad. We are talking about complete and utter devastation that will have ripple effects for years to come.

  Of course corn and soybeans are not the only crops that have been affected. According to one expert, things are looking “pretty bleak” for the region’s potatoes as well…

  With more than half of North Dakota’s potatoes still in the field, the outlook for harvesting a good quality crop after the latest round of rain and snowfall is poor.

  “It’s pretty bleak,” said Ted Kreis, Northern Potato Growers Association marketing and communications director. As of Sunday, Oct. 6, 45 percent of North Dakota’s potato crop had been harvested, National Agricultural Statistics Service-North Dakota said. Last year, 73 percent of the state’s potato fields had been harvested by that day, the statistics service said. On average, 69 percent of the North Dakota crop is harvested as of Oct. 6.

  In case you are wondering, yes, this is going to affect you very much.

  Just think about what you eat on a daily basis. How many of those items contain corn, soy or potatoes?

  If you are anything like most Americans, at least one of those ingredients can be found in most of the packaged foods that you consume.

  Needless to say, food prices are going to go up. If you are wealthy and you don’t need to worry about food prices, then good for you.

  But if you are like most of the country and your finances are already tight, this is going to hurt.

  I very much encourage you to stock up and get prepared, because we are facing a major shift.

  This was already going to be one of the worst years ever for Midwest farmers, and now this storm has put an exclamation mark on an absolutely horrific growing season.

  Nobody is sure exactly what is coming next, but since we all have to eat, the truth is that every man, woman and child in America should be deeply concerned about what just happened.

  You Won’t Believe What’s In The Vaccines Being Discussed For Mandatory Vaccinations

  As government continues to speak about things we’ve not authorized them to be dealing with, namely mandatory vaccinations, a brief report has come out by Families 4 Vaccine Choice that illuminated us as to what is in vaccines and RNA. If you have a weak stomach, brace yourself.

  In a report posted earlier this year, the group pulled from a few sources, including the Center for Disease Control’s own website to provide the following information.

  “What exactly is RNA and what does it have to do with vaccines? To understand this, we must first understand that vaccines are considered a biologic,” the report reads.

  They then cite Biotechnology Innovation Organization for how a biologic is defined.

  A biologic is manufactured in a living system such as a microorganism, or plant or animal cells. Most biologics are very large, complex molecules or mixtures of molecules. Many biologics are produced using recombinant DNA technology.

  …it is difficult, and sometimes impossible, to characterize a complex biologic by testing methods available in the laboratory, and some of the components of a finished biologic may be unknown.

  Therefore, for biologics, “the product is the process.” Because the finished product cannot be fully characterized in the laboratory, manufacturers must ensure product consistency, quality, and purity by ensuring that the manufacturing process remains substantially the same over time.

  The living systems used to produce biologics can be sensitive to very minor changes in the manufacturing process. Small process differences can significantly affect the nature of the finished biologic and, most importantly, the way it functions in the body.”

  The report then goes on to ask what is “recombinant DNA technology,” or RNA. In fact, the report makes mention of the fact that most people have no idea as to how RNA is produced. Yet, The Encyclopedia Britannica provides the answer.

  “Recombinant DNA technology, joining together of DNA molecules from two different species that are inserted into a host organism to produce new genetic combinations that are of value to science, medicine, agriculture, and industry. Since the focus of all genetics is the gene, the fundamental goal of laboratory geneticists is to isolate, characterize, and manipulate genes. Although it is relatively easy to isolate a sample of DNA from a collection of cells, finding a specific gene within this DNA sample can be compared to finding a needle in a haystack. Consider the fact that each human cell contains approximately 2 metres (6 feet) of DNA. Therefore, a small tissue sample will contain many kilometres of DNA. However, recombinant DNA technology has made it possible to isolate one gene or any other segment of DNA, enabling researchers to determine its nucleotide sequence, study its transcripts, mutate it in highly specific ways, and reinsert the modified sequence into a living organism.”

  So, what does that mean when it is added to a variety of vaccines?

  Now we learn that with RNA, as stated above, “DNA molecules from two different species that are inserted into a host organism to produce new genetic combinations”. So that means they are splitting human DNA with the DNA of animals and aborted fetuses and then injecting it back into our bodies with the hopes that it will cause us to create the antigen needed to immunize us against a virus. Did you notice that most of those with animal and human DNA are on the schedule for our children to be injected with before they start school and throughout our lives?

  Not only is this highly unethical and even criminal, but there’s billions of dollars to be made from it while at the same time engaging in a global population control agenda.

  One of the people financially backing quite a bit of this is none other than Microsoft’s Bill Gates.

  However, listen to this little talk he gave at TED 2010 with reference to climate change and emissions and depopulation.

  “First, we’ve got population,” Gates said. “The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about nine billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by, perhaps, 10 or 15 percent. ”

  So, isn’t Gates talking about either using vaccines to sterilize or to possibly kill 10 or 15 percent of the population? How else am I or anyone else supposed to understand such a statement?

  The report also reminds us that Gates is responsible for pushing Common Core into the public school system.

  London Bans Extinction Rebellion Protests After Blackrock Offices Targeted

  London has become the first city in the world to ban environmental alarmist group Extinction Rebellion just one day after reports that they were targeting Blackrock offices in the progressive city.

  Supporters of the group - which made headlines last week for causing gridlock in New York's Times Square when they superglued themselves to a boat - call London's decision massive "overreach," according to CNN.

  "There have been draconian policing methods e.g. (in) Brisbane, and water cannons and violence used by police in Belgium. But this is the first ban," extiction rebellion spokeswoman Zion Lights told CNN, adding "We are worried by this erosion of democracy while the real criminals continue to destroy the health of our planet."

  According to the report, the ban is intended to prevent "ongoing serious disruption to the community."

  That said, activists do not appear to be backing down.

  But, by Tuesday morning, the environmental campaigners had made it clear that they wouldn't back down. Many activists returned to Trafalgar Square in defiance of the ban and the group said it would be pursuing legal action against the police force's decision.

  The movement's co-founder, Gail Bradbrook, staged a demonstration at the UK Department of Transport, climbing atop the entrance as other activists glued themselves to the building below.

  Referring to trees that are scheduled to be felled in the building of the UK's HS2 high-speed rail project, Bradbrook said: "I do this for the beautiful pear tree at Cubbington Woods, 250 years old they have no rights... I do this in fierce love of the 108 ancient woodlands threatened by HS2, this climate crime of a project. I do this in the spirit of what Emmeline Pankhurst called 'the noble art of window smashing.'"

  Bradbrook was arrested shortly afterwards. -CNN

  What to do with worry

  Charlie Brown said, "I have a new philosophy; I'm only going to dread one day at a time." That's an insightful thought about worry. Anxiety, fear and worry are big issues in our nation today. And now medical experts are telling us the prevalence of anxiety across the country and around the world has reached a crisis level.

  When things are going well, we worry about how long it will be until they start going badly again. Yet Jesus said, "Today's trouble is enough for today" (Matthew 6:34 NLT). In other words, you have enough problems to face today, so don't start worrying about tomorrow and the day after and a week after and a month after.

  So what do we do when worry hits? What do we do when we're suddenly filled with anxiety? What do we do when we're overcome with fear?

  When we find ourselves filled with anxiety, worry and stress, we need to take out the trash. The trash is picked up once a week at our house, and I'm glad about that. In the same way, we need to give our worries to Jesus Christ. The Bible says, "Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you" (1 Peter 5:7 NLT).

  In the original language, this signifies a definite act of the will by which we choose to stop worrying and instead let God assume the responsibility for our welfare. It's essentially saying, "I'm deliberately choosing to not worry about this. I'm intentionally throwing this on God and putting it in his hands. And I'm leaving it in his hands."

  You don't empty your trash once a month. You do it weekly and sometimes even daily. It's the same with our worries. Sometimes we have to keep coming back to the Lord again and again. Some days we have to bring it to him more often than other days, depending on what we're facing in a given moment.

  God cares for you. He is mindful of you. Let that sink in for a bit. He wants to take your cares. He wants to take your worries and anxieties. In fact, Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 NLT).

  Jesus also said, "So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom" (Luke 12:32 NLT). We learn three things about God from that brief verse: God is our shepherd, God is our father, and God is our king.

  God is in control of our lives, and nothing catches him by surprise. He knew it was coming. And if something is a concern to you, then it's also a concern to him.

  Here's another thing we need to keep in mind: There are no accidents in the life of a Christian, only providence. We as believers do not believe in fate. We believe in faith, and we believe that God is in control.

  When it seems as though your world is coming apart, God is aware of it. And remember, you're not alone in your suffering. Others have experienced something very similar, if not the same thing. Others are currently going through it. And others will go through it in the future.

  The Bible even tells us this: "The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure" (1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT).

  If we're suffering with something and then find someone else who has suffered with the same thing, or maybe something even worse, it's very helpful to talk with them. This is where community comes in. It's where the church family comes in. It's also the reason we shouldn't try to be solo Christians.

  We need our Christian friends. We should never isolate ourselves and disconnect from other believers. When we're not around those who can help us, we can get into a funk.

  By the way, this happened to men and women of God. For instance, Elijah, after his great victory over the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, made his way to a cave. Then he went into a deep depression.

  While he was there, the Lord actually spoke to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" (1 Kings 19:9 NLT). I have found that low lows often follow high highs. Elijah had a big moment, and then he had to return to reality.

  God is near, and he will be with us if we call out to him. He reminds us in Isaiah 41:10, "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand" (NLT).

  I heard a story about a man who came face to face with the dangers of worry. One day he saw Death marching toward a city, and he said, "What are you doing?"

  Death said, "I'm going to take 100 people today."

  "That's horrible!" the man said. So he ran ahead and warned everyone that Death was coming at the end of the day.

  As the sun was setting, the man saw Death leaving the city. He said, "Wait a second! You told me you were going to take 100 people. A thousand people died today!"

  "I kept my word," Death said. "I only took 100. Worry took the rest."

  That's what worry can do.

  If you're dealing with depression, anxiety and fear, take your eyes off yourself and put them on God. And remember this: You are not alone. Despite your circumstances or certain challenges you may be facing, despite everything in life that you're dealing with, God is still in control. So give all your worries to him.

  Farmed Salmon — One Of The Most Toxic Foods In The World

  It’s safe to say, that often times, we overlook what is behind the food that is in front of us. Fortunately, in this day and age, we are living in a time where people have become more conscious and critical of the food they’re eating. With the growing movement of people straying away from animal product consumption, we are naturally beginning to learn more about why people are cutting out this aspect of their diets.

  Fillet-Oh-Fish, by director Nicolas Daniels, takes a critical look at the fish industry, investigating fish farms and factories all over the world in an extensive initiative towards educating people on the fish they consume. Though our perception of fishing is rather ‘romanticized’, according to Healthy Holistic Living, when it comes to large-scale food production, it’s an entirely different story.

  According to Dr. Joseph Mercola, “Today’s fisheries are faced with a range of severe problems, from overfishing to chemical pollution and genetic mutation from toxic exposures.” The producers of the documentary note that through intensive farming and global pollution, the flesh of the fish that we eat has turned into “a deadly chemical cocktail”. Even so, the fish business continues to boom, merely to protect the image of modern fisheries from the public.

  The investigation kicks off in Norway, where they have a look at the chemicals that are used in fish farms today. A respected Norwegian environmental activist by the name of Kurt Oddekalv believes that the farming of salmon is “a disaster both for the environment and for human health.” Among the Norwegian fjords that contain salmon farms, there is said to be a layer of waste about 15 meters high, consisting of bacteria, drugs, and pesticides. The seafloor is apparently destroyed, and due to the sea farms being situated in open water, there is no way to contain the pollution as a result of these farms. Upwards of 2 million salmon can be held in a crowded space, with the crowded conditions leading to disease that spreads rapidly through stressed salmon. Oddekalv reports that sea lice, as well as Infectious Salmon Anemia Virus has spread across Norway, while consumers are not informed of the fish pandemics, and continue to purchase diseased fish.

  Despite fish always being known as healthy food, Oddekalv proclaims that today’s farmed salmon is one of the most toxic foods in the world. Jerome Ruzzin, a toxicology researcher, has confirmed these claims. Having tested a number of different food groups sold in Norway for toxins, he has determined that farmed salmon contains the greatest amount of toxins among them, by “an incredibly large margin.” It has been concluded that farmed salmon is, in fact, five times more toxic than any other food product tested.

  Dr. Anne-Lise Birch Monsen a prominent biologist at the University of Bergen, Norway, stated “I do not recommend pregnant women, children or young people eat farmed salmon. It is uncertain in both the amount of toxins salmon contain, and how these drugs affect children, adolescents, and pregnant women.” She adds that the contaminants detected in farmed salmon have a negative effect on brain development, associated with autism, as well as having an effect on other organ systems in the body’s immune system and metabolism. According to Living Traditionally, eating more than one meal of farm-raised salmon in a month can increase your risk of developing cancer in the future, due to the salmon containing cancer-causing chemicals and high levels of dioxins. Furthermore, farmed salmon is also said to provide your body with higher levels of inflammation which leads to many diseases, namely cancer, diabetes, arthritis, coronary artery disease, and Alzheimer’s.

  The evidence is conclusive that farmed salmon is essentially both damaging to our bodies, and the environment. Despite fish being one of the healthiest foods we can eat, we need to be mindful about choosing the right fish in the industrial age. Documentaries continue to surface with facts and research that have people thinking twice about consuming processed foods and any animal products at all. There are many great alternative fish and food choices that are handled in healthier ways for our consumption, and it’s important to stay aware and informed of what you eat, and how it got to your plate.
